I finally beat this stupid fight after watching this. Kind of sucks that you have to cheese it to win it, but the block mechanics are freaking useless without AI reflexes, and the AI almost always blocks whatever punch you throw. I thought the Bad Dragon minigame was chaotic evil game design, but then I played this one.
Fun fact this mini game does have the option of two player mode where you play as the evil Yeti. I find that the evil Yeti has an auto block to his body and you have to hit the block button to block his face. Meanwhile on Bentley you have manually block for both sections.
It was like this in the original Year of the Dragon too. And stupidly I just found out there were three different attacks. I just thought there were two attacks. It got easier after I discovered the right click.
Man, it's still weird to me that people still find this video. Almost 2 years later and people still looking for help. Glad this could be of assistance, and congrats on getting the skill point!
I pushed him off the edge on accident before the second round was over and his life bar was lower than mine. But it completely glitched the game. The yeti is now gone. Completely. Even when I exit the area to come back and frozen altars altogether. Has this happened to anyone ?
If you are playing this on pc and struggling with fighting him the second time as much as I did, try do this combo: Right click 2-3 times until he blocks his arms up and as soon as they are up then hit your space bar to punch his belly. He will be too busy blocking his face to punch you most of the time and you will get direct hits in more frequently. Hope this helps!
The problem comes from the FPS. The more FPS the more difficult it's to beat the Yeti since for some reason it hits faster. I was fighting against the Yetti and after many attempts it seemed impossible. I changed the FPS from 120 to 30 (on PC) and beat it very easily. Spyro has some FPS related bugs.
Interesting. These games run at 30fps on console so maybe they didn't intend to have them run at anything higher. That was way more common back in the ps2 days. The Grand theft auto games come to mind. A lot of things in those games were tied to the frame rate like how long it takes for a car to explode or how swimming works which is why trying to run those games at a higher frame rate causes certain things to not work right. What I don't understand is why they would make the reignited trilogy like that in this day and age. They had to have known people would be playing the PC version at a high frame rate. If you come across any other difficulty spikes caused by a high frame rate come back here and tell me, I'd love to know if there's any more of that stuff.
@@BlackCode7 It's like the wizard is moving so fast that he can't use his spell causing everything that he's supposed to alter just to stay put instead. In the video you linked the wizard is also supposed to be changing the stairs into a ramp but he just doesn't. The only reason I see them linking mechanics to the fps like that is if they never intended to make a PC port in the first place. Like obviously people would want to play above 30fps so they had to have known that issues would arise.
Late, but if you still have problems, try to move forward and backward between jab to confuse te ia and tries to block te hit at the wrong time, like, punch, back, ahead, back and jab. Also cap 30fps in pc btw. I hope helps
OMG, I did it with FPS at 30. The main task is to get close to the yeti and alternate the upper and lower blow (HOOK WILL NOT WORK). Even if you get hit, keep alternating up and down. It turned out very quickly, yeeeey.

@@BlackCode7 sorry i’m not sure you’ll see this now because it was a while ago but i’m on ps5, how can i change the fps settings to help with this fight?? i can’t find settings unless i’m just being dumb
You're toast, gnorc has amazing guide. For xbox just keep swapping punches between X and A . He won't hit you. Finished it in 1 round for 13.3 seconds left
You MUST rotate your moves. Left punch, right punch, lower punch etc. If you do the same punch repeatedly, it does not work. And if you are playing on PC, change the graphics setting to 30 FPS
Playing on PC, this strategy did not work. Instead, I changed the game's framer ate to 30fps, then alternated between high and low punches (never blocked, never did a big swing). Beat him in round 1 with 15 seconds left.
I just beat this MF'ing Yeti, the trick is put the FPS to 30 on the graphics section. The Yeti pattern is: 5-6 right punches, 1-3 left punches. Your character Bentley goes in circles around the Yeti (never stop moving, key point), after Yeti finishes the right handed punches, it starts with the left ones. That's when you strike with ONLY your right handed punches and keep moving. When the Yeti starts striking right handed, MOVE or else you'll get beat up easily. When the right handed punches end, and start the left ones, strike again and repeat.
He did not take it. Bartholomew brought down our wraith on him for no reason. If it helps Bartholomew just misplaced his ball and thought the other yeti took it. He didn't want us to hurt him because he thought it would be funny he really thought that yeti stole it. Although I don't think he or Bentley apologized though so...

Agree..like the game, but these mini games are soo bad.
Man I remember beating this minigame on the Ps1, that was hard, but once I got the correct way I finally finished the 2 fights
This is the most shitty minigame the game has, the worst of all, i didn't have problem with any other. Those controls and the ''fighting'' is awful.
I was able to beat him in round 1 in both fights
It was like this in the original Year of the Dragon too. And stupidly I just found out there were three different attacks. I just thought there were two attacks. It got easier after I discovered the right click.
This and the ice skating dance, i couldn't beat any of them
Does the adaptive difficulty play into the fight, because I swear there is a really bad delay on my side?
Me too! I can’t see to get anywhere with this level
Managed to beat him in first round with 0.1 seconds left thanks to this guide :)

WORST MINIGAME IN THE WHOLE FUCKIN TRILOGY
I swear this minigame was designed by The Scorcress.
The original version of this is what got me into boxing.
I pushed him off the edge on accident before the second round was over and his life bar was lower than mine. But it completely glitched the game. The yeti is now gone. Completely. Even when I exit the area to come back and frozen altars altogether. Has this happened to anyone ?
Same thing just happened to me, had do exit the game and start it again.
Impossible to beat, he keeps refilling his life back to almost full. Should stay at where you left him at.
You're probably on PC. Put it on 30 fps in settings and will be much easier to beat.
@@xXSilentAgent47Xx you just made it from impossible to a 1 round knock out
