arturias getting much better at the analog emulations, always have to get the korg ms-20 emulations, they look and sound cool and are great fun to play with
The room images for the Piano V have a dollhouse look. The sound is solid. If that is not sample based but physical modeling, that would be impressive.
Arturia presets always have way too much fx processing. Often makes them sound muddy af. Would be nice to have a global "fx off" button. In my opinion, the only updated synth that sounds very good is the Prophet.
$200 seems awfully steep for a 1 rev upgrade on a $500 bundle - especially when they're really only adding a couple of new synths (the rest are just updates of synths we already own). Double that when the MS-20 is a synth many of us already have in the Korg Collection of vsti synths. It's starting to feel like Arturia is innovating less and milking their back catalog for a paycheck.
Tip: if you already have V Collection 8, instead of paying the US$199 full upgrade, just buy the 3 new instruments for US$50 each (Prophet 5, Prophet VS, Piano) and save yourself $50.
still overpriced for long term users.........arturia needs to make the v collection a subscription for long term users so we can pay 75 a year and get all the updates instead making us pay 300 every year to get updates on old fart synths
I currently Own Analog Lab V and I was wondering does the V Collection 9 sound better than Analog Lab V? Was it recorded at a higher sample rate or anything? Thanks
This upgrade is a huge money milk. Absolutely nothing new for me, when I upgraded to V8 the sq80 was already included. The MS-20 I already own in Hardware emulation. The CS-80 V4 still doesn't impress me that much. Prophet is decent, and the augmented stuff is just a bunch of filler they probably wrote in two weeks to create the impression of new things. And now that the "grace period update period" is over they want 299 for that really? It looks like Arturia tries to become the new IK Multimedia. Shame on you, how do you sleep at night?
Awesome first look at the Arturia V Collection 9! Can't wait to explore all the new features and sounds. Thanks for sharing!

I’m so glad I got v collection 8 on sale as I already own an ms 20 mini

it is all physically modeled. i wonder how it compares to pianoteq
No samples at all... completly physically modeled with a ton of control over the mechanics and timbre of the piano models.

I know. It’s like they are trying to make products for techno gods or something.
yeah i usually turn off the reverb at least when browsing presets, it's a shame
Seems good but man with so many collections/vsts you have to update every couple of years or so.
Great vid. I can't find the Apathy Pad on the SQ80 featured in your review. Is this your own patch?

When you update from v8 to v9 you're going to get the SQ80V, MS-20 V, Augmented strings and voices, Prophet-5 V, CS80 V: rebuilt,Piano V: rebuilt.
@@MediaMusik777 I upgraded from v collection 5 to 8 for $100. Be patient and wait for sales. You don’t have to upgrade every year.
