Yes but celebrating someone and something is totally different from worshiping. We worship (pray to, put before all things and people) the Almighty Abba father God. We celebrate holidays birthdays and so on... Colossians 2- 16. no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Mike Gowdy Name one birthday in the Bible that was not shown in a very negative light.. It is as if God were telling us that birthdays are not too be kept... We have one birthday,, that's it! Men's traditions has carried this on, not God.
It's interesting that God never commanded to celebrate his birthday. What he did command was if you love me keep my Commandments and remember, remember remember the Sabbath to keep it holy.
I need prayers for my mom who is in ICU for covid-19 and her kidneys are shutting down. We just lost my sister in law from covid-19 today also. Please pray for her family during these dark days. Thank you and God bless
Thank you brother for bringing such details straight to the point. I stopped celebrating Christmas since leaving the Catholic church 31 years ago, instead I cherish our savior birth every day and thank him for the sacrifice he was willing to pay for all of us . God bless all.
Mary, Christ'Ma's day, nine months later, 9-11. heaveno hellO, Ones birthday used to be when they were consumed , 9 months later right around 9:11 does that make sense
Do not inquire about their gods, asking, “How do these nations serve their gods? I will do likewise.” 31You must not worship the LORD your God in this way, Deu 12:30
Great scripture reference...and it was actually Jesus talking to Moses who said this. Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
HERE is The ORIGINAL Semitic Text, HERE IS OUR SAVIOR YaH The Heavenly FATHER was Who they Crucified for our sins and “HERE IS THE PROOF” From the Ancient Semitic Scroll: "Yad He Vav He" is what Moses wrote, when Moses asked YaH His Name (Exodus 3) Ancient Semitic Direct Translation Yad - "Behold The Hand" He - "Behold the Breath" Vav - "Behold The NAIL"
Is a joy personally to celebrate christmas every day but is also a joy celebrate with people that don't know much about Jesus Christ that he came as a child to save the world. Why not celebrate together even that we know that this is not the real time. Same as we celebrate Thanksgiving. And in reality we celebrate Christmas as a Thanksgiving for the gift of God.
@@rosacabanas31 If you do celebrate Xmas you celebrating a lie. How can someone just made up a day and say let just say the MessiYAH was born on this day let’s just buy gifts for friends and family decorate houses. I believe the MessiYAH will more appreciate it, if in His honor go help the less fortunate by donating food clothes for the less fortunate. I believe there is a reason why His birth is not mentioned in the Bible. I love the ideas of family and friends get together. Giving gifts to our love ones shouldn’t be just on a set day but because in our heart we want to do it. Why not celebrate our Heavenly Father everyday by being obedient living in truth and Righteousness walking that narrow bath. In the scriptures the few birthdays they celebrated ends up in death. For me I won’t be celebrating a lie I thought for a long tine it was The day of His birth but at that time I wasn’t living for him but for myself but when I came to the true knowledge of my Heavenly Father I realize it’s a lie that has been told so I no longer celebrate it. I don’t need a special day to buy gifts for those I love.
@@rosacabanas31 because it's like saying I'm not an alcoholic but I will go spend all night in a bar with them in the same atmosphere. If it is wrong it's wrong...then you participate in a lie.
Not true, nothing is wrong with remembering the birth of Christ and His resurrection, (not talking about Santa and the bunny) and Halloween has absolutely nothing to do with God so it's not even related.
bunny is a pagan fertility symbol? Rabbits may have been pagan fertility symbols-although proof in this regard is somewhat lacking-but the Easter bunny? No way. Total hogwash. Fundamentalists, atheist Richard Dawkins, and everyone else who doesn’t know what they’re talking about spread lies about the Easter bunny, creating clever memes connecting him to the pagan goddesses Ishtar and Eostre. Ishtar was a Mesopotamian fertility goddess. She is associated with several symbols-a lion and various star shapes among others-but there is no association with rabbits. You might find a bunny somewhere in the pagan historical record but only if you play the ancient goddess version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. The connection to the Germanic goddess Eostre is even more bogus. The only evidence we have that there was a pagan goddess by this name comes from a Catholic monk, St. Bede, in the eighth century. Bede explains in his work The Reckoning of Time that the ancient pagans worshipped this goddess, and nowhere does he mention any bunnies. Bunny 1, Haters 0.
If Halloween was a Christian festivity, how come Catholic countries such as Italy never celebrated it in the way the USA does? The word Halloween comes from the traditional Catholic feast “All Hallow’s Eve,” referring to the Solemnity of All Saints. Here in the United States, the celebration of Halloween includes trick-or-treating. For more information on Halloween, including its origins, see these various Catholic Answers resources, and also this tract from Catholics United for the Faith. One obviously shouldn’t glorify the darker side of the modern celebration. But instead of turning off your porch light and not giving out any candy, why not instead provide treats and say “God bless you” to the children who knock on your door? In other words, take back the night. And you can also make a point to praise those kids in holy costumes and make light of those dressed as bad characters, including the devil. For example, you could say, “Something tells me you’re a good kid and wouldn’t do the devil’s works.” Or, if someone is dressed as a ghost, you could say, “What’s really great is that we have good angels and saints watching over us.” With a little creativity, you can turn Halloween into an occasion for evangelizing. After all, on what other night are you going to have all kinds of kids-and their parents-knocking on your door with smiles on their faces? Providing them candy gives you an entree into sharing the gospel with them.
Doug Batchelor is one among the best Bible Preachers in our time. I thank GOD for his ministry.... I stopped Christmas Belief & Celebration after going to SDA Movement. I met Dr. Batchelor way back in 1996 in Chennai.
As for me and my House, we WILL SERVE THE LORD! Let Babylon Fall. I kicked the pagan tree to the curb over 12 years ago and no longer celebrate the pagan holiday. I celebrate Yeshua everyday of my life!
There are so many days Adventist put emphasis on during Sabbath and that includes Christmas. Days like fathers day, mothers day, etc. I am about celebrating Sabbath day that reminds that; 1) God is the creator 2) Sabbath is a mini second coming. I am spiritual turn off when go to church on Sabbath and the service is emphasis cultural days, rather than the Sabbath day.

I don’t think Yah would like his Son’s Birthday celebrated on the same day the pagans celebrated their sun god. If God wanted us to celebrate the birth of His Son, I think he would’ve let us know when it was, just like his Feast Days.
Exactly!!! It is so difficult to get people to understand that... family and friends... It's so hard for them to let go of tradition. But we should be willing to give up anything that doesn't honour Him and that He is not pleased with. He is so worthy!
I totally agree with you 100% that's because he does not want us to celebrate his birth only his death because it was his death that saved us not his birth amen
I celebrated Christmas ignorantly all my life, but 10 years ago (this Christmas) I stopped celebrating. "You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free!"
Exactly! It has become the biggest source of joy and happiness for many. Relationship with Jesus IS the source of joy IMO. I can easily let Christmas go.
That's why christians should tell the right meaning of Christ-mass. There are other meaning of "mass" not always about feast or homily. For me Christ is for all (mass) and need to have faith in Him. Christmas day can be use to enlighten them the true essence and not focusing on the date.

