- When a bucket of potatoes is harvested the bucket and soil become available for more work provided there is some 'growing weather' still ahead of us. In this video I plant some Leeks in a bucket of soil that's just delivered some potatoes.
And for those who think it cant be done, here's some I grew earlier. studio.youtube...

Whenever our politicians do something mind-numbingly stupid I like to harvest and store veggies. I find that seeing food on the shelves is a great stress relief. No matter what the idiots who run the country do there will be food on the table, and very GOOD food at that.
And so today I will harvest a little more of a raised bed and plant pepper seedlings where the 10 stalks of sweet corn were. And we can have sweet corn with lunch, and probably potato salad with dinner. Food is always wonderful when the garden is producing.
Hello Terri. We've just changed our government in the UK. Hope we've made the right choice, hope you do too. Jim.
@@HomeGrownVeg in 6 months time we will choose between a deeply dishonest man and a man who is showing signs of dementia. I hope we make the right choice also
Maggie’s right on time with her rope😊
Rope or ball it doesn't matter. Dig a hole its dropped in there, put the washing basket down its dropped in there, work in the wheelbarrow its dropped in there. No pretending you can't see it, its under your nose.
@@HomeGrownVeg clever girl!

Did you bury Maggie’s treat in the lawn? She is definitely scenting 😂😂. Her tail never stops, like the Duracell bunny, bless her.

@@HomeGrownVeg oh what a lovely video! Thank you for sharing the link.
I replanted mine with some bunching onions(Japanese) which can get really big, lettuce and turnips. Ps- One can indeed get new onions from a sprouted onion. Let the onion grow awhile, then tear off the rotten outer layer. I had 3 green inners with stock and a bit of roots. I planted very shallow. As of July 7th, I have 3 small bulbs. To be honest, it's not worth the extra work and one would be best to just plant the onion and eat the greens.
Most vegetables even when decapitated will try to regrow given a chance. It looks attractive to new gardeners and so they 'give it a go', don't even need to get their hand dirty. It invariably doesn't work or the results are disappointing. Growing from seed's the way to go. Thanks for the comment Greg. Jim.
@@HomeGrownVeg The results were indeed disappointing. However I wanted to try an experiment. Have a good one, Jim!
@@gregzeigler3850 That's how we find out what works and what doesn't. Have a good growing year yourself. Jim.
