Not going to do this very often, that's for sure, but I'm glad that I'm doing it. Hi Katie, (This comment is regarding your last lesson and carrying into this one) I thought I knew the Island strum by ❤️, until I started counting with you 1(+)2+(3)+4+... for some reason counting while strumming throws me off😯 So from this newbie, thanks for the tip/challenge to count with the strumming, I will keep practicing. Enjoying this series!
I think it’s a gift to be able to hear something and just play it, so don’t disregard your gift 😀. Everyone learns differently, and the way you were able to pick up on the island strum before is absolutely valid. I just wanted to affirm you. Keep on strumming.

Hi Katie, it's Don in Florida :-) I really like this tutorial today it's a fun easy song to play and to sing along. Also since yesterday I was saying to you that I was a little uncoordinated with the thumb up strum. But I've been working hard on it, and it's much easier today, but I wanted to ask you a question. I'm able to upstream with my thumb using the left side of my nail and fleshy part of my thumb. I don't want to form any bad habits right off the bat, but is that sufficient, or should it be the whole nail only with the upstream? Thanks again, and I love your smile and voice. Thanks for doing what you're doing for us beginners😇
I think it sounds fine to me. Come to think of it, that's what I do too when I strum up with my thumb.
Hello Katie,I I tried to sing this song and I strumming it quite well but for the first time I can't sing this song vocally at the same time whit the struming, I loose the rhytm when I start sing it. Can you give me some advice, please?