Never taught my 4 kids to worship Santa or any of those lies. There is a lot of paganism about Christmas - but it is a great time to highlight Christ to those who may feel the need to only listen to Gods word this time of year. Speak while they are listening and the Holy Spirit will convict. I love the lights and pretty things of Christmas and I have lights and things up all year. As a Christian I try to steer clear of Santa and all that nonsense and focus on Christ. Christ is coming soon to bring us home. This time he will come as our king. And people need to hear his gospel and his good news!
@@roybiv4499 No worship of Santa, but I really like how the Spaniards do winter solstice as a holy day, Christmas, and than do summer solstice, Dia de San Juan, as a very pagan celebration of the earthly (erotic?) senses. Christianity just plugged its saints and holy figures into pagan (really, just believers in different gods) holy personages.
@@roybiv4499 people all around the world worship Santa. And parents teaching their kids to worship Santa. Worship doesn’t always mean in a church praying to them. One can even worship Money - fame etc. when we make something an idol - we are worshipping it. Kids line up to sit on his lap and they write him letters. Parents lie to kids and tell them he’s real and kids put their hope and expectation in him. People put statues of him in their homes etc etc. they make an idol Out of a pagan character and yes - worship Him. All the saints and Mary are also held up in worship. The Catholic Church even took idol worship out of their Ten Commandments because idols worship and praying to idols and praying to dead people is a huge part of their religion. God says not to make idols and not to pray to the dead. All we need is Jesus. He doesn’t need any help

May the Lord forbid that any one should be so narrow minded as to overlook the event because there is an uncertainty in regard to the exact time. Let us teach them how Jesus came into the world to bring hope, comfort, peace, and happiness to all.... Let the hearts of all respond with exceeding joy for the priceless gift of the Son of God.- *The Review and Herald, December 17, 1889*
In my childhood I never knew Christmas, stood for Christ mass and was a Catholic tradition. As a Protestant I should have been taught these things. I am grateful that as an adult I have had the opportunity to study and learn and know that I chose my faith, and am not just born into it.
Mr. Batchelor: You asked: Should a christian celebrate christmas? And, what was your answer? Your answer was NO but YES. A total confusion! That's why the sheep are so lost, because there are no real pastors!
@@EricSaavy I appreciate your passion. But. But we need to keep reading in Acts 15. Immediately after being given 4 Torah commandments to get their process of sanctification going comes this: Acts 15:21 For from the earliest times, Moshe has had in every city those who proclaim him, with his words being read in the synagogues every Shabbat.” The new converts were expected to LEARN the rest of Torah. Circumcision was the issue in Acts 15 NOT the abolishing of Torah. Matthew 5:17-20. Messiah says so.
Evangelizing and witnessing during the pagan holidays is a good analysis. However, we should not celebrate them under any circumstances whatsoever. Shalom
I love Christmas. I think the birth of our Lord is one of the more beautiful parts of the Bible. Since the traditional day to celebrate it is Dec. 25th, and since the Bible does not say otherwise, we celebrate it on that day. Do we not celebrate the day of His resurrection? Why should we not celebrate the day that He was born? It is truly a beautiful story. Yes, we have a Christmas tree. No, we do not pray to it or think of it as Holy in any way. It’s a tree that our kids decorate with homemade ornaments and it’s pretty. But we also sit down in the living room as a family and read from Luke on Christmas Eve. We praise God for the greatest gift He ever gave us. Salvation through Jesus Christ. We also pray and give thanks for Mary and Joseph for accepting the monumental task of raising the Son of God. We do not pray to Mary, not in our home. But we give thanks for her and Joseph. They were favored by God and deserve our gratitude.
You love Christmas because you dont know the truth Jeremiah 10 is clear about Christmas trees. Why do you think the world loves Christmas so much. It's about making millions of people selfish with the I want mentality. As the children. Everyday should be in christ and for christ. Not a day that wicked men sat aside and shoved down our throats to celebrate. Let's not forget they look forward to dec 25 for the billions of dollars the illuminati makes of us every year. Christ have nothing to do with Christmas so let's not stamp his name on it.
Amen. Well said, this is how I feel about Christmas and how we celebrate it. We focus on Jesus’s birth and sing the beautiful carols of joy in his first coming to earth! “Love was when God became a man”! Lovely song.
You are spot on. What harm is there to celebrate Christmas on the 25th December as we always do ?? If we can celebrate the day that our Lord died for us on the cross,if we can celebrate His resurrection day, why not the day Jesus was born ??. Even if it was not written in the Bible, I personally feel that the day that Jesus came to this earth should be celebrated throughout the world. How can we celebrate Good Friday and Resurrection Day without celebrating the day that Jesus was born ?? It depends on the way we celebrate though. Some celebrate Christmas without Jesus in their hearts. By partying, drinking and all sorts of worldly pleasures that they get involved in. We celebrate Christmas by examining our hearts to prepare and make room for Jesus to dwell in our hearts and make a change and transform our lives in the way that we live, we talk, we act so as to be witness, salt and light of the world.
True. I don’t get why people are saying that celebrating Christmas on December 25th is wrong. My family has a Christmas tree but we do not worship it either we just like to decorate it and think it’s pretty. That’s it. But we understand the true meaning of Christmas
Reading through the comments section..I have realised that many people didn't understand a very simple explanation by the pastor about holidays especially Xmas.In his explanation, he elaborated how to take advantages of such days to witness and doing all other activities which are in harmony with the scriptures. That doesn't mean we celebrate pagan days that way the world celebrate them, rather we reach and carry out activities which might be of good importance to unbelievers and bring people to Christ. It's also the same views from the spirit of prophecy. Thanks dough Batchelor 👌
Yes, I agree with Pastor Doug’s way of explaining how to celebrate Christmas. We can make it a season of special giving and spreading the word about Jesus!
@@susankane8728 RIGHT!! Do not decorate the tree with gold & silver BUT use gold & silver tinsel, bells, colored balls, blinking winking lights AND a recording repeatedly playing the song Christmas Tree!! As Kenneth Copeland would say, OHhhhh Glory Glory GLORY!!
Decorations on a tree are not necessary, and please don’t tire us with playing O Christmas tree, over and over. That would seem like adulation of the tree. But, a tree with twinkling lights to warm up winter and delight the kids and cat, is not idolatrous. And playing the timeless, beautiful carols that glorify and honor the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is a lovely way to delight in God’s priceless gift to us. I’m an SDA and I love Christmas!🌲🎁☺️
The birth of Jesus i spiritually celebrate it everyday but a special time in Dec. I also celebrate the Christmas time. I do not worship a tree , lights, or presents. It’s a time my family gets together to share the years happenings. I do buy my grandchildren presents. I love watching them open the presents and they love the gifts. Dec 25 is a family time for us. To me people get all argumental about it being a pagan holiday and it might be. But it’s like we shun it and partake of other pagan things or “ little” sin everyday and say nothing!

