I thought Elvis had great production design. The re-creation of 1950’s Beale Street was marvelous. I’ve seen photos from that time. It is so spot on. I loved everything about this movie, but I don’t think it will win best production design. There is just to much competition in this category, but I am happy it got nominated.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t like how certain people say that an actor shouldn’t win an Oscar because they already have won once or twice. If they gave a brilliant performance then give them the Oscar. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for seeing actors win their first Oscar, just last year all the acting winners were all first time winners that were all very deserving. However, It should be about who gave the best performance, not how many Oscar’s one already has.
I agree with you 100%. Day-Lewis was incredible in the 3 oscars he won and I remember a lot of people saying he shouldn't win the second and third oscar because "he already won before". That doesn't make any sense. If he was the best, he should win, period. Cate Blanchett was by far the best leading actress this year, I hope The Academy doesn't surprise me in a negative way in this category.
@@AndreFernandesMovies facts. I genuinely believe that plays a factor as to why everyone is pushing for Michelle Yeoh to win. She was excellent in EEAAO but I can’t see her winning over Blanchett.

We definitely share the same opinion, not sure if representing most of the Oscar voters': I'd vote for Michelle Yeoh for the meaning, plus Cate B has already got Oscars (and she will probably get more nominations in the future but this is possibly the life time chance for Michelle). But acting wise Cate B is incredible and that's a classic winner performance. To me it kinda falls into the Chadwick Boseman vs Anthony Hopkins situation.
The Oscar Expert - Have you seen the James Wong film The One (2001) with Jet Li? It is very similar to Everything Everywhere All At Once, and actually made me appreciate the film's nuance less. I think Everything Everywhere is a much better film, especially in editing, acting, and directing. Do you feel that the similarities are enough to merit its win for Best Picture though? Isn't it weird that we live in a society where you can pick your nose, but you're not allowed to pick the Oscar winners or else everyone goes freaking crazy? 🤔
I loved Elvis and hated Bohemian Rhapsody. One of these movies tried to preserve a rock star’s legacy, the other actively damaged the star’s legacy to make the rest of the band look better.
I prefer Colin Farrel's performance. I did not like The Whale that much very melodramatic for me. Brendan Fraser was good, for sure, but I don't think is that gooood as everybody says. To be fair, I saw the movie with other 5 people, I was the only one who did not care for it, despite some really good moments. So yeah, Fraser will win.

Okay
I think Cate Blanchett just killed her chance of winning Oscar for joining the Andrea Riseborough campaign.
Barry Keoghan literally steals every scene he's in! Brendan Gleeson just plays someone grumpy beginning to end!
I also prefer Keoghan, but Gleeson plays much more than that, you need a rewatch.
@@manantial773 yeah I know the existential dread blabla...But I didn't feel the depth of it in his performance. Just grumpiness and randomly excessive behaviour.
Marcel the Shell for Best Animated Feature ♥️🐚
It is not even an animated feature, a hard pass.
@@manantial773 False - hence it’s nomination 🥳
Yep, Adapted Screenplay started out as a weak category, and... it ended as a weak category
Note: I actually didn’t see Living, so perhaps it’s a little unfair to say that. But still
@@seankoontz4235 What is weak about it? Feels you have only seen Top Gun and Glass Onion.
i swear to god this man shows whats wrong with movie critcs. People can't just enjoy a movie
Here are the 2023 lists of Academy Award nominees of 2022 that I hope they’d won (even though I never saw The Fabelmans nor Everything Everywhere All At Once), but they’re all great, fantastic movies. They don’t need an Oscar. The Oscars needs them. Awards are overrated anyway. But anyway, here they are.
BEST PICTURE:
Everything Everywhere All At Once - Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and Jonathan Wang, producers
(Even though I never saw that movie though, but I think it deserved that win though. I really want either Avatar: The Way of Water, Elvis, or maybe even Top Gun: Maverick to win Best Picture too, because they’re all such great movies. If Top Gun: Maverick wins for Best Picture, then that means that Tom Cruise will finally win an Oscar for producing the film!)
BEST DIRECTOR:
Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert - Everything Everywhere All at Once
or
Steven Spielberg - The Fabelmans
BEST ACTOR:
Austin Butler - Elvis as Elvis Presley
BEST ACTRESS:
Michelle Yeoh - Everything Everywhere All at Once as Evelyn Wang
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:
Ke Huy Quan - Everything Everywhere All at Once as Waymond Wang
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
Angela Bassett - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as Queen Ramonda
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY:
Everything Everywhere All at Once - Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert
or
The Fabelmans - Steven Spielberg and Tony Kushner
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAYS:
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery - Rian Johnson; based on characters created by Johnson and the film Knives Out
or
Top Gun: Maverick - Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and Christopher McQuarrie; based on the film Top Gun written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr.
BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM:
Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio - Guillermo del Toro, Mark Gustafson, Gary Ungar and Alex Bulkley
BEST ORIGINAL SCORE:
Babylon - Justin Hurwitz
BEST ORIGINAL SONG:
"Hold My Hand" from Top Gun: Maverick - music and lyrics by Lady Gaga and BloodPop
BEST SOUND:
Top Gun: Maverick - Mark Weingarten, James H. Mather, Al Nelson, Chris Burdon and Mark Taylor
BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN:
Avatar: The Way of Water - Production Design: Dylan Cole and Ben Procter; Set Decoration: Vanessa Cole
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY:
Elvis - Mandy Walker
BEST HAIRSTYLING & MAKEUP 💄:
The Batman - Naomi Donne, Mike Marino and Mike Fontaine
BEST COSTUME DESIGN:
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Ruth Carter
BEST FILM EDITING:
Elvis - Matt Villa and Jonathan Redmond
or
Everything Everywhere All at Once - Paul Rogers
BEST VISUAL EFFECTS:
Avatar: The Way of Water - Joe Letteri, Richard Baneham, Eric Saindon and Daniel Barrett
There aren’t enough Women Talking fans. I’ve seen it 3 times
Great choices here!

I don't get the hype around Everything Everywhere at all. I'm not hating on it do not get me wrong but from my perspective the film was all over the place and the scenes felt messy. Still a good film tho.. not the best picture of the year for me.
No love for Austin Butler! He's my pick! The man literally turned into another person! If that performance isn't Oscar worthy then nothing is!
Original song.. Oscar goes to........ Natu Natu
Yes, Dolly de Leon should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actress
u never miss!
we have all the same picks...
Uh no. He does miss. Quite a bit. They both do. They suck.
He does.
Top Gun Crew let’s ride!

Isn't it weird that we live in a society where you can pick your nose, but you're not allowed to pick the Oscar winners or else everyone goes freaking crazy? 🤔
I say we pick our nose while picking the Oscar winners.
This truly says a lot about society
COLIN BRENDAN MICHELLE YEOGH KERRY CONDON BANSHEES
I loved Elvis and hated Bohemian Rhapsody. One of these movies tried to preserve a rock star’s legacy, the other actively damaged the star’s legacy to make the rest of the band look better.
YES .
I agree with you, I would pick Stephanie Hsu to win Best Supporting Actress
The Banshees is the Seinfeld of movies.
