So this is the first time I’ve even attempted a proper vocal warmup in about 3 years. I use to be in choir and vocal lessons and was doing really well and able to hit my whistle tones and at my peak had a 4 octave range! Needless to say if you don’t use it you lose it! Was bummed I could barely hit any high soprano notes but hopefully a bit of practice I can hit them once again. Thank you!!

I just want to say a few things. This is the best warm-up video I have found yet. I felt like I was back in my choir class. You are really good at this so keep it up. Also, I just feel so zen after this practice
I used to find the last two exercises impossible to do at the top of the range until I followed your method of vowel placement first on your PDF guide to your channel, Jeff. Today I got right through the exercise and hit all of the notes and it was all down to proper vowel placement which I learned by following the proper sequence of exercises as per your guide.

Because of lack of practice I’ve lost all my technique and most of my range, so I can’t wait to start working on it again!
Ex vocal performance major here. Love these warmups. I'm a soprano but I found the lower versions of this warmup to be very nice as well :) especially because I stopped singing classically for 3 years! I sing acoustic sets at bars and literally never use my soprano range 😭 at least I have these warmups!!
I have literally always been a Soprano 2 Except for 7th grade (when I was a Soprano 1) Literally nothing has changed. But it's weird and interesting because I can sing super low and kind of high but the gap between them is huge and hard to build a bridge on.
Thank you so much! This was the best warm up I found on TH-cam. It was the only one that really opened up my voice and helped release throat tension :)
Thank you so much for this. I have been doing this everyday for for 3 weeks because I became the lead singer of a band. Thank you for helping with this musical expression. I can tell its your passion.
You are absolutely wonderful. Thank You for doing this for us. I know others are benefiting from your talent. Our music teachers in school did not teach us like this. Our church teachers did not do this either. You are a delightful teacher.
I haven’t done a show in almost 4 years due to the pandemic. Theater used to be everything to me, and I always had fun. A few months ago I decided I was tired of just going to work, coming home, and repeating, I wanted something to do again that made me happy. And I decided I wanted to start warming up my voice again and audition for a show. So I found your video and have been using it ever since. Because of your warm ups, I auditioned for Cinderella, and not only got in, but am an understudy! After 4 years of not singing or doing anything kind with my voice! So thank you, and I hope you know how good you are!
Sang alto my whole life knowing I could “hit” high notes because of my perfect pitch but my tone never being good and then suddenly my last year of college Acapella I was put on soprano and now that I’ve graduated and am trying out for community choir I simply cannot hit the alto range required anymore so time to develop my upper range 10/10 exercises
Jeff! Thank you for posting your warm-ups! This one is especially great for singing classical requiems that keep the soprano section near the top or above the staff for torturous numbers of measures! This warm-up is heaven sent!
As a young singer, this has been really helpful! I used to not even be able to touch the highest notes but now I’m closer to being able to sing them! Thank you so much Jeff!
Thanks for your response I mean is a exercises for a coloratura like runs & riffs ,lip trill or in head voice, anything to enchance our ability ... Michael🙋🙋🙋
I have not been singing for various reasons for several years. When I started again this time, I realized I needed to be very, very gentle with myself, start low and slow, and progress little by little... instead of trying to sing my full range right off the bat, feeling discouraged, and possibly injuring my voice Jeff Rolka's videos have been perfect!! I am a soprano, but I started with the gentlest mezzo warm-up. After I felt confident and comfortable, I moved to using the 15-minute full range mezzo warm-up. Then, the 20+ minute one. Now I start with the 15 min mezzo full range, then move to this 15 min soprano full range. I can't do this one comfortably yet, but I am seeing definite progress. Just as I did when I started with the mezzo warm ups. Some of the top notes I had to skip at first, then gently try and practice. I love, love, love these warm ups because they are so methodical, consistent, and truly build on each other. I especially love the consistent progression between vowels. I did feel free, as Jeff says in one of his videos, to play around with which vowels I am singing, starting with the ones that were easiest, going from there into a vowel that was challenging, and repeating that until the challenging vowel found its "place," so to speak, and I could sing it as well as the others. I am feeling grateful and confident as I get my singing muscles back. I appreciate this methodical, consistent approach. Thanks Jeff! :)
I really like your warm-ups, but I’m wondering why you don’t use pure Italian/Latin vowels? Is it because you are more of a pop singer/coach? Especially the “ooo” vowel... sounds like “ew” Just curious?
Ahhh I'm soo excited I found this channel! I'm so happy because I have been trying to find a channel that has good warm ups that I like and you have videos for all three parts I sing, soprano, alto and tenor