Hello Pastor , this is the first video we watch from you and we (my boyfriend and myself) appreciate the way you aproached this topic. We agree with your explanation and like that you go to the Bible and the period of time in History that all this is relevant to talk about this. Great video! It should go viral on the internet :)
Thus saith the Lord , Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Jeremiah 10:2-5 KJV
e2sguy Read Christmas, Easter, and Halloween- Where did they come from? by Vance Ferrell. My reason for not celebrating Christmas is based on that scripture that i just showed you. The mere fact that the same tradition kept by the heathen in Jermiah are being kept today shows that it is a pagan custom. And we are not suppose to follow after them. Im not saying that we are not to celebrate the birth of Jesus.. but knowing the origins why would you celebrate it in such a way as was kept by people that don't even care for God?
Has nothing to do with christmas Trees has to do with making a tree a God , idol worship, nothing wrong with christmas trees unless you worship the tree, ,No we worship Jesus, He is Lord
This verse, as Doug addresses it, speaks about carving trees into idols representing pagan deities, like the Asherah pole carved from trees used to worship the pagan goddess of the same name. The wooden idols were decked out with silver and gold not only to make them appealing to the worshippers, but also to preserve the wooden carving beneath.
I always love your quote from Paul that says “don’t do anything that causes your brother to stumble.” Although the verses in Jeremiah isn’t about Christmas tree, I think it is related to how we use the Christmas tree. Here’s my testimony; I was raised in a very conventional SDA family in Asia. We don’t celebrate Christmas. We don’t celebrate December 25th as Jesus’ birthday. We celebrate Jesus’ birthday everyday in our heart. When I moved to US I was pretty surprised that most SDA here celebrate it and I thought if Christmas here is a tradition then maybe I should celebrate it too. So I did celebrate it for 7 years without digging more about it. Christmas tree is part of it for this past few years and even though I didn’t bow and pray to the tree but my heart was so in the tree. I was so busy thinking about the tree and all the decorations and my mind was not on Jesus at all. Little that I know I stumbled. I had been bowing to the Christmas tree without even bowing to it. But God found a way to remind me again in His gentle way that I should not put Christmas before God. This year, I decided to eliminate Christmas from my household. Many will say Jeremiah is not about Christmas tree but in my humble opinion, it is related to Christmas practices and any other worldly items I put first before God. Once again, I love what Paul says “do not do anything that causes your brother to stumble.”
At minute 9:11, Doug says: "...but if there is a pagan practice that conflicts with a Biblical principle, then you should stay away from that." Celebrating Christmas INDEED conflicts with a Biblical principle: Israel, as you go into the land and attack the nations that are there, [YHWH] will get rid of them, and you can have their land. But that's when you must BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL not to ask, “How did those nations worship their gods? *SHOULDN'T WE WORSHIP [YHWH] IN THE SAME WAY?”* NO, YOU SHOULD NOT! [YHWH] hates the disgusting way those nations worship their gods, because they even burn their sons and daughters as sacrifices. [Deuteronomy 12:29-31]
This is a pretty mature, sober perspective, and most importantly I love the APPROPRIATE use of Scripture to put it into perspective. Thank you, Pastor.
Christmas = people spending money they usually don't have on stuff they don't need and on some people that they don't even like. It can bring on great sadness for many because of missing loved ones who have died. It brings great stress on those who spend money they really can't afford for gifts etc... So if the Lord really wanted us to make such a big deal about his birthday he would have said so and there would be no doubt what date his birthday was and how to properly celebrate it.
I am 100% in agreement with you. What is not in the Bible should not be a big deal compromising and trying to please Christians who love Christmas and want to celebrate it.
Perfect time to acknowledge to the world that Jesus was born! Doesn't matter when, but the fact that HE WAS born. If Western culture gets rid of it then less people will believe or remember that he was born. Joy to the world the LORD is come!

