  • Listen to stunning Seattle local Sarah Rose Davis as Rosemary Pilkington sing the tantalizing "Happy to Keep His Dinner Warm" onstage in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying! To purchase tickets to this hysterical satire of big business at The 5th Avenue Theatre, visit www.5thavenue.org/show/how-to...
    About the show:
From the corporate offices and the typing pools of the 1960s - think Mad Men - to the modern cubicle wars of today, this hysterical satire of Big Business is comedy at its finest. Join the “Brotherhood of Man” attending How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and do it the “Company Way!” This Pulitzer Prize-winning musical by Frank Loesser is office intrigue at its funniest, complete with some slinky choreography!
The title says it all. J. Pierrepont Finch is a man on a mission - to achieve stunning success at the World Wide Wicket Company while doing as little as possible to deserve it. This musical satire of corporate ladder-climbing and office hanky-panky opened on Broadway in 1961, ran for a remarkable 1,417 performances and earned seven Tony Awards®, the Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, and the 1962 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Audiences will love this swingin’ tune-filled musical set in the era of TV’s Mad Men, boasting an exhilarating score including “I Believe in You,” “Brotherhood of Man,” and “The Company Way.” This Northwest production will be directed by 5th Avenue Producing Artistic Director Bill Berry.
Power, sex, ambition, greed... it’s just another day at the office in this classic satire of big business.

I love the dress reveal. I know this show inside out and somehow because the dress was irresistible, tI he lighting, timing I was surprised and laughed for the first time in years. The dress is clearly Mondrian inspired and that is sheer genius and evocative of the period and yet it feels original.

Except the Mondrian deStijl paintings were done in the 30s and 40s. It's actually kind of lazy pop-culture-by-association. Everything looks great though.

@@tomshea8382 I’d argue that it really does highlight the blatant and careless consumerism, though! It shows how low-effort, unoriginal, and cheap manufacturers can go and still have people buy it up as if it was truly a ‘Paris Original’. It works with the inherent satire of the musical!

@@kbye2321 That's baked in to the number already. I'm just pointing out that Mondrian was not a 60s thing.