Countertenor isn’t a voice type. It’s just bass baritone and tenor. Countertenor is a style of singing in opera where males sing with head-voice and falsetto.
Jeff you don’t understand how amazing this warmup is I can now hit all of the whistle notes on Mariah Carey emotions I will be watching this everyday and be sharing to all my friend Jeff thank you so much!!!❤❤❤
I completely lost my voice 6 months ago from a dreadful virus and my vocal chords were swollen for 4-5 months afterwards. They've checked them again recently and they're physically fine now (thankfully), but I find it impossible to move up into my head voice - my voice just breaks off. I just found this and I was able to do all except the highest chords of the last few exercises - I hope if I keep doing this every day it'll come back to me soon. Thank you!!
Take your time and be gentle with yourself. You may have to have some patience in this, even more than you've already shown. When we lose vocal function like that, there's no substitute for patience and time.
Thank you! I try to keep it light-hearted! Plus, I'm always thinking on the fly when I'm making these videos. Sometimes, I remember an old lesson or person with whom I was working and I realize that I might adjust the exercise just a bit, and perhaps help a bit more. Thank you! Jeff

Thank you so much for this magnificent warm up! Been looking for a way to exercise the good ol' chords. You're a legend!
Thank you! Enjoy the channel and keep singing!
Best,
Jeff
Jeff - i appreciate all you do with these videos. they've really helped my vocals. you're wonderful!
I am a soprano but I also sing Second Soprano. I also went to region 18 district region for Texas.
Mary Murray Wow, good job! That’s hard to do 👏🏻👏🏻 I was one rank away from all region :(
"consider sharing! sharing is kind." I love that .... can't believe how blessed we are to have you on the platform. thank you as always !!!!
Thank you so much! Thanks for your kind words, and of course, thanks for sharing!!!
Best!
Jeff
Sho nuff! BLESSED..with Jeff, is right! 😄🎶🎹🎤
I LOVE that lip trill trick, holding the sides of your mouth. Thank you. Oh, that makes it so much easier to focus on the air control.
Thank you for your kind words! Enjoy the warm ups and have fun at the gigs!
I'm originally a Alto 2, but for TMEA this year I'm doing Sop 2 and I needed this
Congrats on your amazing, strong, and impressive range!!!!
I have literally always been a Soprano 2
Except for 7th grade (when I was a Soprano 1)
Literally nothing has changed.
But it's weird and interesting because I can sing super low and kind of high but the gap between them is huge and hard to build a bridge on.
Thank you so much! This was the best warm up I found on TH-cam. It was the only one that really opened up my voice and helped release throat tension :)
Thank you! SO wonderful how these exercises don't damage the voice. THANK YOU!!
I got lost at 9:10, the YOU-WEE-YOU-WEE 😂 started freestyled hoping I was in sync 🤦🏻♀️
Me too dude, omg 😬😂
Thank you so much for this. I have been doing this everyday for for 3 weeks because I became the lead singer of a band. Thank you for helping with this musical expression. I can tell its your passion.
Really helpful to get up to the high notes without pain and strain. Thanks so much!
Agreed!
you're just what I wanted. Your videos are really fabulous and useful. thank you very much.
I subscribed to your channel. Greetings from Italy
Thank you Jeff. This is perfect. I've been using this a few times a week to prepare for performances.
Sir, i did this warm up and hit a note I was trying to pull off for weeks without it sounding edgy. Thank you so much
I’m a tenor but I decided to do this *bad idea*
I made it through mezzo, but there is a big jump from mezzo to soprano.
You are absolutely wonderful. Thank You for doing this for us. I know others are benefiting from your talent. Our music teachers in school did not teach us like this. Our church teachers did not do this either. You are a delightful teacher.
Thank you so much, Jacqueline. I appreciate it! I hope you enjoy the videos!
All the best,
Jeff
Timeless warm up❤️
Thank you!
High praise! Thank you so much!
Jeff
I haven’t done a show in almost 4 years due to the pandemic. Theater used to be everything to me, and I always had fun. A few months ago I decided I was tired of just going to work, coming home, and repeating, I wanted something to do again that made me happy. And I decided I wanted to start warming up my voice again and audition for a show. So I found your video and have been using it ever since. Because of your warm ups, I auditioned for Cinderella, and not only got in, but am an understudy! After 4 years of not singing or doing anything kind with my voice! So thank you, and I hope you know how good you are!
Awesome! That's what these videos are here for! Break a leg!
Sang alto my whole life knowing I could “hit” high notes because of my perfect pitch but my tone never being good and then suddenly my last year of college Acapella I was put on soprano and now that I’ve graduated and am trying out for community choir I simply cannot hit the alto range required anymore so time to develop my upper range 10/10 exercises
i auditioned for a state opera and always warmed up with you turns out i got the part thanks so much
Great warm ups and I like the inspirational Tardus in the background. Thanks!
Great warmups and love your calm persona!
This will help along side my singing lessons.
This has really been done a lot for my voice Thanks
Jeff! Thank you for posting your warm-ups! This one is especially great for singing classical requiems that keep the soprano section near the top or above the staff for torturous numbers of measures! This warm-up is heaven sent!
My pleasure!
Really such a fabulous resource for serious singers. Thank you.
Whew this warm up had me questioning if I am a soprano - I am rusty and need this warm up vid
As a young singer, this has been really helpful! I used to not even be able to touch the highest notes but now I’m closer to being able to sing them! Thank you so much Jeff!
i always come back to this video! gives me a quick but thorough warm up every time 🙏 thank you so much Jeff!!
Excellent Lauren! I'm glad that you're finding it useful! Thank you for subscribing, btw, I appreciate it!
Jeff
0:41 for all the regulars!
Tnx
Thank you❤
These exercises are definitely helping as long as I drop out when I feel myself tensing up.
Hope you can work a video about coloratura soprano and tenor exercises........
thank you ....
Mr.Jeff Rolka
Sure! Let me give it some thought!
All the best,
Jeff
Thanks for your response
I mean is a exercises for a coloratura like runs & riffs ,lip trill or in head voice, anything to enchance our ability ...
Michael🙋🙋🙋
Excellent! Yes I haven't done an agility video in a long time. Definitely on the 'to do' list!
Best,
Jeff
Thank you babe
Coloratura soprano yes we need them omg
I love all your videos. It's been like three years or more that I use them, and I keep coming back. Thanks a Lot.
Glad you like them! Thanks for being here all that time!
Thank you Jeff, you are the best...my teacher does nothing of these
Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate that!
Jeff
I have not been singing for various reasons for several years.
When I started again this time, I realized I needed to be very, very gentle with myself, start low and slow, and progress little by little... instead of trying to sing my full range right off the bat, feeling discouraged, and possibly injuring my voice
Jeff Rolka's videos have been perfect!!
Wonderful to hear! I'm very glad that my videos have been here to assist you! Keep it up and enjoy!
Jeff
I love your tardis light!!
Jeff you have very much helped me smooth out my range without breaks!
love warming up with you - thank you for posting this!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Jeff
I really like your warm-ups, but I’m wondering why you don’t use pure Italian/Latin vowels? Is it because you are more of a pop singer/coach? Especially the “ooo” vowel... sounds like “ew”
Just curious?
I always thought the ooo was like an ü sound, as in German
Raquel Enns agreed
Would you do a soprano warmup that covers an ever higher range? Love this video
Have done already! Here's one for you:

