Great interview. These are some of the reasons I refrain from social media.

Great ideas here. I agree. They might make people uncomfortable but it’s exactly what our generation needs to hear

The term confidence man was around before the twentieth century, e.g., Melville's novel from the 1850s.

Yes, she thinks before she speaks. Maybe she isn't as media trained as others, but she is obviously brilliant.

She says: "We generate an enormous value for them (Facebook) by performing our identity". She forgot the other part. Facebook generates an enormous value for 1,5 billion people wordlwide for free. And you can leave whenever you want. The internet is a tool like an axe. You can do good or bad with it. You would know this if you study history or human nature. If she studied these fields she would be jumping in the air from sheer joy of living in these times. I'm not saying that everything is perfect. She gives no solutions because then she would really have to dig outside the realm of indentity and feminism. If you critic your own culture you should compare it with other ones and with history. Why it is this way? What has human nature to do with it? What do i expect and what can i do about it? Another good question could be: How come an exploitive white patriachy created all these products like internet, social media and apps for me to skyrocket from 0 to 100 in a few years? This is what childeren in education get spoonfed. There is no gratitude and realism it makes me sad.
