    Hello love! This coming June will be a year after chemo for me and my hair is about your length and it’s thick and curly! I’ve never had thick curly hair! I’m getting ready to get my hair cut as well because my hair is all over the place right now! I love your cut! I may have to copy it girl! Sending love from Kentucky

    Right now, the question I have for you that I am asking myself is: When do you change in your head and in your words to others “I have cancer.” to “I had cancer.” ? I just finished my last round of Chemo and I’m soooooo done with all of this and I want to get back to life as I knew it before.

      Have you had your surgery already? And are they doing another scan after chemo to follow up? As soon as one of those happens and you get a report back stating your are cancer free or “no evidence of disease”, I would run with that! Shout it from the mountain tops! Cancer free, had cancer, survivor…whatever sounds good to you! You will go back to life outside of this very soon. Happy for you! “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” ❤️

    LOVE the cut! Do you have any tips for dealing with the insomnia after Taxol. Man it’s rough lol. I’m assuming it’s from the steroid and I go in the afternoon. Just had my second taxol after AC. What a difference. I feel almost normal. Still tired but the icky AC feeling is fading and it’s GLORIOUS!!

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I’m glad you’re feeling better! I agree, AC is rough and taxol is easier by comparison. Yes, I think the insomnia is from you premeds. I recommend trying so lavender essential oil (with diffused or a couple drops on your wrists) and chamomile tea before bed. Do some good reading before bed and try to sleep cool with a fan on. All of those helped me sleep.

    Lovely! How long did it take for your eyebrows to grow back and did the tamoxifen affect the growth?

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! My eyebrows started to grow back around 6 weeks after chemo. I’m not on tamoxifen since I’m a triple negative breast cancer so I can’t speak to that.

    When did you have your 1st haircut after chemo please?

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My first haircut after chemo was done was at home about 6 weeks after by my husband. We buzzed it to even out the hair growth and “baby hairs”.

    My hair is so very very thin and looks bald on top. I am feeling very insecure.the very thing I was so afraid of happened. I am in my 70’s.

      True some hair growth serum or consider trying on wigs to boost your confidence.

    Do you feel that your hair is the same strength/thickness pre-chemo?
    Did it come in like a peach fuzz or buzz like?
    I start my first chemo infusion 4/7/22

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do feel like my hair is growing in healthy. It was never very thick to start. It comes in like peach fuzz at first. I like to buzz it twice as it grows I’m so it starts to grow more even. Sending strength for you tomorrow!

    Is the Zoldex injection in the tummy was it painful? How was about the taxol chemotherapy was it worse than the A C

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Zoladex injection did hurt but the pain went away quickly. It was sore for a day. I’ve heard they may do a pill form now. Taxol is easier that AC at first. The effects from taxol came on slower but are similar to AC like nausea, stomach problems and fatigue.

    My hair grew out curly but do you think it will continue to grow curly ?

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine grew back curly then it started to get less curly as time went on. Hard to say. Some people have entirely different hair when it grows back.

    When can you Color your hair ?

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve seen survivors color it as soon as they have enough! So whenever seems okay for you. I would say at least 6 months after though due to hair cycles.