Jeff
I have a dream to be a Famous Singer!
I hope that happens for you!
Jeff
Ahhh I'm soo excited I found this channel! I'm so happy because I have been trying to find a channel that has good warm ups that I like and you have videos for all three parts I sing, soprano, alto and tenor
Welcome! Thanks for watching! If you have questions, I host live events on Saturdays at 6pm London time every week! Here's a link to next week:

Jeff
When you're a countertenor and there are no counter tenor warm ups
that is what my teacher says i am
I agree I'm a Countertenor as well lol
Countertenor isn’t a voice type. It’s just bass baritone and tenor. Countertenor is a style of singing in opera where males sing with head-voice and falsetto.
Really dude? Just use alto and/or mezzo.
@@marcospintor1333 So are mezzo and soprano not voice types? They use head-voice and falsetto.
Thank you for this!!! I havent warmed up my voice in a long time
I currently have a sore throat and tomorrow my singing teacher is testing my range, this video really helped me have less cracks in my voice!
Wonderful! I still struggle some with the higher notes that this is so helpful thank you for all of your videos!
Recovering from Covid and this is helping a lot.
nobody:
me trying to do this with coronavirus: wEwEWEeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
After 3 years, it is still my favourite warmup video
Jeff you don’t understand how amazing this warmup is I can now hit all of the whistle notes on Mariah Carey emotions I will be watching this everyday and be sharing to all my friend Jeff thank you so much!!!❤❤❤
A very very good video this helps me improve my singing voice and I dream of becoming a star
Not just me but my cats loves when I do your warm ups ❤ thank you!
This is just EXCELLENT. No other way to describe it.
"'And we will begin closer to it" *plays two notes* "Nah, here" *plays lower notes*
I don't know why but I like this part
Thank you! I try to keep it light-hearted! Plus, I'm always thinking on the fly when I'm making these videos. Sometimes, I remember an old lesson or person with whom I was working and I realize that I might adjust the exercise just a bit, and perhaps help a bit more.
Thank you!
Jeff
I would like to wish you a very merry Christmas and happy healthy new year 2019
May we all continue to sing
I'm not a singer, but I love to sing. Thank you for this video! 👏
