Wow, that sure is lots to remember about all that trim you were talking about. I learned a lot tonight, but will probably not retain it. Ha. Keep doing what you're doing. I look forward to logging on every night to see what else you have in store for us.
YOU FORGOT TO SAY THE 54 HAD A WRAP AROUND WINDSHIELD, THE FIRST ! REMEMBER SHOWROOM EXTRAVAGANZA HERE AT CHITTUM BUICK, ALWAYS A PARTY BACK IN THE DAY FOR NEW CARS ! ALL DEALERSHIPS IN THIS ERA ALWAYS HAD A OPEN HOUSE SHOWING, FREE SOFT DRINKS, ICE CREAM, SOMETIMES HOT DOGS ! GREAT TEENAGE MEMORIES !
I have heard different things about what determines the number of port holes. I believe it is the size of the engine that the car has that determines - the number of port holes? I think a Super can have four port holes if it has the bigger engine? If there is a Buick expert - I would like to know for sure. I think my parents 1955 Super Convertible had four port holes? Thanks!
Limiteds came in two series, at least in 1940 - 80 (wheelbase 133") and 90 (wheelbase 140")
