Thankyou my dad and his generation
God bless all of the Normandy vets and all WW2 vets who gave all for our liberty. They are all special, each and every one.
Eternally grateful and very proud
Amazing and makes you proud to be British ❤
😂😂
@piusx8317 what's funny
@@matthewmulligan3858He's probably from some tin pot nation we made better 😉
😂👍
@@mikeycraig8970 France, probably...
Awesome
Thank you dad and uncle Eddy and uncle Bob uncle Ken ,you all made it back home but many of your mates didn't RIP.
No WWII warbirds? No Spitfires, P-51 Mustangs, P-47s, B-17s, or B-25s? Maybe there is more than this clip.
British ones grounded due to recent fatal crash
@@st1nk1n Sorry to hear that.
A spitfire had crashed around 20 mins away from me in the uk county of Lincolnshire so they might be looking at faults with the old planes. RIP to the extremely brave pilot. RIP to the glorious spitfire
Good to see some Herculeses. I assume that the French Air Force still uses them. I don't think Britain should have got rid of all its Hercs.
@@st1nk1nthe Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is grounded, except perhaps the Dakota and the Chipmunk, as they don't have Merlin engines, but privately owned warbirds with Merlin engines haven't been grounded.
Hearing the planes go over makes me realize how terrifying it must have been for those young service men. 🙏
Yes, when HMS Belfast discharged those guns today on the Thames, multiply that by hundreds.. Most of the guys were badly seasick on the way over then waded through freezing chest high sea water *before fighting for their lives.. Hero's indeed. We cannot say thank you enough. R.I.P.
Why do these guys get 1 day yet pride is a month
Oh good, not a single mention of any bullshit current politics in this one
Yes what would be the point of learning from history eh!?!
Trump should have been there, he won the last election. Good enough? 😉
Your comments are so inappropriate today
What counties took part in the event?
No Spitfire?
Only 720p resolution...
... in 2024 ... REALLY???
If the British soldiers could see what their country has become they wouldn’t of bothered.
Yes, it's full of people who think 'wouldn't of' is correct English. Truly shameful.
It seems a strange and slightly ironic comment to make given their sacrifice earned you the freedom to be able to make it. Maybe think a bit……..
@@patavinity1262 To paraphrase Dr, Johnson's "Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel" , pedantry is the last refuge od a snowflake!
@@Jigaboo123456 Some advice - if you don't know the meaning of words such as 'paraphrase' and 'pedantry' then it's best to avoid using them. It can only result in embarrassment.

International flypast… Any German planes join in?
They were shot down by AAA just after take off.
Why? There weren’t any except maybe two over Normandy on actual DDAY.
@@jimreilly917 If I have to explain that comment to you there’s no point trying to explain that comment to you. 🤦🏼

why wasnt russia allowed there?
Because they are the bad guys. However, islamists are welcome in Europe.
Because Russia didn’t take part in D-day
Because russia is actimg like nazi germany now
Because they are the bad guys. However, islamists are welcome in Europe.
Russia didn't liberate France.

Bf109, Ju88, P-51, B-17, or B-25... No?! Well, we got rainbow flag! There was sure rainbow there on that day 80 yrs ago!
Well if your that upset that they weren’t flying 80 year old aircraft, then you should volunteer too restore one yourself. You know the idea of working for what you believe in and backing words up with actions, which is certainly an idea that existed there on that day 80 years ago!
@@chugachuga9242 There is one Bf109-E, and two Ju87 still flying in England. That would do the trick, better than jets. I've seen one Me262 2 yrs ago on the air show as well. But hey, who am i to complain. Just sharing my opinion. Tnx for the comment.
@@wickerman7245 They were most likely were grounded alongside aircraft from the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight, operated by the RAF after one of their spitfires was involved in a fatal accident during the weeks leading up to the ceremonies.
Your comment sir is appalling and you should consider and apology
I’m going to assume this was supposed to be a reply
What colours were they again?
Black orange green what did you red white blue ?
Red white and blue mate.
@@user-lb3hd7ip4o Gotcha! thought they had blown off that pride colour for a second! My bad.

You must mean brown. 💩

Pride flags in london 😮
....
Shame the British PM - Sunak - had to leave early to go to have a party political interview - and people had the audacity to question his Britishness - well now you have the answer - disgraceful
They should have gone slightly north and stopped the invasion of Britain that was happening.
Let’s NOT celebrate war
I agree that we shouldn’t celebrate war. This isn’t celebrating war though. I’m guessing you feel otherwise and that’s fine.
This is a commemoration of the millions of young men who laid down there life's because they belived in something greater than themselves and where perpeared to make the ultimate sacrifice to defend it, 4,414 Allied troops where killed on D-Day and In the ensuing Battle of Normandy, 73,000 Allied forces were killed to call this event a celebration os an insult to the dead and your country and a rejection of the rights and freedoms they died for all 51 million of them
@@Mitchell-mo9up it's not fine it's an insult to both there freedoms and those that died to protect them
Who is? were celebrating the heroic victory that secured the freedoms you're using to post this crap
Correct but we're saying thank you to those that gave their lives
And all the pilots where asylum seekers😮😮
Nah, they were going in the wrong direction for asylum seekers. 😉
Thank You Russia..🤗💖🇷🇺👍
Russia did not thank the Allies.
Russia didn't liberate France and Russia was sharing vodka with the Nazis when France was invaded in 1940.
