Bandai does love their Blue/Yellow formats. They didn't deal with Tommy until after he was about to be powercrept, thus Blue Hybrid was the strongest deck for 2 whole formats and probably the most dominant deck the game has ever seen. Melga X was the same thing, but they strangely hit him 3 sets later AFTER he got powercrept. Numemon has been the best deck for us since BT15 and the only thing that'll change that is a banlist because EX7 and BT18 simply don't add enough to the game. Meanwhile Xros Heart got hit straight out of the gate, Greymon and Beelzemon both lasted about a month each before getting hit, and purple got straight nuked, deservingly admittedly. I'm sure I missed some finer details somewhere, but I think there's definitely some color bias being thrown around behind the scenes.
1:45:10 demon lords is a good matchup when playing rapidmon, you literally have all the tools to deny them value, just turn their demons sideways and run them over, they have no aces to be afraid ff and are dp reduced. They die by battle, no tuck happens under the gate, that's one turn they don't get to advance their game plan, and you can do it consistently while trashing their sec with lvl5 rapid or piercing with terrier x, or just swarming the board while their turns do a whole lot of nothing. Also rapid tribal did top all throughout bt16-ex6, not as consistently as other decks, but definitely had its fair share of top8s and up.
rapidmon is a pain to deal with because other than beelze theres no way to deal with armor purge. like 7gdl has acess to a great mix of colors but they only gave delete and 1 option of non delete/removal (in the form of beelze), yes belphe suspends but then it requires to have something being deleted in order to be removed and levia could have a bounce effect since its blue (removing cards from stack seems useless atm in my oppinion), also its rly hard to make levia work since you barely have stuff on the board, mainly relying on tamers to make it work.
I love the shout-out to Cliff and Ulforce. DNA Ulforce with partition is a great idea, but finding the deck space for both DNA pieces and tamers would be tough. Martin Le is the Ulforce player who's been consistently topping.
they have updated the rule on omni ace not triggering overflow when it is put under yggdrasil, it now does so however i dont know if it is updated for english tho
I assume this is before GenCon, but Virus Imperial topped there. I played against them personally and they were an excellent player but I think it's just unintuitive to play
Varni!!!!!! We don't need ex2 imp back at 4! Stop trying to play the deck with training wheels! Be a man and learn to play it without ex2 imp! For the record, I think you guys mis-placed beelze. I'm inclined to put it at the top of pilot oriented. Not everyone can do well with it. I would only trust maybe 2 other people with the deck at a regional.
