    Just an update - this furniture is now about $100 with that finish, but you can get this style from Walmart for like $60. White, wood, or black. One day shipping.
    I've got one coming to see if I can make it work before investing into something like the Maxx. I love those designs, but I'm way too DIY to do that first without trying my own. Weight seems pretty light on these, too, and it all fits into one bag vs a large hardshell case. In and out for under $300. Can't beat that. Not even my SKB old school console bases are that cheap.
    I think the base for this is going to be the biggest challenge. I'm thinking about using basic MDF pieces with a hinge on each side. Off-season project for sure.

      So that's my night. Lol.
      Also, I totally already had one of those Gator bags, but there was another one on Amazon (used) for $144...so I grabbed that one. :-)

    I don't understand why you'd run it to external mixer in mono unless you're only using 1 speaker. Even if you use a splitter for 2 speakers you're still playing 2 mono signals. Music is produced in Stereo. Certain elements of a song are panned from left to right. The only thing that isn't panned is Bass. If you play it in mono then you're not listening to it the way that the producers & engineers intended it to be heard. If anyone thinks it doesn't make a difference then you're dead wrong.

    • @lavishlifedjs
      @lavishlifedjs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It felt sturdy to me. I attached the table with the center screw on the totem (some say that might not be enough though)….also it’s very high so unless your tall it might not work so well

    • @lavishlifedjs
      @lavishlifedjs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not a crazy question. Don’t worry I don’t consider myself handy either…I’m just a “Do’er”
      Here are 2 options:
      (1) I used a a fine saw I bought from Home Depot that inserts in to my power drill…You have to start out with some circular pilot holes on the 4 corners of the the rectangle then connect them with the saw.
      (2) Use a marker to measure the controller and go to Home Depot/Lowe’s and ask them to cut it out for you
      Hope that helps

    Have you ever had a bride or groom care about your table that a reception site provides? I never have and I do 150-200 events myself annually. I don't understand people recreating the wheel. You must not work at places that have no elevators only stairs. My back hurts just thinking about moving your setup up some stairs. Lot of work, money, and time you spent to create your setup. Hope it pays off.

    • @lavishlifedjs
      @lavishlifedjs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the comment. I appreciate your take on this. Mobility is definitely something to and have been considered. This booth weigh less than 40lbs and is pre-wired. So as heavy as this looks, it’s not. It is actually lighter than my controller case. Also If you watch my previous gig logs you will see how fast this is to set up. I literally just have to plug in the power and XLRs. This is not for everybody. If you’re doing 200 events annually without doing what I’m doing, great. Do you. With that stated, every single event I do I get compliments from the couple and guests about how great, unique and professional my set up looks and yes get referral and book gigs as a result. I do what I do because I enjoy it and for me it does make a difference.

    • @ozarkmixdj
      @ozarkmixdj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dwitthoft I get it. Then say that. You imply that it’s all DJ, honestly. My biggest point is just because you don’t want to put in the work of carrying something might be heavy, or better yet, better, then go ahead and do you. There is no reason to be negative about my guys set up. If you think a 6 foot fold out table that the venue provides is good looking then our clients will never be the same. We are worlds apart.
