Pentatonix is the only a Capella group that could ever have performed so flawlessly! Mitch in his Vader attire was spectacular as were all of them!✌❤🇨🇦

I just love this. I think it's one of their most under-appreciated performances. And those who wish it was just PTX don't understand the privilege and prestige that went along with this occasion. They excelled.

I know!! Why do ppl wanna be all negative about things?! I think they are awesome in everything they do! Kevin plays his cello in some of their songs, & it all sounds amazing!! They are artists - let them flourish & grow as the years go by!
It was the American Music Awards. Not quite the Oscars or Grammies, but still quite prestigious.

Some ptx fans aren't particularly fond of them being with an orchestra but they did 2 concerts at the Hollywood bowl with an orchestra and I felt the 5 of them loved it and I grew up going to symphony concerts with my mom so I love it too.
As someone who'd been to a few concerts of theirs before going to the Hollywood bowl show, I will say I didn't hate them being backed by an orchestra but it sure took away from some of their magic on stage. Also depended on the song. When they performed Aha, having an orchestra behind them actually made the song seem more intense. I probably wouldn't have liked it as much had it been my first time seeing them. Because they were with the symphony they had to be much more subdued than normal. No choreography or even moving on stage. They had to sing every song in a straight line.
I saw where a reporter chased after Scott at the airport and berated him for not really being A Capella because they sang with an orchestra. Something that they were asked to do. Scott was very classy and just said that they were very happy with the performance. Seriously, an amazing, internationally recognized A Capella group was asked by the AMA to perform with an orchestra, nail it and knock it out of the park, but some little people are all in their face about it.
And yes, PTX is in Pitch Perfect 2. They play the Canadian group towards the end.
I've been a MASSIVE Star Wars fan since the age of 8, when the movies came out originally. I've loved every iteration of Star Wars, the prequals, the original trilogy, the novels, the graphic novels. Unfortunately, we know what's happened to the fandom these days. And, my love for the franchise has taken quite a hit. My love of Pentatonix, though, is unshaken. And, I love what they did here. I could wish, as many others have said in the past, that it would've been just PTX but, I'll take what I can get of them and love it anyway.

And yet with all that blending they still stood out as a group. They were a part of that orchestra but never lost their own presence.

Yes they were showing anna kendrick because of the a cappella thing. I think the first one came out in like 2012 maybe? My first reaction to this was that i almost wished for just ptx, no orchestra, but then someone pointed out that it was a tribute to the composer, not a ptx performance. I love this performance. Avi resonates with the cello when they include kevin’s cello playing during a song.. particularly “say something”.. his voice and the cello are almost indistinguishable. It’s amazing.

Love Star Wars. They did a great job, though they didn't need each other. You should check out both of Peter Hollen's "Star Wars Medley" one with Lindsey Stirling and one with Sky Does Minecraft.

Love this performance of theirs. I never get tired of hearing it. Great reaction you had to it. BTW, you have 2 Vice Presidents that are from Maine as well as a very well known writer, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I’m sure there are other famous people as well; that I can’t remember right now. Maine is a beautiful state. I used to visit there every summer when I was growing up.

What a great tribute to Star Wars. PTX was just superb as always.
What was fun was hearing them talk about this after. They were all looking at each other and asking "Did that just happen?" The level of our-lives-are-unbelievable was through the roof after this particular paid gig.

They are all perfect, as usual. Did you notice at the end, during the applause, someone screams out "PENTATONIX!!"?! (If I had been there, it would have been 2 people! Lol!). Talk at ya next time! Great reaction. Even with the full orchestra behind them them stood out. I am glad they had a chance to show off their vocals before the orchestra kicked in. No other group or person could of done this. Love PTX!

By the way NO is sassy Mitch at his best and Jolene covered hundreds of times, sung with cracker barrel setting WITH Dolly Parton herself, got her first Grammy for Jolene. She didn't even get a Grammy for the original. Do you use any of your socials?

I love love love PTX and am really enjoying your reactions. I would also highly recommend checking out Dimash Kudaibergen for some alien unicorn angel vocals - you will not be disappointed. I recommend starting with SOS.

PTX's record company blocks videos immediately. People do all sorts of things to get around it.
