This is an interesting one. I have spent a lot of time teaching students over the years master their Illustration skills, and I find it's often these little details that take the longest time to perfect.
Micro Composition (I don't know if it's an official term... but it's been a good way to explain the concept over the years to people!) Is where we consider many of the same abstract compositional rules but at the small scale.
It's important to keep doing these small tasks of arrangement and managing tangents, and stepping back to check how details are affecting the whole... All the way through an image.
Thinking of these small areas in this way has helped me to spend more time on them with my own art. And also to understand that this is building important muscles for general picture making.
Try to view all the little details in your image as great practice for you overall ability to arrange things and create good design and art!
