Russ makes wayyy more money than his nba salary in his other ventures and businesses. He's been smart with his money. He's out on the court purely for the love of the game and the confidence that he can still play at a championship level. Jokic makes jokes that if his teammates lost pay for bad performances they might play harder and don't forget that he personally asked for Russ. He obviously values Russ for playing as hard as a max contract player on a veterans minimum salary. Can't fake genuine effort
Russ has -6 net rating, 50% True shooting (8% below NBA average), 0.3 VORP (average player). -5 plus minus, -17.6 on-off plus minus. Russ is not a contender level starter... If Denver needs Russ to play starter, Denver would never win another championship.
@@ryanamburgy2791 well... it's an indicator that he has never been efficient, and not a good ceiling raiser for a contender. I don't think there is a single championship team that has a start with True shoot below 8% of league average in the last decade. Championship winning all star players is never that inefficient. Championship winning starting centers are never that inefficient. Championship winning role players are still rarely -8% below league average TS. Even Draymond green has around +2% true shooting higher than league average. Feel free to show me a single championship winning starter who has -8% true shooting compared to league average.
Braun has been very good this season, and even as a Russ fan, I really don't think he deserves to be benched. But getting as many minutes with Jokic as possible through staggering the lineups should be the goal.
Yeah I just think what wins championships is variation in play style.. offensive n defensive versatility. Execution in the clutch. That is what will beat a team like Boston or OKC
Jokic catches a lot of passes from Russ that other players can’t, lots of fast short-rangers that are hard to react to in time. But Jokic can read Russ’s mind.
Moreover it's normal to have struglle when you start with a new team. I know he's a veteran but you still to adapt to a new style of play and new teammate.
Based take. People shit on Russ but the dude is still good when you let him be him. And having an elite passer next to Jokic has been great to see. Russ has always been one of my faves to watch.
Been a Russ stan for years. None of this comes as a surprise to me. Always knew Russ could bring it in the right setting. Now he just has to deliver during playoffs for me to actually be surprised.
As a pistons fan who has nothing to cheer for except for the pistons being .500. I hope the nuggets win the championship this year although it doesn't seem plausible.
I don't remember if you made a pro-Russ video before the season, or if it was someone else, but that video made me believe that this signing was going to work. I'm very happy to see that Russ is killing it. I love Russ
Agreed. Jokic was right, he could make Russ play Russ game again, not some static player on the corner. Don't know why so many teams trade him if they did not trust him. 200 triple-doubles did not came by chance.

Russ wasn't the 2017 MVP for nothing. Such a smart player and incredible passer, he'll still be valuable even after his athleticism declines, and it's declined a little bit but he's consistently beating guys down the floor and creating insane rim pressure even now. And his energy alone elevates the team, love his constant hustle and positivity, always trying to manufacture the best shot he can for teammates or himself. He's also still an excellent defender. More mobile than lots of guys 10 years younger.
Laker's needed a scapegoat for James, Nuggets needed a savior for Jokic. Crazy how a narrative can change the story completely. It's not like Westbrook suddenly changed when he came to the Nuggets, he's still the same player.
Russ is still as good as he was in 2019-21 just needs the opportunity to start as a pg and he’ll stil be all star level one of the best defensive pgs and top 10 play maker in the league
i love russ but saying his playmaking is “anything but inconsistent” is kinda crazy. if you’ve watched him over the years you would know every aspect of his game is inconsistent. no hate, just honesty. once he starts struggling on one aspect of his game the rest of his game follows. he makes stupid turnovers, gets tunnel vision very badly, and chucks up inefficient shots. the nice thing is he’ll go from all that to looking like a top 15 pg in the league one game. he’s a streaky player, especially in the playoffs he’s always been this way
Nuggets should get roll and dunk C for second unit that can D, that should be their focus, Brodie is been great, I need to apologize for not having patience, he and Joker are lethal
Jamal rushed back from injury bc he got jealous Russ exposed him hard lol. Then they finally started Russ but over Braun?? Braun been amazing. I dont believe that injury report for a second. That loser Jamal didn't want to accept his place.
Russ is proving how overrated Jamal always been. Legit can't pocket pass or every pass lol. The ppl who hate joker in goat conversations been real quiet
Promise u russ was never the issue. He’s legit doing exactly wat he did sit the clippers. People were jus were casuals who didn’t actually watch him play, & went off narratives
Ive always been a WESTBROOK fan.. his time with the FAKERS was bad i admit but taking all the blame when you have LEFLOP at your team.. LEFLOP destroyed my BOY RUSS!!! GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK RUSSEL WESTBROOK!!
Russ' redemption arc.
People questioned Jok's push for Brodie here in Denver and we should have never questioned his wisdom.

-- He was BAD for a $45M, esp for a guy who can't shoot. Now, for $3.3M? He's back to being great.
Always a great day when 6man posts

This made every Russ fan shed a tear.
Hope Russsss can get a ring with Nuggs

It's just stats, there are bad games, but when Brodie and Joker are clicking they are lethal, f stats, just watch the games
Jokic and Russ deserve a title together.
Jokic actually makes teammates better.
Jokic wanted Russ. He saw something others did not.
Unlike curry lbj MJ sga Gianni's.
@@PhilDavisplusppl completely forgot Russ cooked with Steven Adams in okc, so what do you think he’s gonna do with Jokic?

Factual statement
If you don’t like Russ, you don’t like nba basketball. This is a great video
imagine if Russ could've played with Jokic in his prime. 😳 It'd be like Stockton-Malone except either could be Stockton or Malone on any given play
Agreed. Russ is a big reason why the Nuggets are still in the playoff picture.
Jokic catches a lot of passes from Russ that other players can’t, lots of fast short-rangers that are hard to react to in time. But Jokic can read Russ’s mind.
Imagine Jokic gathering veterans that dont have title like Russ, Cp3, Harden or similar and getting them ring that would be nice story
As wild as that sounds. I’m here for all of them getting a Dwight Howard ring.

Lebron was unable to bring out the best out of Westbrook
Ali zato Jokić jeste… :)
LeBron and Russ ran ONE PNR and it was unstoppable and they never did it again…
Russ was still horrible jacking up middies lol. MJ wouldn't have done anything either. Only joker would
And... he came cheap. Russ adds another two man game with Jokic. Great trade actually suggested by Jokic. 🎉🎉
Where's the first one 😂😂
Jok and Russ goated.
they didn't know they cuda paid this guy 2.5m one year for the same if not better worth than paying someone 50m a year? 😂😂
Russell westbrook needs to be the starting point guard move Murray to the shooting guard
I would love to see Russ get a ring with the Nuggets if my Mavs don't do it
Russ actually making threes was not something I could have ever expected. I owe him an apology for doubting him on that.
He is playing with the goat
Makes no difference

Russ made mpj a better cutter too 😂

Jokić makes everyone around him better - even Westbrook. It works both ways, though: Westbrook has also adjusted his game to fit with the Nuggets.
Murray makes these same passes
Russ found his home in Denver!

He's not jacking up middies so yes he is changing

12.4 PPG
7.1 APG
4.3 RPG
1.6 SPG
