QOTD ⚡️ What tripod are you currently using? Do you recommend any tabletop tripods? Let me know! 👇Also, check out other videos in our BEST Budget TH-cam Equipment series here ➡️➡️➡️ bit.ly/BestBudgetGear
Think Media hey Sean, I’m using a typical iPhone compatible tripod from Amazon (the silver ones). They work ok for now but as I grow I want to upgrade.
I was only just introduced to your channel, and I've been binge-watching ever since. THANK YOU for breaking down all of these topics into easily-digestible bites that anyone (even me) can understand. (Also, as I was just looking at tabletop tripods online this week, this video couldn't have come at a more perfect time!)
Growing a channel in 2018/2019 is not easy but with your help and tips you have seriously gave me the best start! I barely started in Sept and after only 2 videos I got sent products (in my niche) to review! Also, I learned how to optimize my tags like you recogmend I get any where from 600-800 views & I haven't even told my friends or family, this is all just things I have learned.! Thank you! I cant wait to see where my channel is in a year from now!
I use a cheap Mafrotto for most work with my Canon 60D just because it holds the weight and is still portable for use around the shop. For the Sony and Nikon Point and shoots I have an old aluminum tripod left over from the 70's. It is lightweight and won't break my heart if it gets broken or lost while taking location shots in factory environments. I also use a Gorrilla knockoff from WalMart on location. For smart phone work I have a suction mount for the dashboard and window mounts in the truck. Sticking it on the back window gives a passenger POV for action shots. For bench work I have a couple homemade ceiling mount gantry arms for taking overhead shots. Much better than a short tripod because bench operations create a lot of vibration. I just got a GoPro knockoff but I'm not wild about the effect it has for upclose work. Chest mounts are ocluded by my hands and arms during shooting. Head mounts mean I have to hold my head still. I'm staying with tripods.
I love your channel. It has truly inspired me and kept me motivated with my channel. Thank you. As someone that recently started out, I have a smaller/cheaper version of the gorilla tripod.
Thank you for your attention to detail and clear communication! Learning lots from your videos! This breaks the gear decisions down into pros and cons I hadn't thought about.
Sean, another great video. I use the UBeesize phone tripod rig with the added arms for lighting and mic. A good little setup that doesn't break the bank. Super flexible, but like the Joby can be a bit short.
Just got the Joby 5k, and I'm really happy with it. The cool thing for me is the flexibility of it. You also get a good shoulder workout with it when vlogging lol.
Great video. My desktop tripod is a Manfrotto Pixi, but it’s too low for a good view. Since it’s low, I have to angle it up to me, which isn’t a great shot and gets too much ceiling, vs something eye level that gets a good view of your background. Thanks for the great review. I’ll be looking into some of these to replace the old Velban I also have.
First Of all MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your Family :-) and Of course all your Subscribers as well :-) I Really like the Joby GorillaPod 5k :-) and I don't have anything yet so I think I will start there :-). thanks for this one :-)
Not sure if you talked about it before but talk about the softwares you're currently using (editing and live streaming). I started using CyberLink PowerDirector 17.
I have been using the Newer table top tripod for a while now with my Canon 80D and it has been great for recording from my desk. It’s heavier than you expect but really solid with my 80D on top of it. I actually leave it on the tripod for the most part don’t fear it knocking over. For the price I consider it a good buy.
I use the SmallRig Mini Tripod Tabletop Tripod with or without the 360° Ball Head and the Velbon Tripod EX-mini (which sadly does not tilt to do porttrait shots but it's ok for landscape) with sliding centre support to get lower. Thanks for your tips Mr C.
Love your channel, been following you since 2016,YOUR CONTENT ROCKS!...Any suggestions for a tripod that has a slim bottom? Camera needs to be behind my couch to catch the right light for videos.
I read that Gorillapod 5K is with aluminium leg sockets and balls, can you confirm if this is true on your 5K? Appreciate it! (Can't trust the only description online, and at the shop it's coated as if it's plastic... no one seems able to confirm) I desperately need to replace my 3K. Avoid the 3K by all means due to its plastic legs, lots of reports and mine too, crack within months or weeks, and the leg segments falling out. It's horrifying when you have your cam grabbing on a pole high up, even I just put a M50 on it. I used to have a DSLR version which is silvery metal legs, heavy duty like 5K which hold 5Dm2, can't remember which version, but it served me well for years until I abused it so much the rubber rings deteriorating and leaving dirt marks everywhere. So you're right, it definitely worth the premium but for the 5K if it's metal. In fact the price is already cheaper than 10+ years ago! 😱😱😱Grab at least one first before adding more other little tripods! I'm a tripod junkie and Gorillapods really deliver and replace what I need with other different few little tripods. If I'm only allowed to chuck one in my bag, surely the Gorillapod! In use, actually, you can stack some boxes or books to raise the gorilla pod, as long as you're not knocking it down. I often grab it on the back of chair or handrail, anything, so height is seldom a problem for me. It goes really low on table that lots other tripods cannot. Change to a Sirui ball head which is relatively cheap but surprisingly great quality than my old Gitzo ballheads, you can go any weird angles. Great for close up macro shots. (I always give away the Joby ballheads if I'm forced to buy the set) You can also flip the gorilla pod upside down or sideway, using its legs as a 3rd hand holding objects that you're shooting, which is very handy as I always shoot alone.
Of the four tripods I own, two of them are shown here. (Neewer Mini & Joby 5K) All of them shown here look good quality. Though really bad experience with Joby's customer service - not good.
Currently I'm using an Amazon basics tripod and a suntan 5555dlx tripod I got on sale for $10 at best buy with the canon sl2! I really need to get a microphone now but I'm all out of money
hey ! I am making a hard desicion if i should og With the Neewer mini tripod, or the Joby Gorillapod 3K kit. I wil use it for landscape photography in the Dolemites. Any help ??
Great tips Sean, thanks. I use a Benro PP1, it's small and compact and ideal for either table top or as a Walk and Talk. Overall height is approx 16cm (6 1/2 in) plus camera or Smartphone holder. It has a lockable ball joint to enable landscape or portrait or micro shots and the legs are trianguar and, closed together, create a handy grip for out and about shooting videos or selfies etc. I got it off Ebay for about £17, guess that would be close to $18/19. 👍😃
Thank you for such great content. I'm trying to put together a setup that is somewhat multi-functional as I invest and build from there. I'm search for a solution to use the gorillapod to hold a standard mic clip (preferably a mic housed in a shock mount, which was a wonderful gift given to me that I want to make good use of). The threading is similar to a standard mic clip, or mic stand. How did you outfit gorillpod to hold a standard mic clip? What adapters would I need to get? And this would serve as a desktop mic stand, as well as transformed into my videoing station as well. Would the gorillapod or any of the stands you mentioned in this video be good recommendations for this multi-purpose use? Thanks for your help.
How is that ball head level on the Neewer supposed to work? Its plane sits in line with the direction of gravity, as opposed to being 90° to it. The only way I can picture it working, is if you flip the ballhead 90°, so that the plane of the level is perpendicular to the gravity vector, and then level the tripod via leg length fine-tuning, the revert the ballhead to upright. But then the legs are level, and the ballhead can still take any tilt. So, you're back to setting ballhead levelness by eye, without a working level. (Oh, and my hypothetical use mode would require that the flipped position of the ballhead be machined exactly true at 90°.) So, ... what am I missing?
Appreciate the video. I bought the Reticam but now I'm realizing the quick release won't fit when the M50 is plugged into wall power. The charger that connects through the battery door gets in the way of quick-release locking arm. Anyone know of an offset that will allow the camera to sit further away from the plate?
I was able to get the tripod to work by turning the tripod around and unscrewing the adjustable arm so it wasn't in the frame. Unfortunately, this set up doesn't hold the M50 and the Sigma F1.4 - You also need a deep desk in order to get it to sit on your desk. I ended up zip tying it to my monitor stand. I also find that the tripod head won't let the camera sit perfectly level. If I didn't want this to sit over the top of my monitor and had a different lens, this stand would be totally good.
I purchase the 3K version of the gorilla pod from Amazon after watching. Attached the K3 to the 12.9 iPad pro I use as a monitor for the movie pro remote app. One of the legs of the k3 Gorilla pod popped out of the socket connection point of the tripod. Much to my dismay, this weak point of the K3 allowed the 12.9 iPad crash onto the tabletop. Seller never responded to my concerns posted to the amazon seller page. I just wanted to share, thanks for everything, be well, stay safe.

