Last Words: "I Thirst" (John

"I'm thirsty." These were among the Lord's last words before he died on the Cross. In response, someone dipped a sponge in wine, stuck it on the end of a hyssop branch, and lifted it up to the lips of the Savior to quench his thirst. In the simple request of Jesus, and the response from someone in the crowd, we learn much about the unique identity of Jesus, the God-Man who came from Heaven and earth to save humanity, and about our calling in the world to serve the needs of others.
