I just started playing EVE a couple weeks back and recently managed to get into a friends corporation. We're also based in nullsec. It's been a blast so far, although a bit off a rough start for a new player that doesn't have lots of ships for ratting. Hope it goes well for you.
@@Expedishun Haha, yep. But i've manage to farm 700m now only from exploration in a 1.7m worth Magnate fit, and will be able to properly rat low lvl hubs in a Myrm by next week :D baby steps. Enjoy your stories, keep em coming!
@@christofferkristiansson4767 that’s quite a leap you’ve made from starting! Making that much from a cheap ship has to feel good! I know a lot of people fly Asteros, but I love my Buzzard. 40m fit and has made me billions in return😂
As someone who has tried everything in eve atleast once, I say you and everyone else that plays eve should do it. Wormholes are fun pvp/pve, I've done with a semi large group and solo, both different experiences. lowsec also, small gang pvp and doing ded sites and gas. nullsec was good with a big coalition, lots of isk to make and big fights that make eve news, solo living in Npc null was pretty fun too, hunting people and doing DED sites. thera is a fun place to live and get kills and wormhole pve in the connections. pochoven was kinda hard to live it since I couldn't use gates for a long time but after that it's quite fun, like wormholes but with perma gates. I of course lived in highsec at the start, mining and hauling, doing industry building things, but also lived in a highsec pocket surrounded by lowsec, that was much more fun and many more sites to run, especially since local was almost always empty. I've done mining, exploration, pvp, pve, running a corp, trading and hauling, so I've found my place in eve, which is solo and small gang pvp with exploring and whatever else I feel like :D
Thats what the game is all about, just doing what you love! Yea, before I left high sec, I started spending a good amount of time in wormholes. It was an insane amount of fun. The fact you could be jumped at any time, especially for being a solo player. Once I get setup down here, I am definitely going looking for wormholes.
I went through the same kind of arc, I started playing and got caught up in how much money I (thought) I was making through mining. I did hisec, lowsec, then eventually null with a corp that focused entirely on mining and had schedules for moon mining. Eventually I was just bored, seeing a jackpot moon stopped being exciting even though I was making a lot of ISK. I moved to a nullsec corp that was more focused on PvP, they still did moon mining but after a few weeks I stopped. I started doing exploration and ratting instead, which when mixed with PvP was way more fun. We've since moved to lowsec, but I still keep an Ishtar and a Buzzard in a quiet-ish area of null. When I feel like doing quiet solo content, I'll jump clone over to the null NPC station and check for valuable data and relic sites, DED sites, or Havens / Sanctums. With a relatively cheap Ishtar I usually do 25m per tick in ratting, with Overseer Personal Effects being the other guaranteed income. With drops from bosses and rare spawns, I'd say I average around 500m a week by spending 3-4 hours in null. Way better than any singlebox solo mining I know of, and way more engaging than moon mining. If you get an escalation from ratting, check on Eve wiki to see if it's something where you can just headshot the boss- if so, use a stealth bomber then bookmark the wreck, wait two minutes, and warp back to scoop the loot. Out of the three escalations I've gotten in the past two months (running approximately 20 total sites) one dropped an 800m implant and the other a 300m implant. Always check for DED sites in your local area, and always pursue an escalation in a cheap ship if you can!
Forgot to add- my strategy for solo null life is to focus on immediate payout (bounties) and only pick up low density high value loot. I don't bother with MTUs, mining of any kind, or PI. The only loot I want is the loot I can get past a gatecamp in a shuttle, sneakily move with my Buzzard when the gatecampers are asleep, or get lucky with a hisec wormhole near my null home station.
@@Expedishun Curious to see your results! The stealth bomber approach is only useful for certain escalations where the boss spawns in the first pocket on a timer, trying to actually clear sites in a stealth bomber takes ages. For DED sites, in Serpentis space I can breeze through 7/10 and 10/10 in a cheap Ishtar, I haven't tried the final room of an 8/10 in my new fit though. My old fit would struggle with it so I imagine the new one should make it easy, if you're in a Rattlesnake I doubt you'll encounter any issues. Also just in case you haven't seen it yet- NPC dreads can spawn in the final wave of Havens and Sanctums (as well as ore and ice belts) so always make sure you're paying attention when you're down to the last few ships in a wave.
