Looooooooooove you!!!!!!! I live in Japan and have been teaching phonics for 20 years. Finally, someone who teaches phonics right!!! I have shared your videos with all my teachers here in Japan. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. Loooooooove you!!!!!
I am not a child but I am starting to watch your videos because I need to learn English and I feel that this is the best way to learn and it is how children learn. I know you do it for children and it's incredible that you give such advice and the truth is that you do it very well.
I love this! As a fellow Educator I can say that you’re a great Teacher. Watched a few of your shorts and saw how patient you are with the children and the parents. Not everyone is like this unfortunately. God bless you 🙏🏾
Thanks for this very useful information❤ I actually struggle to help my wife (25 years) how to read. She didn't have chance to go to school and had always worked at the farm since her childhood until we got married 3 years ago. We both want to homeschool our children it's my honor to help both my wife and my child learning how to read together😊
I have a 15 months daughter, she already knows her alphabet and can read syllable thanks to everything you shared online. I still can't believe it. Thanks a lot!
@@spiritualsoulchild Well, I show the letter A and says "A", one letter at a time. That'd be sounds and letters at the same time. Things were actually quick and quite easy (I do it in a singing voice to make it fun) 😀
You have been living in my mind the few months since discovering your channel. On a whim sitting with my three year old grand twins I opened the note pad on my iPhone and wrote a and asked what sound while they were playing. Made it through cat then bat . They became half way intrigued during my teaching attempt and I see the light bulb go off in one, like wait I can read. A week later today, one the girls were sick so they got dropped off at my house today . While they were coloring, trying to use up all my paper 📄. I followed your instructions and made me some cards like yours. Shuffle them and started singing, what sounds does the letter make. I pulled the the letter t. One of girls said t, and I showed the same card and she gave me the sound 🎉🎉🎉🎉 it had taken me so off guard, I erupted with laughter and joy 🤩 and gave out huge hugs, praise and high five 🙌🏽 couldn’t believe she remembered because that twin was barely paying attention during the first lesson. My plan is to invest in your program 💪🏽invaluable content 😊thank you!
Thank you 😊!....I have been the "sit down at the table" teacher and never thought to lighten up and make it fun 🎊...Hearing you say it sounds like the most obvious thing but I still needed to hear it lol....Helps me lighten up alot 🤗...
When my oldest daughter was 3-4 I started teaching her this way. Letter sounds first and once she mastered that blending CVC words. Lots of games and reading books. She naturally picked up on basic sight words just by reading with me. She could read simple books by 4. Teaching her more difficult words or those that don't follow the rules intimidated me, but ultimately I'm not the one who taught her that, her public school did. But she had a good solid foundation. I plan on homeschooling my two youngest children and so this entire process will be fully up to me. I'm a little nervous but this video made me feel much better!
Tip 3 carries over to doing everything, and we all need to hear it. I focused soooo much time learning how to optimize lifting form, programming, timing, and nutrition that it’s more often than not better to just get started. What I now live by when trying to help others get in to lifting is “better than nothing.” Even a little bit goes a long way 👊
Have really started incorporating what I've learnt on this channel in teaching my 2,5 year old to read. The "make it fun" part has spiraled into reading words with a flashlight and a pen under the covers while someone else counts then looks for us then finds us. It's... intense. But she's cooperating and reading simple two letter words so it's most definitely a win :)
My son is 6 years old. I've been watching your videos. And it's been very helpful. He knows the sounds of the letters, and he can say them. Blending, on the other hand..hes just not understanding. We're going to keep trying.
You are so inspiring! I've only just come across your channel and I wish I'd found it when I first started home educating my kids. You've got a new subscriber!
You have really encouraged. I have began homeschooling, and i have met challenges teaching reading to my toddler and i was beginning to feel like a lousy teacher
My brother your lectures are super wanderful ,i have been following lectures and I enjoyed it.I am planning to start a primary school in my village and a English language is a strange language to them. How do we introduce it to them?
Thank you so much I m from 🇵🇰 my son is 7 years old and he is difficult to learn to read English because our language is urdu and Arabic this reason... I really want to he read and speak English fluently. I saw your video yesterday its really help me to teach my kid please share the pattern of word 2,3,4,5 letters words thank you
Oh my gosh you were talking to me and I’m so glad you said it I just need to start I bought the program and it’s been sitting on my phone and I haven’t started because I am also scared but I need to focus and start tomorrow. thank you. I needed to hear that.❤Moe
My nephew as a low interest in learning. He keep running away why because he can not read. A lot of what said in one of you video is the same things I see him doing.. Thank God there is still hope.