Good evening I would like to know if there's a camera out there with just two buttons one for pictures and one for video I have the AE1 program camera I need a small compact camera with very very less buttons something small I can put in my pocket and take with me on my trip and something under $1,000 thank you Merry Christmas and a blessing 2019 to you and your family LIKE YOUR VIDEOS THANKS AGAIN

Springloft Studio yes! The price actually seems insane at first - but once you get your hands on it - it makes sense. It’s world class!

you seem to know a lot about tripods and how to use them probably and I like that about you
Thank you for such great content. I'm trying to put together a setup that is somewhat multi-functional as I invest and build from there. could the neewer tripod be used for phones too or just cameras
sean could you not have affiliated link with uk xx
Hi Sean cannell
Nimal menachery Hey!
Hey plz suggest me a free video editor
I'm using one for a hand cam
Can anyone please share the detail on the holder of the mobile on the tripod ?
How is that ball head level on the Neewer supposed to work? Its plane sits in line with the direction of gravity, as opposed to being 90° to it. The only way I can picture it working, is if you flip the ballhead 90°, so that the plane of the level is perpendicular to the gravity vector, and then level the tripod via leg length fine-tuning, the revert the ballhead to upright. would a Logitech - StreamCam Plus Webcam work on these ??
#ThinkMedia practical tips, awesome
Hi im a small time youtuber who is looking how to record gameplay on a chromebook any tips or gear recommandations
nice Canadian tuxedo guy
I've got one that the pole comes out and turns over and you can raise it. To do the same.
You're a mind-reader. :)
Nice