How can you make a video saying Christmas is pagan yet you refuse to condemn it? That is like warm behaviour... you are in a position of responsibility, by not condemning it you put yourself in a precarious situation with our creator! I urge you to do the right thing according to God and the bible. Christian love Simon
Putting up a tree and celebrating Christmas is pagan and has no roots in Jesus ministry or life. You sound like you are watering down the Bible and worship of Jesus. You should denounce Christmas. Being all things to all men does not mean doing what they do!
Christmass should not be celebrated. Period. Pastor explained it very well in the beginning. The end is sad... If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them. James 4:17 Let's read what Jesus told us to do in REMEMBRANCE OF HIM 1Cort 11:24,25. That is what we should be celebrating.
I agree Pastor. I know Christ was not born in winter, however we are not worshipping as gods the tree, santa, the gifts, etc. in essence its a typical time off/holiday such as Thanksgiving in USA & Canada, it's a holiday like family day in Canada, families come together & make it fun but even better is the fact that during this time we automatically think of Jesus birth! we discuss, we celebrate & we joyfully think of Christ for that whole time! like not many other days, I can't imagine God is unhappy that people are lifting him up, bowing down praising him - so long as we have no idols of the time as part of the celebrations, I think God is happy to see the whole world paying special attention to him our creator as he knows we don't know & he never told his birthday, so we are not changing his word. santa is not worshipped, it's in my mind a way to teach children that we should all give joyfully .. each of us can be santa to someone who is in need. if we can't celebrate a holiday (called Christmas) where we also give praises to God & thanks him for the birth of his son...then christians shouldn't celebrate martin luther king day, lincoln day I think is a holiday , labor day, family day etc. ..it doesn't make sense, we are not worshipping idols it's just another time off and in this one, the plus is that we are all discussing Jesus birth!
When I was agnostic, I did not celebrate Christmas for all ungodly reasons. So don't judge that someone who doesn't celebrate is godly and those who do ungodly. Judge with right judgment. It's all about the heart and motives. Why do you celebrate it? Why don't you celebrate it?
And when so called christians say we're celebrating our Lord Jesus birth"..... That's a lie they are excusing and have started to believe because h wasn't born then. People reject the truth and don't want to change their worldly pagan ways!!
I used to have an invisible friend as a child. Whenever I was lonely or sad, afraid or in need of guidance I would talk to him and I would feel better. I then grew up, left home and stopped going to church
Christmas carols are what are bringing me closer to being religious… as odd as that sounds. I celebrate Christmas as a cultural holiday but if it’s making me seek Jesus then it can’t be wrong.
Oh holy night is SUCH a powerful song ! There are so many great christian c=Christmas songs in French and English. I make sure my kids know them and sing them during the holidays while telling them Jesus could have not been born on the 25th of December. Yes, there is nothing wrong in celebrating his birth to this filth filled world to save us.
@crosisofborg5524 my comment to you was sincere. If you truly desire to be close to Jesus, you should be learning about His true feasts, there are 7, they are His and He said we must observe those holidays . Not the pagan crap that is worshipped because people like to imagine that its all about Jesus, when in fact its the total opposite .
I love what God speaks through you (Pastor Doug) regarding the truths about the Sabbath. I’m not SDA, but I am a TRUTH SEEKER who came across your videos (and several others affiliated with you) and have learned so much about what the BIBLE SAYS about feast days and Sabbath days. Would you consider the possibility that we got the tradition of Christmas from the exact same place that we got “Sunday sabbaths” and that for the same reason(s) neither should be adhered to....... ? I am new to Sabbath TRUTH.... and on my journey, the Holy Spirit exposed the Christmas lies first..... and it was very difficult to walk away from beloved Christmas traditions.... now I’m walking away from Sunday keeping traditions.... which are also not easy. But as I navigate the opposition to Sabbath Keeping, they use the exact same logic as is presented here about Christmas Keeping. And they desire to continue keeping Sunday for the same reasons you explain that celebrating Christmas is fine to do. I do realize the fact that Sabbath Keeping is a commandment and therefore not negotiable. But based on this verse: “Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.” Deuteronomy 12:30-32 KJV (In this verse) God also commands us not to worship Him according to the practices of pagans. God has a lot to say about celebrating Holy Days..... but Christmas is a Roman Catholic Creation not a Biblical one.... not one scripture says to celebrate or remember, or do in remembrance of Jesus’s birthday...(however December 25 IS THE BIRTHDAY OF THE SUN god). I don’t want to sound persuasive, because what I think, want, or feel is not relevant. But out of respect for your Position and Influence I simply would ask what does The Bible say about Holy Days that Honor Him? And is Christmas or celebration of Jesus’s birthday desired by God in scripture? I ask for your forgiveness if this comment comes across as argumentative. Because you have shared many hard TRUTHS to my heart ( through your teaching videos) that I knew were right, although not popular or easy. So I only hope that this comment might spark a pursuit of WHAT DOES GOD SAY, in all who read it. And at the end of the day, my prayer is that ONLY WHAT GOD WANTS, IS WHAT WE WANT, and ONLY WHAT GOD SAYS, IS WHAT WE AGREE WITH and OBEY! 🥰 God Bless all who read this!!
Very beautiful you are exactly right 100% the Bible speaks about not following pagan holidays which we know the Christmas originated from the pagans he is very firm I'm not following pagan celebrations and yes on December 25th the pagans do celebrate their sun God
Happy Sabbath Tracie! Welcome to the 7th day Sabbath keeping family. Your comment is on target. Sadly many people are being taught smooth messages that do not bring conviction to their hearts. This allows them to continue in their sinful ways. Unfortunately it is hard to find people who will speak the truth no matter the consequences. Please visit our website at www.reklamationministries.net to learn more Bible based prophetic truths. God bless!
Amen, Amen, Amen God bless You. All you said on your post is completly true. Since I know that Christmas comes from paganism I stopped to celebrate it. When you understand all the meaning of the practices being this celebration you cannot following anymore because I love so much God I don't want to make him sad. We know than more and more we have to take position for God or Satan. All in Christmas are a great TRIKERY... Satan has succeed to have worhsip in this day (Christmas) exactly as his Sunday's rest. In the beginning of the SDA God has not given to EG White the thuth on Christmas because there had things more important to know but in ourdays God reveales more truth to His children and we have to accept them or not. My sister in Christ I apologise for my bad english because I am French but it was very important to encourage you to follow in God's truths. My dream is to meet you in the Everlasting life With our Heavenly Father, our Savior Christ Jesus and the Redeemed. God bless you
If you believe that Sunday worshippers are pagans then I'm really sorry for you. You're misguided and the cross of Christ hasn't finished it all for you.😔
Pastor, I am struggling sadly with this question myself. What about the 1st of the ten commandments that say worship no other gods but me? No matter how much we rewrap the Christmas holiday, the foundation of it is clearly connected with false gods. How can we keep justifying this. Help me understand why we never self corrected this uncomfortable truth in the church?
he would obvs need 2 explain it because it wouldve been a pretty short video and how are ppl supposed 2 believe u if u dont even come with any evidence
Well said Pastor Doug. We love to sing the beautiful carols of Christmas in honor of Jesus’s first coming to earth. We like to hear and read the story from Matthew about Jesus, and how he came to save us from sin, and how He is Emmanuel, God with us! We give gifts to our family and friends, showing love and thoughtfulness. You explain well how we can make great use of this season to share with others about the love of God! 🙏🏼
Those songs are man made doctrine the best part of Christmas for me was the songs. I know better now. I don’t even like them it’s not bringing God glory. The way we give God glory is by living by His words daily. If God wanted me to celebrate his son’s birth it would have been in Scripture just like the other feast days and festivals in the Bible. His birth is not in scripture so all who is celebrating Christmas is celebrating a lie. And as far as I know God hates liars. It’s easy for me not to celebrate because I don’t know when was Jesus birth and that’s not instructions God have me in scripture. My instructions is to repent and turn to God.
@@jesuschristservant235 Well said the Prophet Isaiah *to the self-righteous Sabbath keepers* in Isaiah 65! ISAIAH 65 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. 2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; 3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face;… 5 Which say, *Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.* 6 Behold, it is written before me: *I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,*
In the Philippines, we celebrate Christmas to commemorate the birth of Jesus. It’s also the best time to share God’s love as people are more open to receive it. As celebrating our birthday is not biblical but there is nothing wrongful about it, with more reason that we can celebrate Christmas to remind us of the the greatest gift God gave to mankind. This is the time for spiritual renewal.
