My son lives in Austin.. his family was affected.. water and power and pipes broke... I'm a prepared person in AZ.. but not as good as you.. but my son's family wasn't prepared. I've given up trying to tell him.. you can bring them to water but you can't make them drink. Just at first glance you should be very proud.

Very good but remember if this would be a grid down situation. That means only eating from pre made canned or packaged meals. Unless you have a way for cooking that won’t attract attention. Stock up on canned meals and get those canned carrots, there won’t be any fresh vegetables, unless you have a garden. 👍🏻

I just worry about ppl with kids in the future. Idk what the future holds, but I think ppl should be going to the thrift store to buy extra larger sizes of clothes, coats, shoes, gloves, hats and scarves. You will also need extra socks and underwear for the whole family for a yr.
I'd rather be prepared for extra sizes for all the kids.

Don’t need an electrician. When your at Sams or Costco just pick up a whole new LED light fixture and change yourself. 3 wires, just take notice of how you take apart the old one and reverse the steps to put in the new one. It’s super easy and shouldn’t cost more than $30. Great pantry, I’ve never had grits, something we don’t really eat in Hawaii but I will go and try it.
I had shrimp and grits when I was in South Carolina and thought, “This is just like Cream of Wheat.” I couldn’t see the difference.

The first time I ever watched one of your videos was when you first started prepping. I was hooked! I cleaned out our spare bedroom closet, stuck a shelf in there and the rest is history! I laugh because you will mention that you went out and bought something because you heard or saw someone else with it, then there I go to the store picking up the same thing. Hubby is like "why did you buy that"? I'm like, "cause Hope bought it", he's like " not again " 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I told all of my family members just because you mite see a lot of items in the grocery store please check were they come from do to the bad weather it mite take a farmer a while to get back up on his feet so if you see something that you like stock up on that item, have a blessed and safe day
Anyone who says negative words about food storage, will be a fool. I've been doing food storage for 36 years and it has save me and my children so many times
I've been prepping for a long time and I don't worry about what others think because I feel good knowing I have provided for my family and can help others if need be. I STILL love to watch these videos to see things that maybe I'm not thinking of or forgot about. By the way, I'm the only girl in my family of 5 also....and these guys EAT! My husband and I started our prep journey last year around the end of March and it was actually my husband who had started watching your videos and showing me and we have been hooked. I see that you have pickling and canning stuff....that is definitely something that I want to learn how to do. I have a ton of mason jars ...but I have not started trying to can yet. I love your shelves.....i need to purchase new shelving because I have the hard plastic but I would love to have the metal ones like you have. I love how you write the dates on the packaging...........and I will definitely start doing that. I love how you have your pastas, sugar and flour stored in those containers and I love those because you can see what it is. Get some Shelf Stable UHT milk
I used that 40 years ago when I lived in England.
It’s real milk -
Refrigerate before drinking for best taste.
Keeps 14 days once open.
No refrigerator necessary until opened.
DT has the best prices.

I love to keep both regular and SS Nut milk on hand. Beside some powdered that I will use in cooking. I also will freeze my buttermilk (beside dry)

You can buy the UHT milk at Walmart and other groceries-
But it’s around $3.00/container.
Absolutely NO taste difference-
I like 3 for the price of 1 personally 😉
Dollar Tree carries Gosner’s UHT milk in whole and 1%. It is a quart container and is perfect for us!

If every last one of y'all live where I live at I live where there's hurricanes you would want the amount of food she's got because sometimes the stores are closed for three days and sometimes you have no power for 3 days so you will want that food so don't discriminate on people who stock up stock up well

Can jar sealing and mylar is better. Mylar is best for long term storage. I used the plastic for short term storage. Do what works best for you Tammy. Thanks for watching!

What is the difference in a working pantry, a emergency pantry and I feel there's one more, ??
How do you know how much food to store ? There's just 2 of us, but I'd like to have enough so if my two boys and their families need a place to go, we'd have enough to cover them as well.
Also how do you know what types of food to get ? I mean I know water is a must, it's #1 on my list even though I don't drink it, but my family does.
How do you keep inventory on what you have ?
Should you also stock pile dog and cat foods, treats, pads, etc ? What about cleaning items ? Hygiene item's? Batteries ?
Does anyone have a stock pile of paper plates, solo cups, plastic silverware, foils, waxes, freezer bags, etc.
I'm also curious about how to store large amounts of say flour of different types, meal, sugar, oatmeal, noodles, etc. What is the proper way to do that and it not cost me two arms and 4 legs ?
Years ago I ran upon a off grid video and I recall starry I think was her name say " don't put all of your eggs in one basket " meaning not to say only have frozen dinners, meats, etc. To have canned items as well, where's a great source to find out how to can food's, especially meat's ? Also a place to tell you what you can and can't can ?

A working pantry is an everyday pantry that you use. When we run out of something I go to my prepper/emergency pantry. I think everyone should start with a week and work up to a month, then 3 months. I will see if I can find the article that was helpful for me. Buy what you eat, you do not want to buy food you do not eat. You will waste your money and food. Purchase foods that will last longer such as canned goods, beans, rice, sugar, and honey. These items have long expiration dates. Yes and go through it often to look at the dates. Yes, I have a stockpile of all of those items. I share those items in the playlist videos. Homestead Heart was a great reference many TH-cam friends referred me to. First aid kit: band-aids, alcohol, pain-relief ointment, peroxide, pain meds, gauze, and whatever else you think you need. Dollar Tree is a great place to create your own kit.

Before there were supermarkets, people stored a year’s worth of food as a matter of course. In Switzerland, there are still people who have no access to a supermarket for over 6 months of every year. In Alaska, it’s totally normal to store a year’s worth of food... Do I need to go on?

Elise it is doable! Use the space under your bed, place a shelf in the corner or clean out a closet and de clutter. It may not look the prettiest but you have a stockup. I hope that helps!
