Linda was right about washing pots and pans by hand as well as steak and carving knives. I’ve heard the bleach in the d/w makes the knives get dull. I always soak my pots and pans and wash them by hand because they have more residue on them than dishes. I think doing this makes the d/w last longer.

I'm in indiana and I just switched to a gas tankless water heater and gas furnace and I've never been happier. My electricity bill went down 60 dollars per month and the gas bill is nominal 18 per month in spring, summer and fall and 5 months it's about 110.00 for heat. Yes tankless needs maintenance but you should be draining your normal water heater annually as well. It freed up space in my laundry room by going tankless and I never run out of hot water. I am loving it

I had seen one of your videos last year when I planned to visit my ex-SIL in the Villages. When my long-time friend in NY let me know that she was considering buying in The Villages, I sent her this video so she can find out more about The Villages from your channel. You present lots of every-day real-life experiences that will help her choosing a home. For my part, and you might want to file this under Sweet, because I do not mean this as Salty, the feeling that I get from your videos are adult echoes of Romper Room, probably from the format, the basic nature of the topics discussed, the advice given in such a helpful way, and the connection you have with the audience. Lastly, I will say, it is not for me and my husband, but don't let that concern you. It takes all kinds of people to make this world operate. We need each other.

I was an executive with a top 10 national home builder and the vast majority of new homes and all the ones I have seen in TV do not have load bearing floor trusses above the garage. In fact the load bearing component is the roof not the garage ceiling. Therefore there are significant load bearing limitations and only light things should be stored. FYI - Notice how 2x4 cripple studs have been attached vertically from the ladder to the load bearing roof trusses.

We did a lifestyle visit a year ago and loved the Villages and look forward to being snowbirds someday since we love our Wisconsin summers.
We flew a direct flight from an airport near Green Bay, WI to Sanford. It was nice and easy, we rented a car for the week and loved using the golf cart provided with our visit. We did use the rental vehicle more at night to help navigate the areas we weren’t familiar with around the Brownwood area where our Lifestyle visit was.

We got a recirculating system for our hot water heater a year ago. I don't know if it's because of the way our house is laid out, but we did not like the constant humm it made. My husband put its power plug to be Alexa-enabled, so we just need to tell "her" to turn it 'on' a couple minutes before we think we may want it on, and also tell her to turn it off.

I had the same problem with taking forever to get hot water to my kitchen sink, I solved the problem by putting a small 110 volt instant hot water heater under the sink, it gives you warm but not hot water until the hot water arrives, then it's very hot. Sanford (SFB) is a nice small airport, without the crowds of the big Orlando (MCO) airport, the only problem with Sanford is, it only has 2-3 airlines that fly out of it, Allegiant and Sun Country, and I think a Canadian budget airline.

I have a 50 gallon water heater in the garage. It takes 2 or 3 minutes to get hot water to the kitcehn or to the shower in the master bath.
I keep thinking that I would take out the corner lazy susan in the kitchen and replace it with a 10 gallon electric water heater.
I would tap into the hot water line that is already luke warm and then there will be 10 gallons right there for the dishwasher, and filling up pots on the stove.

(Suzie) Hi you guys! Just listening to Jerry complaining about the length of time it takes to get hot water at the kitchen sink. We didn't like it either, so my husband put in a little 2 gallon water tank under the sink (doesn't take up much room) and now I get instant hot water. Works like a charm. In our old house in Texas we had water tanks and we installed a pump and got instant circulating hot water all over the house. 2 gallons doesn't sound like much, but by the time that runs out, you'll get hot water from your tankless heater.

For Airport or Cruise ship transportation needs, we use Blue Line Services and Dave's Transportation for black car service. Both VERY reliable, and the best options for individual needs. We believe their charges are very fair given toll charges, and after returning from a 2 month trip to Europe, they were there at the cruise port to pick us up as soon as we were off the ship. HIGHLY recommend both! (Dave's currently does not drive to the cruise ports, and recommended Blue Line Services that does).

So funny that someone asked about the cold water. I was thinking this morning how nice it is that the water doesn't come out too cold. I really like the lukewarm water. And I have an on demand hot water heater and I actually prefer it. I never worry about running out of hot water. When a couple of my kids were here I reminded them they don't have to worry about what length of shower they take. I live in the new section down south and I have a gas stove and I was very excited to have it. But at some point I think I'm gonna switch to electric because they are are easier to clean and I think heat the kitchen less. At least the flat glass top ones. Miss that Gizmo at the end. 😢

They are light bulbs for the attic and you just replace the light bulb you all ready have with the garage light bulb and man are they bright. They are LED so they do not get hot. The air conditioner people love them when they have to come and service the handler upstairs in the attic because it lights up the attic. A single box for 1 is about $10.00. Stanford I was just looking and it is such a smaller airport. Easier to get through

It used to be really small but has grown a lot. Still not as big as MCO.

I loved the bird whistle video. Not every video needs to be 40 minutes.

The fees do vary slightly as I live down south of 44 and my monthly amenity fee for November is only $176.70.

Ours is $191, we live in Marsh Bend. A few of my neighbors have amenities fees about $4 lower because they bought a few months before we did. Good answer Jerry! $189 is across the board if you buy now.

I’m also surprised at the number of salty comments you reported. Your videos are fun! Also, I have a tankless water heater and it far exceeds a regular water tank. I will never go back. Who doesn’t love endless hot water?

Tampa actually takes less time cuz the traffic is less than MCO. I live in fenney

In our experience car services will run you about a $100 or even more each way.

I really like your blue 👕t-shirts today, the color compliments both of you. Warm water 💦out of the faucets must have been a big adjustment. 👩🏻‍🦳Bri from SoCal

I would not say a big adjustment, but it is obvious that it's not as cold as we had in Indiana.

We always fly into MCO and bring our Garmin GPS with us. When we lived in Palm Beach in the early 90s, we had Palmetto Bugs. One of them was very social and would watch me watch TV, LOL. I would have to bang my dishwasher before opening it, so gross. Every time I entered the bathroom, they'd run down the drain. Again, so gross. If you want some REALLY good seafood, PLEASE do yourself a favor and try out Celebration Town Tavern in downtown Celebration. 1000% worth the drive. We recently booked a vacation JUST so we could eat here several times, it's THAT good!

Speaking of airports you said Tampa airport is 87 miles away and should take 1 hour and 29 minutes. My experiences of driving in Fl is it should only take about 1 hour and 10 minutes as everyone drives around 95 miles and hour not the posted speed limit lol.

We are coming down for a month in April. How far ahead do you know what is going on in entertainment in TV? Also, love your recommendation for restaurants. I always jot them down on 'My Things to Do While in TV'. Thanks!

    • @JERRYANDLINDA
      @JERRYANDLINDA  ปีที่แล้ว

At the big venues like the Morse, and the Savannah you can know a couple of months ahead of time. If you are talking about nightly entertainment in the squares, that comes out each month.

Whoever that guy was who asked about the roof. Just an FYI, almost all cities in New Jersey now prohibit a second roof over an existing roof. You must do a complete tear off each time. This has changed within the last 12 years since I had my roof done.