It's a season of giving..... goodwill to all. Acts of kindness. Gifts of love and care. Recognizing that there is goodwill, hope, love in the world, that things maybe be dark but, with goodwill and acts of love and remembering why we do these, things will get better. So anything that is of that good spirit should be celebrated with thankfulness that we can, and share the goodness spirit with everyone in whatever way we can. And realise that that that spirit of goodwill and doing acts if kindness and live with the thanks is something we can do all year
You know something is wrong when the world celebrate what supposed to be a Christian celebration when it’s not, the world don’t want anything to do with the Lord Jeremiah 10 clearly says it decorate with gold and silver and nail it so it doesn’t move. How can people Christian be fooled by this. on the day of judgment billions going to have to give a account period. The lord is a jealous God remember that.
Warrior and Watchman of Christ Like he explained, there were pagan practices that decorate trees, but it was in a totally different context. Those trees were carved into statutes of physical idols adorned in silver and gold. They had to be carried around. That has nothing to do with Christmas trees bc Christmas is a made up day in history that doesn’t really actually have anything to do with the birth of Christ, besides cultural symbolism so we don’t have to celebrate it if we don’t feel led to. BUT this time CAN be used as an opportunity to glorify God, whether you celebrate or not. There is nothing wrong with decoration if it glorifies God. Don’t make Christmas an idol, where you place it above everything else in your life and allow the societal pressure and self imposed expectations to distract you from Jesus. Paul says let the people who want to do it, do it unto God. And people who don’t, don’t do it unto God. So as long as we do it unto Him, that’s what matters. We don’t have to be religious about it. We just ask ourselves, “Does it bring Him glory?”. And if it does, cool we can choose to participate if we want. And if it doesn’t, then we shouldn’t do it; participate as long as it brings God true glory in your life. Personally, I have decided to not participate in the holidays like I have in the past. That’s just what is right for me. That’s between each person and Jesus. And knowing Jesus is freedom. He has a plan for each person and as long as we are abiding in His plans for our life, He uses our obedience in ways we can never fathom to connect all the all the dots to what He has planned. We don’t always know how He uses our lives to impact others. He died for us to have the life He planned for each of us...free from sin and regret, from shame. And we are meant to impact others. It’s an exciting adventure with Him. We don’t have to have all the answers, we just follow Him and bring Him glory. He is the only One who is worthy. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Kara Wilde most people are in bondage of not letting Christmas go but I love the lord with all my heart soul in mind and if not celebrating Christmas is what I have to do then that’s what I have to do like I said don’t take Jeremiah 10 out of context it clearly state it yet people switch up words to make it sound different so they can keep there idol tree
@@naturallywilde .....all I know is that the spirit of christmas isn't the holy spirit because thr HOLY spirit doesnt MIX itself with the things of this world
Yes that right..... A man of God said this... Way way back There was a witch leader who had a little boy and she loved him so much... Nd she said that the boy was going to be recognized and everyone will selebrate his birthday So she did some kinda Witchcraft thing and satanic rituals and she she said this day 25Th of December cause that's when the little boy was born...
Very Disappointing, Doug. The same sun worship traditions of Sunday are the ones of Christmas. Which literally means "Christ's Death". It is an invention of the Papacy, remember who the anti Christ is? If Jeremiah 10 doesn't convince you, read Amos 5:21-26. Come out of her my people!
@@statutesofthelord: Jesus himself told us how to remember him at the last supper. We are to remember him in the symbols of the bread and the wine. Now that being said Im more concerned with the taking of MAN'S traditions and the paganism behind the 25th. Even Pastor Batchelor states that the 25 is not only a pagan tradition it is also not Jesus's birthday. Pastor Batchelor even calculates the approximate time of his birth - Fall. Now as for an "inspired words" where are yours to show this is what we should be doing.
1 Cor 6: 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
When he was ready Jeremiah 10 there was a great lack of gravity... it never said anything about craving. It did say deck with silver and with gold.... it is a pagan alter, why would we partake? It's not even a question if your having reality with God. 1 Cor 6 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Christmas is just like the golden calf that Aaron made when Moses tarried up with G-D in the mountain... You cannot put an idol and christianize it and say that it is used to look towards the things G-D did through Yeshua/Jesus because it would be just the same thing as the golden calf to represent a replacement of Moses to guide the people towards G-D... As this video says Jeremiah 10:3-5, he also neglected to mention what Jeremiah 10:1-2 said... “Hear/listen to the Word which G-D says/speaks to you, o house of Israel and believers of the G-D most High; thus says the L-RD: Do Not do or learn the ways of the Gentiles/Pagans: Do Not be dismayed at the signs and wonders of the Heavens, For the Gentiles/Pagans are dismayed at them.” Leviticus 18:3-4 Leviticus 20:22-23 Isaiah 40:18-20 Isaiah 45:20 Isaiah 41:7 Psalms 115:4-8 Isaiah 41:23 Isaiah 42:14-17 Deuteronomy 4:15-19 Deuteronomy 4:26-28 Deuteronomy 5:6-10 Deuteronomy 12:29-32 Deuteronomy 18:9 Exodus 32:1-8 Acts 7:37-43 Revelation 2:14-15 Revelation 2:20-22 Revelation 3:15-16 Revelation 19:20 Revelation 16:13-14 Revelation 13:8 Revelation 13:12-18
@@EricSaavy So you are saying that Jesus would be ok with pagan traditions that distract people from worshipping God in a humble way by feeding their lustful hearts with temptations of material things ?? Wow, you must be reading a completely different bible than me. What version is yours ? Also, I think Jesus would take offense to the fact that the date used for his supposed birthday was really the birth date of an extremely evil man named Nimrod who rebelled against God. 🤔
@Michael Heathman I really don't think you can call sdas idolitors. Of the many Christian groups I know they are of the least to have that accusation put against them. I'm not an Adventist but it is not against God law if people want to observe the sabbath. Nowhere in the Bible is anyone condemned for doing so. That said christmas is of the devil so is worship of the cross. Worshipping the impliment which killed Jesus is an abomination
@Michael Heathman your response is far from a Christian response. I am a Christian and I try and live as one everyday. If you choose to inadvertently worship idols as a way of worshipping God then just know that the Bible speaks against such practices. I urge you to read the Bible and pray to God through Jesus to gain true understanding of how our creator wishes to be worshiped. You do realize it's not about what we wanna do.! As Jesus said he dose nothing of his own initiative only what his father wills. If we claim to be following Jesus then we should follow him in that same way. I wish you and your family well. Christian love. Simon.
Want to know when Jesus was born by just using the bible? We have a good idea. The Bible tells us that John the Baptist was 6 months older than jesus as told by luke. We then know John was born 9 months after zechariah was in the temple for his lot of abija. 1 chronicles 24 tells us when his was the eighth lot of abija. 9+6=15. Jesus was born 15 months after zechariahs lot. That places jesus' birthday late Sept early October. Which is right around the feast of tabernacles.. Aka when God dwelt among them... Hope that helps. Tell your friends!! God bless Ps get rid of the pagan traditions... You can not take a day long associated with sun worship, baal, tammuz and child sacrifice and use it to glorify God.. It amazes me the mental gymnastics people will do to hang on to these pagan traditions.
Quote: You can not take a day long associated with sun worship, baal, tammuz and child sacrifice and use it to glorify God.. If God made the universe and everything in it, that would include the 24 hour periods, we call days. Thus He made all 365 periods of time we call days in a year. Therefore, I can use ANY DAY OF HIS YEAR TO WORSHIP HIM! When I arose, today, December 25th, I said the same thing I said yesterday, the 24th Thank you Lord, for another day. And, if He is willing, I will praise Him in the same manner, tomorrow, December 26th. Yes, I can a day, any day on the calendar to glorify God! BTW, I agree with you that Jesus' birth was in the early fall of the northern hemisphere. BTW, 2, If I had the ability to make a list of days, throughout history, that fit within the description of the day referenced in your quote, and noted them on a calendar, how many dates would be blank? From all the world's religions and practices, since Genesis 1:1 how many of the 365 days, in a year, have never been "long associated with ......"? BTW, 3, Much of what we see today, is the secular world taking over anything relating to sincere worship of God and attempting to convert to its own purposes. Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life, just as it has been since the devil said "Ye, hath God said...." in the garden. Merry Christmas
Oldtimer Lee he also made the all the animals and cows... how did he feel about the golden calf made in his honour? He wanted to kill the isrealites and moses had to beg him not to... He made the sun as well. Should we use symbolism and solstices to honour him? We are commanded not to adopt customs of other religions and nations. Read your bible and stop listening to men who will lead you astray. Happy saturnalia.. Look it up. We live in the information age. Know why reformation happened and many left the Catholic church? Thanks to the printing press they now had access to the bible and realized the church was in error. There's another reformation happening now and thanks to the access to information and history thanks to the Internet, people are leaving these pagan customs because they see them for what they are... Jesus is worthy of speaking truth.
Oldtimer Lee by the way, it was the church trying to convert a pagan custom into one about Jesus, it belonged to the world first.

