  • www.unwatch.org On Sept. 18, 2008, the Arab states that dominate the UN Human Rights Council brought Archbishop Desmond Tutu to help accuse Israel of war crimes. The Palestinian representative made the classically anti-Semitic comparison of Israelis to Nazis. He and the others who made similar statements were all thanked by the chair of the debate, council vice-president Elchin Amirbayov of Azerbaijan. Yet when UN Watch's Hillel Neuer responded to the incitement by quoting UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon's criticism of the council's anti-Israel agenda item, the chair banged on his gavel, declined to thank Neuer, and ruled the UN secretary-general's words to be out of order.
