    Great Video you guys! Fun watching you both work together. I bought the 600 last January with flow control and use it everyday for myself and wife. Love the 600 dual boiler. I do like the new control knobs. Would be interesting to see a video on how to update from the turn knobs to the push knobs as shown on these machines.
    FYI - if anyone is on the fence between the 500 and 600, go for the 600. Just my opinion.

      @@Wholelattelovepage to reduce confusion I think you should add “with flow control” to the title of all versions of the pro 600. because of this, I accidentally ordered the version of the pro 600 with the knobs, not the newer levers.

    I'm military in Korea and appreciate the videos and that your site ships to APO addresses overseas! I just ordered beans and soon I'll be getting the profitec. I was thinking of the 600 but i was wondering if the Drive is something that's worth it. I like the auto wake up idea with the easy display but it is $1000 more

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey d, thanks for the comment and question. It's a tough call and really depends on what's important to you. Some key differences with the Drive are the easy to use display system with a lot more options like the time programmable pre-infusion, Fast Heating mode, easy access to boiler offset. Beyond that the Drive uses a quieter and more powerful rotary pump, is plumbable direct to waterline and has larger boilers. Guessing you may have already watched, but just in case here's a link to my full review of the Drive: th-cam.com/video/ouG30LITDy4/w-d-xo.html
      And a setup and first use video for the machine: th-cam.com/video/jBB55tCKVKI/w-d-xo.html
      Hope that helps!

    I have received my pro600 this week. However, mine got different pressure showing from group head garage and brew pressure gauge (with backflush disc inserted). From your video here at the end of video about 36:00, it shows two gauge shows same pressure. Did I get defective machine? Very confusing. With same setting why my group head gauge is showing 1 bar higher than brew pressure gauge bar? I set my pump pressure at 9bar, but group head pressure is 10am… with backflush disc installed. Please make me understand why is that.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Sharing, Your machine is not defective. I took a look at that point in the video and both gauges run up to ~8bar before the pump is stopped. Had it continued to run it's likely the group gauge would have gone a little higher. Reasons for this: Pressure on the machine gauge is measured in cold water near the pump and before a one way check valve in the hydraulic system. The one way valve allows pressure to build slightly higher on the other side. On the group gauge pressure is measured on the other side of the brew boiler. Thermal expansion due water heating and closed system due to the one way valve allow pressure to reach a bit higher when measuring static pressure using a backflush disc.

    • @Sharingsummer1
      @Sharingsummer1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I dont thing so.. if you see the video like 33:18 34:32 here from this video, it seems like brew boiler was set at around 8.2bar, but group head gauge is reading at around 8 bar. Any advice? Still don’t understand why the machine here in video and my machine is different? If reading 1 bar higher from group head is normal.. why this video is not the same case then?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sharingsummer1 When measuring static pressure it's not unusual for group head gauge to read slightly higher it can be as much as 1 bar. Also understand the gauges used on these machines are not precision, lab grade, calibrated instruments - those would cost! They may have some percentage of error in their readings. If one is a bit low and 1 a bit high then difference will be more noticeable.

    • @Sharingsummer1
      @Sharingsummer1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks. So in order for me to 9 bar extracting, should I set brew pressure at 9 bar or group head at 9 bar? Also, in this case, are you going to send me the new group head pressure gauge?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sharingsummer1 You're welcome. I would set to 9 bar static on the face gauge but choice is yours. I know people get very wrapped up in the 9 bar dogma. Truth is it's incredibly unlikely you will ever taste a difference in extractions pulled in a range of 8-10 bar. No new gauge. As mentioned these gauges are not precision, lab grade so small percentage of error is expected in their readings. It's likely another gauge would give the same reading.

    Hi Marc. I have a question for you. My house is equipped with a water softener system, will the BWT cartridge you plug into the water reservoir add some of the minerals back to the water or will I need to make up your mineral treatment recipe? Thanks for all the videos they are great.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi steve, Thanks for the question. No need to add back minerals if you're using a typical whole house softener which uses sodium to replace some of the calcium in your source water. We prefer using BWT magnesium ion-exchange as taste tests have shown it's a slightly better flavor extractor than sodium.

    Hi there, just a quick question on water filtration....I live in a soft water area, water hardness is 60mg/l caco (60ppm). Is a filter still important or am I good to go without a filter in that case??

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Shane, at 60ppm very unlikely to have any issue with scale formation. You may want to use filter with activated carbon to remove chlorination but it's not required. Do take water from the steam boiler every now and then. If you only ever take steam minerals will concentrate in the boiler. Don't need to take a lot. If preheating or rinsing cups with hot water that's enough.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi k, Thanks for the comment and question. Sorry no black BDBs. Comparing... Pro 600 is a handcrafted all metal machine. The Breville has a lot plastic, proprietary parts and lower user serviceability. Compromises for the lower price and expected longevity.

    Would using RO purified bottle water with added minerals work? It has calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi g, That can work but magnesium is preferred over calcium for remineralizing. Calcium is likely to result in scale deposits. Here's a video showing how to make SCA spec water using magnesium remineralize starting with RO or distilled water: th-cam.com/video/iHI7jC0sQZo/w-d-xo.html