Yes that is exactly about the time of his birth but even that is the case his BD was not important as the memory of his death on a Stake in the Bible is only his death to remember Do this in remembrance of me Celebration of the bread and wine representing his blood he shed for mankind and the Bread which is his body that was on the Stake Do this in my Remberance .
Big Reds absolutely! I was just pointing out that Christmas is a lie and a horrible tradition in hopes people may question why they partake in it. His death is what truly matters and the Bible tells us the day to the hour in which he accomplished the works of the cross. (Not easter by the way) He will also return and judge the hearts of men. Many who believe to be saved will say "lord lord"........ unfortunately he will reply "away from me, I never knew you...." Probably the scariest verse in the bible as far as I'm concerned. Many people who claim Christianity have never read the Bible and many who have read it don't apply it to their lives. People are fooling themselves if they think God doesn't know the true intentions of their hearts.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. " Just want to share my view, the spirit of Christmas is to be celebrated everyday but December is the climax of all. I agree that the ways of the world are too commercialized and un-biblical and I do not support this. But I believe we can still celebrate the occasion "without" conforming to the ways of the world through thanksgiving, prayers, fellowship, helping people, forgiveness, reconciliation etc. The Scripture says "In every thing, give thanks..." - so for me celebrating Christmas is one way of thanksgiving. Also, we celebrate not because its His birthday (exact day), NO...but the fact that He was born here on earth regardless of the date. Anyways, no one is really celebrating on its exact day, if we are to consider the effect of leap year. isn't it? :) God bless
@@sharmaineSLH I am not new and am confused...is that of the devil ? hmmmmm. not good to put these type of things in our minds, I am just now at 60 trying to change the Kool aid mind that was put in my brain all my lutheran past....and it is very hard to replace it with the Bible truths, I keep referring back....well one scripture is powerful....“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it
December25th is Nimrods birthday. We have stopped celebrating Christmas for many reasons and pagan holidays! Blessings have followed finding the truth about these holidays. Easter as well. Halloween Satan’s holiday. God does have Holy days in the Bible Passover, Feast of tabernacles and others. Blessings to those who are searching for the truth.
Brother Doug Batchelor I use to see you on TV I just love your Bible based explanation it's great. Thank for sharing Jesus loves you and so do I kind sir.
Hi Doug! Great teaching. I do want to ask what you think about what Deuteronomy 12:31 says about not honoring Yahweh in the same way that the pagans do? I agree that it is a conscience question of whether or not to celebrate Christmas, but I do also believe that a lot of Christians today have seared their conscience by honoring Jesus on this day in the normalized way of the gifts under the tree etc. I used to practice some Wiccan ways before I was born again and as I have researched there were many in Europe at the time who used to bring gifts to “god” and put them under the green trees (at this time of year) and now down to the tree to honor their “god’s” So in my mind this practice is heretical for Christians to do, because even though they don’t mean it to honor that “god” they still do the same act. As well as bringing a tree into the home, pagans would often bring in green tree branches and holly into their home to remind them of the coming spring and honor nature in that way. So wouldn’t bringing in a Christmas tree be similar? I look at it the same as Christians doing yoga. The practice is meant for a totally different religion that honors a different god and is detestable to our Lord. And even if we re-name the moves or say the positions aren’t for that god, it doesn’t take away the original meaning of the poses does it? I’m truly convinced that God is trying to help His people understand that this is not how He wants to be honored. There are 7 Holy Feasts that are His feasts that He appointed for His people to honor his birth, death, resurrection, second coming and more prophetic passages that help us understand Him more. Don’t you think we should focus on those instead? I just can’t agree with those who choose to focus on a made up holiday that is based on a lie of the birthdate of our savior. But I still do not condemn anyone who does participate. I just hope they can see the truth of it soon. So as not to be deceived anymore.
What is next ? Shall we keep Sunday to reach the people who is worshipping on Sundays, or become gay to reach the gays, ohhh I forget we already doing those things, matt 23:15.
I think MANY of you have COMPLETELY misunderstood what he just said and the scriptures he just quoted. Indeed not everybody can comprehend the FREEDOM we have in Christ, which is comprehensible through faith.....I must say I am VERY disappointed in you Christians. 💔😥😪
You can witness to people on Sundays and hold bible teachings/sermons on Sunday as the early Apostles did, not because you are observing the sabbath on Sunday, but because that is the time many people will be available for you to witness to. By doing that you have not disobeyed any commandment. But becoming gay is a direct offence to the commandments and the character of GOD.......you Christians really need to have more wisdom than the sarcasm you throw around without any understanding of what the scriptures are saying....but if your faith is weak, then don't do any of those.
Is it lawful to give love on christmas day? Is it lawful to heal on sabbath day? Giving love and helping others is what matters most. Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
The Globe in the background says it all!.. No more celebrating Pagan Holiday’s for me from now on, I’ve washed my hands of them since discovering this truth!! We live in a World full of Lies & Deceit ...
CastlevaniaDXC Very odd indeed for a Pastor - not believing in God’s (YHWH) Creation of the Earth, as described in Genesis 1-2... and also supported by the 145+ other Bible verses, that state we live on/in a fixed immovable Plane ... But I guess he believe’s in the false ~ God”less”~ Big Bang Theory too (hence the Globe). Guess that’s why he’s also saying it’s fine to celebrate Pagan holidays!
It's still amazing to me how most within the Seventh-Day Adventist Church can justify the keeping of Christmas and Easter when they came from the same corrupt power, Rome. They know Sunday is not to be kept yet they still keep the other pagan days. It doesn't make any sense but it shows how people still want to hold to tradition
All of these holidays, including birthdays are deep-rooted in abominations like witchcraft, sorcery, astrology and worshipping other gods. satan created these holidays to worship him. Lucifer is always described as the sun and it is not a coincidence that sun gods are worshipped in these holidays. I will not give satan, our adversary the satisfaction to acknowledge any of his days. You can NEVER make something so vile and evil from our enemy good. It is deplorable that they chose to put Christ's birthday on the same day as a sun god. The very thing that God hates. This was done deliberately.
Malachi 4:1For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. The sun of righteousness is Immanuel or the Son of God🤷🏽♂️
@ice sicle None of those literally mean He is the Sun or the equivalent of a sun god. Just because the Bible uses simile, metaphor, and hyperbole to describe the characteristics of God and compare them to the virtues of the sun does not justify a person to treat Him as if He were the literal sun or sun god. This reasoning is highly misguided
@@MisterTurner-ex1fv This is metaphor, guys. Are you guys Catholics? I have seen Catechisms where they use metaphorical passages as these as if they were literal declarations just as u guys are doing, only they were doing it to justify Sunday worship. Such is not wise. This is one reason why we are taught Language arts in School :/ no offense Calling Jesus "the Sun of righteousness" is what we call the literary devices of hyperbole or metaphor. This does not mean that Jesus is literally honored in the same way that the Sun is worshipped. If I call you a knuckle head for believing such things does that mean that your head is literally a knuckle?
We don't care whether Jesus born on 25th December or not. But the truth is Jesus born in Bethlehem in Judea, Israel, for all human beings. Bible says, anyone dedicating the day for God's sake let it be Lord's day. So Greeks and Romans dedicated 25th of December dedicated to God to remember Jesus born in this world. Instead of criticizing the day, enjoy the day with praise and worship. Honor him by remembering him.
Hi Doug, this is the first time I heard a SDA pastor agrees with Paul as not to set a stumbling block before Christians by criticism, judgemental self righteous arrogance or careless insentivity with them over observances of Holidays like Christmas and Easter which are a matter of conscience between them and God....there is no clear cut black and white answers to this "Christmas" Questions whether it is Christ, Santa or Satan controversies. Let's observe or not observe traditional Christian holidays or even Jewish Holy Days as Messianic Jews still do with a clear conscience before God and not set up ourselves as "mini" judges because the Chief Judge Himself is standing at the door!
1John2: 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Exe 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. The Saviour Himself has given signs of His coming, and He says, “When ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.” “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.” “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:31, 34, 36. - {DA 234.4}
I am delighted to discover how many on here are interested in escaping the traditions they feel may put them at enmity with God. One comment below suggested the tree is an idol in which we bow before it to put or receive presents. Unreal! This is NOT worship! Worship begins and ends in the heart! If this is worship, because thousands of yrs ago there were pagan practices linked to it . . . Then STOP immediately driving your vehicles! Close to 50% of cars have pagan marquis/emblems or astrological sign on them. STOP visiting certain coffee shops that have a certain false god on their coffee cups that your eyes stare at every time you take a sip. Or throw away certain clothing you own which have a pagan logo woven in to the fabric. It is the “intentions of the heart” (Romans 8:27). If a Christian’s conscience is disturbed by a certain holiday(s), then they should not celebrate it. However, those of Christians that, even upon researching the holiday and discover attachments of long ago to paganism, are okay with their conscience because they know they are committed to God and reject paganism - should be free to do so without guilt. Notice this very point by the apostle Paul: “One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. " Notice also a parallel the apostle makes: In the Bible in 1 Corinthians 10:23-33, Paul speaks about meat sacrificed to idols that was then later sold in the meat market place. The question arose, "Should a Christian each such meat?" Paul answers the question in verse 25 when he says, "Eat anything that is sold in the meat market, without asking questions for conscience' sake." Paul said that it was okay to eat the meat. Then in verses 28-29 he says, "But if anyone should say to you, 'This is meat sacrificed to idols,' do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for conscience' sake; 29 I mean not your own conscience, but the other man's; for why is my freedom judged by another's conscience?" Paul is saying that if you are with someone who might be negatively affected by your eating meat that was sacrificed to idols, then don't eat it -- not because of you, but because of the other person. In other words, eating that meat won't affect you. The false gods are not real (Galatians 4:8-9). They have no power. 1 Corinthians 8:7-9 echoes this idea. It says, "However not all men have this knowledge; but some, being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. 8 But food will not commend us to God; we are neither the worse if we do not eat, nor the better if we do eat. 9 But take care lest this liberty of yours somehow become a stumbling block to the weak."
Has anyone ever realized that Santa is just the word Satan mixed up! He's coming in a red suit down a fire chimney???? It's crazy that parents teach this to their children!
Thanks Doug for the good video.. As summary : Anything without faith.. just don't do it.. Yes, We can celebrate the Christmas with faith as thanks giving for God's so love us as sinners (John 3:16-19). God bless you and your channel.
You’re celebrating a lie. We need to Honor Him every day, we do not need a special day His birth didn’t mention in the Scriptures and the few birthdays that was mentioned in the scriptures end up in death. When I lived in sin I celebrated because I didn’t know better I didn’t know anything about the Bible only what was told to me. But when I came to knowledge a little over 3 years ago it all stop. I find it hypocritical Christians wouldn’t honor the festivals in the Bible but they would honor man made holidays. Christians would say those festivals are for the Jews. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ( YAHushua ) Galatians 3:28 NKJ Meaning we are one in our Almighty Savior no separation.
Pastor Batchelor, all I can say is ba humbug 🙏🏻 Since you confirm that really know one knows for sure when Christ was born and it’s not really a sin, why does it matter? Christ was born on an unknown date, so man picked a date to celebrate that beautiful event and now it is enshrined forever. As long as we don’t forget why we celebrate Christmas and as you say, it’s not a sin, lets simply celebrate the birth of the King of Kings and Love on another. Now, lets all chill out, read Matt 1:18-25 to our children, and then settle down to watch “A Christmas Carol” and “it’s a Wonderful Life”. Just saying...

