    Jeremy was singing the higher part before the key change, then Cheyenne took the "soprano" line after the key change, so I guess they took turns being on top. ;)

    I think I have watched this at least 100 million times, possible more. These men are soooooo incredibly talented. The song was presented with such style and grace. Two beautiful men with equally beautiful voices. Can you imagine going to bed with a voice of angels singing you to sleep. Your children will love you for so many things, we admire you both for the gift of music, thank you.

    I've listened to a LOT of Jeremy Jordan, and watched this video carefully many times. I'm almost 100% sure Jeremy Jordan is singing the top harmony before the key change but afterwards, Cheyenne is the one singing the soprano notes. You can tell if you watch them closely who's singing what.

      Jeremy did hit the Eb and F for the top harmony at the end of the song. Excellent, healthy rock mix into falsetto. Great technique.

      +Sam Matthews I should say... I am impressed... I need to watch it again... The switch happened in the middle of the last verse at 3:10... Great eye for details Sam.... ^___^
      I love both guys and they are my favorites along with Jonathan Groff and Aaron Lazar...

      I'm not sure what all the debate is about. These two obscenely gifted men with beautiful voices gave a wonderful performance. Cheyenne Jackson, with a 4.5 octave voice, was singing the high notes. I teach voice, studied at Conservatoire de musique de la Ville de Luxembourg and I am finishing up my PhD at Universiteit van Amsterdam.

  • @osnapitzjared
    @osnapitzjared 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Cheyenne does the higher notes.
    My proof (play at .5 or .25 speed):
    3:18, Jeremy's telegram cuts out before Cheyenne's.
    3:20 look at Cheyenne's open vowel. Jeremy has more of a closed mouth.
    3:59 Jeremy, who is carrying the melody cuts off, and for a split second, Cheyenne held out longer.

    it's definitely Cheyenne on the top harmony after the key change. His mouth movements match the vocals exactly while Jeremy's notes are shorter, you can see it clearly.

    For the people debating who is singing which part- look at how far they are holding their mics on the final note. Jeremy is holding it far away because him chest belting the low part would overpower Cheyenne’s falsetto high part if not.

  • @andystover1013
    @andystover1013 11 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    True but it's Cheyenne who hits the F

  • @supkenken426

    Cheyenne takes the high notes after the key change. How I could tell? Jeremy doesn’t sound like that when he’s that high on that octave lol it’s usually more full sounding.

    Coming back to this video, I think, is it even worth it trying to compare Cheyenne to Jeremy? They're both already very successful Broadway actors, so I think it doesn't even matter who sings better, who sings higher, I think we should already be happy that two of them have blessed us with this video.

  • @lucyq1445
    @lucyq1445 8 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Jeremy is singing the high notes even after the key change, you can tell the differences in their voices and also Jeremy is holding the microphone farther away from his mouth when he gets up there

    • @thejoyfulelizabeth
      @thejoyfulelizabeth 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lucy Q it is Cheyenne at the end.

    • @lucyq1445
      @lucyq1445 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Elizabeth Joy I really don't think so. if you look you see Cheyenne finishing a phrase slightly sooner than Jeremy and that matches the lower voice. And Jeremy's position matches Alice's from the original production

    • @lucyq1445
      @lucyq1445 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've thought abt this maybe a little too much

    • @vindomramvindomram4394
      @vindomramvindomram4394 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lucyq1445 But Cheyenne is most likely mixing causing him to hold the mic closer because a heady mix like that is not gonna be louder than a belt from the chest. I'd just like to think they took turns, I'm well aware both could hit either of the notes.

    Long story short:
    me, sad. Funny thing happens: a video is recommended of 2 of my fave singers and goals as a human singing a song titled "Who will love me as I am"
    Long story less short:
    I'm kinda sad and down because I think I like a girl m. At the same time, I feel I'm not wanted so since I don't like bothering anyone I'm pushing people away to get some distance and cope with it.
    It is probably me the one who is creating the illusion I'm not wanted as I see myself not worthy, or maybe I'm just not worthy of her. Either way, I'm worthy as a whole human being so that's okay I guess
    This is funny stuff

    No, I don't think that F is in a "mix" or whatever you would call it. It sounds pretty head-y to me. Gethsemane is a far more forward placement.

    Everything after the last key change gave me anxiety. Screechy and pitchy. Disjointed. Everything before it was good. For me, there was no chemistry or connectedness. They were just singing notes. They’re beautiful men and actually have wonderful voices. Cheyanne has always been so gorgeous and sexy. But this felt forced and chaotic.

    Side Show was a horrid show, poorly staged, an awful book and score and good but overrated performances. And the finale was downright stupid...these characters did not deserve mistreatment but an audience should not be expected to villanize men who are too afraid to marry Siamese twins.