@@TheLime-wd3yu I will definitely keep you updated! Still learning the ins and outs of high level ratting. When I’m high sec, the highest level DED escalation I ever got was 5, so coming down to null and instantly jumping into level 7,8,9 and even 10s has been a learning experience for sure!

I did that mistake I left hic sec for null and I lost 5bill sense going null and made back maybe 700mill thanks to ratting being ass and thanks to basically 90% of all good or is moved to low sec. Heck for the past 2 weeks I been in null I never seen mercoxit. I only seen Akanor and Bistot and does are shit mostly, small or medium sites with 1200-3000 m3 per asteroid and the worst part is they are like 40-50km apart so I spend more time travelling than mining. Honestly living in a 0.5 system next to low sec has been the best thing so far. I take some trips to low and to WH space. But yeah joining null was a damn mistake higher the risk but shittier reward. Sure the corp is awesome sadly we are like 2 people online most of the time. The alliance is nice but the intel is shit lost a marauder becuse no one bothers with intel. Honestly I mostly have regret joining null and my wallet suffered shitloads thanks to it. And yes ratting is ass I make like 34mill an hour becuse in my ishtar it takes me 29min to do 1 site and that´s 17mill in bounty and in 1 hour I make 2 sites so 34mill plus loot if I can loot becuse there are always so damn much traffic there is no point in taking the loot or you die. That being said im glad your brother is enjoying Null sec wish I could as well.
So far, my experience has been vastly different from yours. In the last 3 days, I've made around 400 million ISK. The intel channel we have is constantly active, and if you ask for help a fleet forms and drops in on the system you need help in. The rat sites, I'm currently doing level 7 and 8s. The bounties plus the ESS and the loot are all worth it. Mining Ice and Mercoxit are plentiful down where I am, yea there's some travelling between ores, but generally speaking, I've full ice belts and ore sites to myself, to mine at my leisure. Everyones experience differs from player to player and area to area. Its shit that you had a bad experience, but its the opposite of mine
Bro my experience was kinda the same, my corp and alliance are great but null is...kinda boring I too lost billions, made some billions back of course but not at all what I had originally (I lost a rattlesnake and a couple of DST while moving so...). I decided to go for faction warfare and man, it's actually super fun, living un lowsec is very kinda fun, it's hard-ish to make isks but infinitely more fun that null, content always, fleets always, just look up how to turn LP into ISK and is so good, also it's very easy to just jump into highsec and make money there or jump into null and explore or do whatever really, way better than living in null
@@renatlottiepilled Yeah I lost my only Vagur in null. I had it for weeks doing dome sites now and then i WH no problem. Lost it 1 day in null becuse I did not fix my own intel. I should have scanned for Worm holes becuse that´s where the people came from who killed me. There shit loads of times I see nutes passing by but are never reported until I report them. Like why do we even have an intel channel when no one barely use it or they tell you your loss is your fault becuse you did not spend 10-20 min scanning down all potential worm holes. I would love to do FW but im so bad at pvp and lose so much isk I end up having to quit doing pvp and lick my wounds for months >.
@@floppyspud well useless intel. I basicly have to ger my own intel. Also when I lost my very first vagur ever they got me right on a new cykle. They came from a wh I did not know about. The alliance knew but said it was my own fault for not scaning it down. Then I lost a few other ship and some few ships to volunter pvp. And now im down to 70mill in wallet and 500 in 2 ships I use for ratting which nets me 34mill an hour becuse they have shittt dps thank to me not having t2 heavy until 20 days.

I would love to do FW but im so bad at pvp and lose so much isk I end up having to quit doing pvp and lick my wounds for months >.
how did you lose so much in nullsec?
@@floppyspud well useless intel. I basicly have to ger my own intel. Also when I lost my very first vagur ever they got me right on a new cykle. They came from a wh I did not know about. The alliance knew but said it was my own fault for not scaning it down. Then I lost a few other ship and some few ships to volunter pvp. And now im down to 70mill in wallet and 500 in 2 ships I use for ratting which nets me 34mill an hour becuse they have shittt dps thank to me not having t2 heavy until 20 days.
