I bought both our Son's Randall Knives. One was used and was a No. 1-7 with a stag handle. It had the owners full name on it. I looked the name up and found a guy with the exact same name and his age was 72. I called the Sheriff in the county where he lives and told them I thought I had a soldier's knife with his name on it and they went to his house and had him call me. I asked him to describe his knife and he was spot on. I told him that I had given it to our youngest Son and he was fine with that. The next morning I received a text from him asking if there was anyway I could send him his knife. He told me he was in La ready to be deployed to Viet Nam and his orders were cancelled at the last minute. I talked to our Son and he was fine in getting it back to it's rightful owner. The knife had been stolen from him at a gun and knife show some 40 years ago and it meant a lot to him. He received his knife this past Saturday and he sent me two real good pocket knives along with one of his shoulder patches from the 1st Cavalry Division. Thank God he never had to see combat. I have a new friend that I will probably never meet on this earth. Funny thing is we were born a month apart and are both left handed, but shoot right handed.
Great story, Old Soldier. Love these kinds of military lore involving great pieces of gear that gets passed down from one generation to another. Never heard of Randall Knives until I heard your story, but then again I'm a hillbilly. I learned something about a quality piece of gear I may add to my collection down the road. Thanks for another great upload.
I carry a rat 3,these days I remember the randle knifes, I was in the 82, for six years 73---80, I remember being aggressor's in Robin sage,a friend of mine from 5 th group had that knife 🗡️,the pawn shops in Fayetteville NC were great for, such things,🐓
I can't believe i didn't see this when you first posted it. Thanks for the shout-out. I've been looking at Randall knives again lately and am really favoring a model 14 Attack!
@@OLDSOLDIER6now the choice between stainless or carbon steel.... I'm definitely leaning strongly toward their O1 carbon tool steel. The original Randall steel, tough, and seems to be cheaper at some dealers.

Great story! I’ll have to look them up to order one for my nephew Chad (Paula’s son), He did a tour in Afghanistan as SAW Gunner. Take care Cousin.
Thanks to your nephew for his service. I appreciate you tuning in Cuz!
I carry a model 5-6 often
Those are nice knives.
If I cant see the Randal makers mark, the snaps and the sheath up close, I'm not buying that the knife is a genuine Randal.
@QuantumPyrite_88.9 It's real Randall but what you believe is up to you.
But maybe I'll do a short showing the above.
Yawn
