The fact that ANY automaker is offering a large-sized saloon is a win for consumers. Too many either are or headed to an all SUV line-up. It is one thing if the marque is synonymous for SUVs, but I am sure there are many consumers that may need the people room moreover than cargo room. The SUV craze is a predominant thing in the United States, but in other parts of the world, many SUVs are simply too large for their roads. I also understand that some marques are using the SUV as a means of self-financing their more common offerings (i.e. Lamborghini and Ferrari). The respective offerings are large enough to offer room for 4 with luggage, but not overly large that it cannot fit narrower roads or be considered a truck. To answer the question posed, the Audi A8 and Jaguar XJ (RIP to the Brit) have been my preferences. To me, understated elegance is more luxurious than overt opulence; thus, being able to stand the test of time. The industry itself has been stating the same thing. The over-reliance of screens will bite an automaker in the back of the hand, aging a vehicle faster than those that adopt restrained evolutions of classic designs.
5.6 0-60 for 5k pound vehicle isn’t bad. My Type S is low 5’s for Turbo 6. If we all recall, not long ago, caddies and Towncars were in the 7-8 second range on v-8s.
I had a 2015 S class and even though I do prefer the styling of the Mercedes to me now owning an A8 it has a better ride than the Mercedes. With that said, I probably will get another S class at some point, but if the new A8 is nice we may stay with Audi.
Im not into cars but i have the audi a3 2023 why does it seem like the a3 2022 and beyond is the only model that has changed in terms of its interior and the rest of the models are waiting for newer interior designs … please enlighten me lol
I currently have a 740i with 20k miles already having electrical issues. Good thing for manufacturers warranty. But I digress. The Audi has more gadgets and amenities, especially for rear passengers.
Genesis G90😂, is not in Benz Audi or BMW class..... don't know why you're mentioning them, Genesis is literally a German knockoff Genesis even hired the Germans old engineers just to create a car that's been created decades & decades ago...nothing original about Genesis, nothing mastered by Genesis. Benz has the best luxury & tech, Audi is known for their quattro AWD system, precision steering & innovations, BMW we know is the Ultimate Performer. Genesis, like Lexus (reliability isn't a thing in this class that's for Toyotas) & Infiniti haven't mastered anything, isn't known for anything other than doing what the Germans do after the Germans do it. And the Heritage of the Germans can't be matched. Only car luxury (w/o much luxury) company to come out entirely new was Tesla. Tesla (though I have 0 like for racist Elon) created a new and different vehicle ....they followed in no ones footsteps.

Really need to drive the 4L V8. V6 is a dog in this thing, too heavy.
Yeah the S8 with the 4.0L twin turbo V8 is quick for a huge sedan like this. It provides a lot of great power that this car needs.
Maybe so but it is a nightmare to service with the V8
@@jamesmaccari9128 Why would the V8 be a nightmare to service?

The wraparound light show in the S-class interior strikes me as a little bit garish. The interior of the A8 is a bit more conventional and elegant.
Audi going the Infinti route and forgetting to update their vehicles.
Doesn’t need an update it’s the most solid luxury car all around
Yeah. Why do you need an update. This interior is so much better than the crap that most luxury automobiles are churning out nowadays.
U obviously know nothing about Audi

Ironic seeing this comment after the recent Audi updates. They should have never upgraded. The A8 is on the hit list.
we waiting for the next generation
2024 Audi A8L 55 3.0L TFSI V6 8-Speed Tiptronic Quattro AWD Black Optic Package!
It’s a very nice spec.
The shoes.... Are they a lucky pair?
Ben, these A8s are more comfortable than the Benz and old 7 series. The new 7 series may be slightly better. That said, the A8s are more reliable
Audi and reliable do not go together 😂
@@moe1992nor does it go with bmw or mercdes

It is purchased more than an A8 so they do this to appeal to the higher volume buyers who could be potential repeat customers
It's my company car. Understated gorgeousness.
It is quite literally a Lexus LS460L but with better performance and less reliability.
Nice video
Better off getting the bmw 740i all I have to say it wow Audi has a long way to go

Be nice people ...
Not much changes since 2019
for that much money, why don't you just buy a benz..
Lux+Perf=Audi.
Slurring your words again I hear
Mustache too heavy.
@@Destroyer-Grizzly-BIH haha!
"It's very quiet too". Dude, you haven't gone above 5 mph and you're currently at a stop. Also, no music playing. OF COURSE IT'S VERY QUIET!
Have the 2022 A8L and I wasted my time watching this hoping for something new…smh
No car with a V6 is worth $100k.
Dino 246? Buick GNX? Lancia Stratos? I could go on.
also ford GT
Build quality and engineering.
Have you ever heard of porsche. Goes around turns like no other
very nice car! :) ;)
Also, Mercedes has nothing to worry about
Agreed, I sold Audi for 4 years and now am with MB. Look at what you see on the road, probably at least 20 S-class cars to 1 A8
You could clean your shoes at least 🤔
Believe me when i say that its not worth the money. Whoever designed the interior...oof.
Try sitting in one.
Mid.. In a good way. A little low key

This car is so outdated
Too conventional, old fashion lines, with too low nav panel, Genesis is still way ahead..🎉
You really think so? Please explain?
Genesis is not in this class, it's junk within two years of ownership
