Jokic and Westbrook, the chemistry is displaying right in front of our eyes. Both of them have experience as well as know how to play the game of basketball. Russell is putting up amazing states and looking for open teammates to get them involved. It's exciting to watch them both
He has been pretty technically sound his entire career. But i think his early OKC days when he had a crew(KD, Russ, and Harden) and his start to 2023/2024 before the Harden trade(Kawhi, PG, and Russ) shows Russ at his best as a team leader and elite point guard. His season with Harden in Houston also shows him at his best but that season he had a lot of injuries and got sick before the bubble. That season showed Russ' ability to be a dynamic #2 like he was with KD. What Russ is showing in Denver in my view, is that he is still a high level starting point guard, miscast as a high level reserve. This has been floated around as an idea by sports media and nba fans as the ideal way to use Russell Westbrook and nba coaches and gm's have unfortunately bought into it. The data clearly supports him as a starting pg. He's not Bruce Brown, no disrespect intended but Bruce Brown can't carry Russ' jock strap! He's Russell Westbrook, one of the best point guards in the history of the nba and a top 75 all timer. Bruce Brown is excellent as a reserve! That's his role. Russ is excellent as a starting point guard! That's his role and if i were The Nuggets gm, i would have this discussion with Coach Malone before acquiring him. He can make Jokic and Murray even more dangerous if The Nuggets stick with this new lineup and gives them 14-16 more games together.
@@Karma-cj1wu ....it's pretty obvious right? The eye test shows it because the games Russ has started, The Nuggets just look like a better team, more energized from the start of the game with only one stinker(Washington) Plus they win games at an 80% rate which is elite. All the other games The Nuggets have looked disinterested and unmotivated, usually starting games in a lethargic fashion. Those games The Nuggets are under .500 and even if you flip the non-Jokic games to wins, they are just slightly above average at 10-7. Then you look at the net rating with Russ as a starter vs with Murray as a starter, using the other 4 regular starters and the net rating with Russ is twice as high(+12.5 vs +28) This doesn't mean Russ should start over Jamal Murray and Murray should go to a bench role. The Nuggets won the championship with Jokic and Murray as a dynamic duo so i would stick with that but shift Murray to KCP's spot in the lineup, make him the shooting guard because he is a more dangerous shooter/scorer than both Russ and CB. Now you have two high level play makers on the floor(Jokic and Russ) and 3 players that can space the floor in Gordon, MPJ, and Murray. This keeps CB where he is best suited, as a high level reserve and it makes your bench stronger because now instead of Russ leading the bench minutes, you have the team's second best player leading the bench minutes and you have better players in that unit by adding CB to play next to Watson.... With Murray leading the reserve unit, he can now be on the ball and getting up as many shots as he wants as the clear #1 That unit for the most part should be: Jordan, Gordon, Watson, Braun, and Murray. This reduces some of those Strawther minutes which are hurting the team due to his lack of defensive experience. He can still play, as can Nnaji, Saric, Tyson, and Pickett, but now you can limit exposing these players to too many minutes on the floor. To me this is the path towards "elite"
I used to not like Russ, but when I saw how his past teams weren't utilizing his skills properly, I felt sorry for him. Now, I'm happy to see him playing with joy again, like his old self, with his skills back and even better team play.
thats crazy even murray will come up off the fkin ball and let russ run point meanwhile another team is still trying to turn their actual point guards into spot up shooters
I think you stick with: Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, Murray, and Russ as your starting five for the next 15 games. That will give the coaching staff an equal amount of games to look at, for a better sample size. Shift CB to the Bruce Brown role, a high level reserve that plays 30+ mins a night. This would lock in: Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, Murray, Russ, and CB as your 30-34 mins per night players.... Watson should be next with 18-24 mins locked in, because he is a solid defender. Reduce Jokic's minutes to 34-36 per game by using Jordan and Gordon at the 5 in the non-Jokic minutes. Everyone else fills in the gaps(Strawther, Nnaji, Saric, Tyson, and Pickett)

Congrats Russell on surpassing Jason Kidd as last night with the most career boards by a point guard, with 8,405 boards & counting! Leggoo Brodie! 🐐
Westbrook might be old, but one thing that sets him apart from other players today is his winning mentality.
That last point of Jokic. Westbrook didnt take the open 3. Joker & Westbrook trust & chemistry is getting deeper.
When Russ almost shot the game winner but decided to pass it to JOkic at the last moment that is character development right there LOL

Russ made a statement that trading him wouldn’t be wise. And that he’s still got it! I hope we can get him a ring.

I love comeback stories.
Russ and Nikola perfect duo.
Westbrook pg, murray sg, Braun sub. them both😊
To the Finals... all the way, lets go!
Jok knew exactly what he was asking for, while everyone else's were wrong
Westbrook this is the best you ever looked

Murray looks better at the 2
Facts that’s why Russ needs to start
Yeah they should start russell westbrook at the point guard move jamal murray to the 2
Yep bcuz murray isnt pg, hes shooting guard
Westbrook should start over Braun
I think it should be over Murray
I think those 3 are interchangeable depending on the matchup

Russ is making jokic better buddy, not the other way around
Russell westbrook been good before jockic
WB at 1 with Murray at 2 seems like a good idea, tbh.
Westbrook should play 1 and murray play 2, Braun sub both of them with about 30 minutes play
go westbrook! go denver!
my hero❤
Imagine Jokic and Westbrook both get triple doubles in the same game
can be the first?