“take this bread...and wine...to remember Me...”
Because he wasn't born on Christmas and the bible doesn't say when Jesus was born(no hate)
God didn't command us to watch TH-cam videos either.
And, thank heavens that he didn't command us not to!!

Jesus is the gate and the path. He is getting neither straighter nor narrower. Why not celebrate His incarnation?

Halloween/ Christmas/ Easter all look the same. No color-blindness here on this subject
For example, you could say, “Something tells me you’re a good kid and wouldn’t do the devil’s works.” Or, if someone is dressed as a ghost, you could say, “What’s really great is that we have good angels and saints watching over us.”
With a little creativity, you can turn Halloween into an occasion for evangelizing. After all, on what other night are you going to have all kinds of kids-and their parents-knocking on your door with smiles on their faces? Providing them candy gives you an entree into sharing the gospel with them.

The Gospel don't need help from Christmas. God is suficiente. AMEN

Decorations on a tree are not necessary, and please don’t tire us with playing O Christmas tree, over and over. That would seem like adulation of the tree. e2sguy Read Christmas, Easter, and Halloween- Where did they come from? by Vance Ferrell.
I always love your quote from Paul that says “don’t do anything that causes your brother to stumble.”
Although the verses in Jeremiah isn’t about Christmas tree, I think it is related to how we use the Christmas tree.
Here’s my testimony;
I was raised in a very conventional SDA family in Asia.
Thank you for sharing your testimony
Amén!
Jeremiah 10 is about the Christmas tree 🎄
At minute 9:11, Doug says: "...but if there is a pagan practice that conflicts with a Biblical principle, then you should stay away from that."
Celebrating Christmas INDEED conflicts with a Biblical principle:
Israel, as you go into the land and attack the nations that are there, [YHWH] will get rid of them, and you can have their land. But that's when you must BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL not to ask, “How did those nations worship their gods?
*SHOULDN'T WE WORSHIP [YHWH] IN THE SAME WAY?”*
NO, YOU SHOULD NOT!