Hi, it is nice what you are doing here. English is not my mother tongue it is my 3rd language so it is not that good so for me to teach my child English is not easy. I hope I can find some ideas to help me teaching my child.
2 sweet children without sitting meat on their butts and being distracted by every bird, I try to learn something as a mother. Their report states, quickly distracted and seeing everything that is happening around them. Which makes listening to the teacher quietly in a classroom not very easy for both of them. But as a human being I don't think it's a bad quality. In life they are allowed to be aware of their surroundings and notice things quickly. I just try to teach them how to leave their environment behind at certain times "blur" so that they can keep their attention on the subject they need to learn. Usually they can choose a pop it that they put next to them. Or several little ones next to each other in the pop-it row. If they have given an correct answer or we have arrived at a correct answer, they can press one. If everything has been pressed on the "pop it" then they can, for example, run 2 laps in the garden. They prefer that I set the timer. How quickly can they get around. (so they can try to improve their own time) Then we are back inside and use 2 dice to determine how many sips of water they are "allowed" to drink. (even if they want a glass full afterwards, they will get it. For them it's about the game element) Then you can continue working enthusiastically again. (Your energy is really important because "what monkey sees, what monkey does." Unconsciously they copy the energy. They rely largely on your energy) Then they also want to continue with the game, which we call learning. ;)
Hello sir pls i would like to know, do you think that isolating children from socialising affect the way they learn? For example living in an environment where they stay indoors 28 over 30 days all month.
I taught my son letter sounds at age 2 and he knew them all (just lowercase sounds not names) then had a new baby and stopped reviewing and he forgot some. He is 4 now and I am picking it up again since finding your channel. He is really good at retaining information but I find even when I know he knows the sound he will say something else just to be silly. I am using your tips to get kids to follow directions and making it fun but ever lesson he gets silly and intentional does something different than instructed or says different sounds than the letter we are working with. What do you suggest I do differently?
I'm not sure how long you're teaching or how many sounds, but I often find the lessons are too long or there's too much being covered. You can make a ton of progress in just a few minutes a day with the right focus. My free workshop is really helpful if you haven't seen it yet: www.toddlersread.com/free-workshop
Good afternoon dear friend, I have some questions hopefully you could guide me please. One of my children is 8 is going to second grade so far needs improvement in writing an reading as well as spelling, here at home I’m helping as much as I can but also I want to know what else do they need to learn so I can start reviewing or preparing for second grade please ?
Hi there, I have a few resources that can help. 1. Assess their reading ability to see where it is, and where to go next. 2. Get the info YOU need about phonics to teach them to get to that next level. For assessing- I have this free resource: www.google.com/url?q=www.toddlersread.com/blog/how-to-assess-your-childs-reading-ability-at-home?Dyoutube%26Dorganic%26D&sa=D&source=editors&ust=1687637933242494&usg=AOvVaw0UWczECKkrE2wHJLC_Txk1 For your learning, I have 3 online courses for parents/caregivers giving them everything you need to teach your kid. More info here- www.toddlersread.com/courses? I also have a free training on my website if you want to check it out!
hello teacher , I'm new on your channel and I like your method so could you tell me witch video should I start with to learn my child [31 month] and I would like to know if it's the right age or I'm late at all .. thank you for your answer I will appreciate it
Thanks . You know I have a daughter 2 year old .I think she is smart and interested in reading and I was keen on teaching her but I don't know how and everyone around said she is too small to start now . But yesterday I came across your video on YT and I was so delighted to discover you and I m hooked to the channel .Thanks for reaching out to moms like me .
I'm going to give these tips a try with my almost 3 year old. I need to get tip number 3 imprinted in my mind😅 Also, at what point then would I teach her how to recognise the actual letter instead of the phonetic sound? Is it even relevant/necessary?
Hi, am from India and English is not our mother tongue. We speak our regional language to the kid at home on a daily basis. So when i read english books to my kid... I often translate to the mother tongue thinking she would understand better is that ok? Or do i need to keep reading in English only fr my kid to picks up the language. Am pretty confused on this. Please help
Hi there, I have many families in my courses who teach reading in English while still speaking both/all languages, and some that teach reading in two at a time. I'd recommend checking out my free workshop to learn more about how learning to read works to help you make those decisions. www.toddlersread.com/free-workshop