Putting up a tree and celebrating Christmas is pagan and has no roots in Jesus ministry or life.
You sound like you are watering down the Bible and worship of Jesus. You should denounce Christmas. Being all things to all men does not mean doing what they do!
@David Miles christmas day, Christmas tree, ballbals, yule log, santa, all of it is pagan.
@David Miles what cult is that david?
@David Miles that's right they did stop feeding Christian's to the wild animals when they adopted paganism into chhristianity!
Christmass should not be celebrated. Period. Pastor explained it very well in the beginning. The end is sad...
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them. James 4:17
Let's read what Jesus told us to do in REMEMBRANCE OF HIM 1Cort 11:24,25. That is what we should be celebrating.
Merry Horusmass
To celebrate Christ b day is not a sin. Love joy an giving is righteous. What about feast days celebrations. Do it modestly an prayerfully.
Thank you, Pastor Doug. This is a very wise and common sense approach to Christmas.
Jesus was a Palestinian
@@buttshivaz2505 Palestinians are more akin to Philistines which, like Palestinians who are pagans and arch enemies of Israel!
These days people celebrate is of this world. Christmas starts with a lie...... when you tell your kid Santa is coming

Are you being sarcastic❓I can’t tell for sure because I can’t here the tone of your voice.
And when so called christians say we're celebrating our Lord Jesus birth"..... That's a lie they are excusing and have started to believe because h wasn't born then. People reject the truth and don't want to change their worldly pagan ways!!
And 3ABN can't seem to leave it alone with their Christmas trees and carol singing!
If you rearrange Santa it's satan
Praise God jesus we love you king thank you ABBA father for sending such a perfect vine hallelujah
I agree totally with Pastor Doug!
I used to have an invisible friend as a child. Whenever I was lonely or sad, afraid or in need of guidance I would talk to him and I would feel better. I then grew up, left home and stopped going to church
Well said Doug, God Bless you.
Christmas carols are what are bringing me closer to being religious… as odd as that sounds. I celebrate Christmas as a cultural holiday but if it’s making me seek Jesus then it can’t be wrong.
Being religious has absolutely nothing to do with worship.
Its about a relationship with Him.
Worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
@@Snowcrystalsfallingthat’s just rhetoric
But based on this verse:
“Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.”
Deuteronomy 12:30-32 KJV
(In this verse) God also commands us not to worship Him according to the practices of pagans.
So I only hope that this comment might spark a pursuit of
WHAT DOES GOD SAY, in all who read it.
And at the end of the day, my prayer is that ONLY WHAT GOD WANTS, IS WHAT WE WANT, and ONLY WHAT GOD SAYS, IS WHAT WE AGREE WITH and OBEY!
🥰 God Bless all who read this!!
Amen, well said! Follow the Lord Jesus Christ, and stick to his word. You are on the right tract. God bless you🙏
Very beautiful you are exactly right 100% the Bible speaks about not following pagan holidays which we know the Christmas originated from the pagans he is very firm I'm not following pagan celebrations and yes on December 25th the pagans do celebrate their sun God
Happy Sabbath Tracie! Welcome to the 7th day Sabbath keeping family. Your comment is on target. Sadly many people are being taught smooth messages that do not bring conviction to their hearts.

My Adventist church in England celebrate Christmas, I and my wife don't. It is a shame that our local adventist church encourages it
Dragon talk... Xmas is pagan. Period!!!

This year Christmas is SUNDAY and all the Adventists will play hypocrites, so they can APPEAR to be Christian.
Those songs are man made doctrine the best part of Christmas for me was the songs. I know better now. I don’t even like them it’s not bringing God glory. The way we give God glory is by living by His words daily.
If God wanted me to celebrate his son’s birth it would have been in
Scripture just like the other feast days and festivals in the Bible.

2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face;…
5 Which say, *Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.*
6 Behold, it is written before me: *I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,*

Here in the Philippines, we celebrate Christmas for 3 months, Oct, Nov , Dec. Get together of families and loved ones.
Exactly what came To my mind this morning. How is it that atheists also celebrate Christmas a "Christian" holiday?
Kara Wilde most people are in bondage of not letting Christmas go but I love the lord with all my heart soul in mind and if not celebrating Christmas is what I have to do then that’s what I have to do like I said don’t take Jeremiah 10 out of context it clearly state it yet people switch up words to make it sound different so they can keep there idol tree

You cannot put an idol and christianize it and say that it is used to look towards the things G-D did through Yeshua/Jesus because it would be just the same thing as the golden calf to represent a replacement of Moses to guide the people towards G-D...

God bless
Ps get rid of the pagan traditions...
When I arose, today, December 25th, I said the same thing I said yesterday, the 24th
Thank you Lord, for another day.
(Not easter by the way)
He will also return and judge the hearts of men.
Many who believe to be saved will say "lord lord"........ unfortunately he will reply "away from me, I never knew you...."
Probably the scariest verse in the bible as far as I'm concerned.
"
Just want to share my view, the spirit of Christmas is to be celebrated everyday but December is the climax of all.

I used to practice some Wiccan ways before I was born again and as I have researched there were many in Europe at the time who used to bring gifts to “god” and put them under the green trees (at this time of year) and now down to the tree to honor their “god’s”
So in my mind this practice is heretical for Christians to do, because even though they don’t mean it to honor that “god” they still do the same act.
Great explanation!
Halleluyah, Yah's feast are set aside and forgotten while pagan holidays are highlighted, may Yah have mercy on us.

We live in a World full of Lies & Deceit ...
what ABOUT the globe?
RA WK doesn't believe in Flat Earth
CastlevaniaDXC Very odd indeed for a Pastor - not believing in God’s (YHWH) Creation of the Earth, as described in Genesis 1-2...
and also supported by the 145+ other Bible verses, that state we live on/in a fixed immovable Plane ...
But I guess he believe’s in the false ~ God”less”~ Big Bang Theory too (hence the Globe).
Guess that’s why he’s also saying it’s fine to celebrate Pagan holidays!
Scotty Bow i know i know so sad indeed
Scotty Bow do you keep the 7th Day Sabbath holy?

@ice sicle
None of those literally mean He is the Sun or the equivalent of a sun god. Just because the Bible uses simile, metaphor, and hyperbole to describe the characteristics of God and compare them to the virtues of the sun does not justify a person to treat Him as if He were the literal sun or sun god. This reasoning is highly misguided
@@MisterTurner-ex1fv
This is metaphor, guys. Are you guys Catholics? I have seen Catechisms where they use metaphorical passages as these as if they were literal declarations just as u guys are doing, only they were doing it to justify Sunday worship. Such is not wise. This is one reason why we are taught Language arts in School :/ no offense
Calling Jesus "the Sun of righteousness" is what we call the literary devices of hyperbole or metaphor. This does not mean that Jesus is literally honored in the same way that the Sun is worshipped. If I call you a knuckle head for believing such things does that mean that your head is literally a knuckle?

That's not even a real verse in the Bible...
You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free. Thank you Pastor Doug👏🙏
I see you took down my GLOBE earth comment. God says we live UNDER a firmament while NON MOVING. Y
Focus on loving Christ instead of small things that don’t matter
@@elliesilva1907 It's not small. Believing a lie is never small.
@@elliesilva1907 The LIE of GOD'S creation is NOT a small thing, at all.
1John2: 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Exe 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
The Saviour Himself has given signs of His coming, and He says, “When ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.” “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.” “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:31, 34, 36. - {DA 234.4}
Notice this very point by the apostle Paul:
“One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. "
Notice also a parallel the apostle makes:
In the Bible in 1 Corinthians 10:23-33, Paul speaks about meat sacrificed to idols that was then later sold in the meat market place.

( YAHushua )
Galatians 3:28 NKJ Meaning we are one in our Almighty Savior no separation.
Yahusha was born 9/11. Research into why & when Ethiopia observes its new year and it will make sense.

This is one of the best explanation I heard about this topic !! Well done Paster
