For years I've eaten ramen with vegetables and - yes! hot dogs! Beef hot dogs, cut into coins, and cooked in boiling water. Then add your favorite vegetables. I like corn and lima beans, plus carrots and any leftover cooked vegetables. Then I add cut up scallions and the noodles. I add soy sauce, sesame oil, and a little bit of hot chili oil to the soup base when I put the noodles, vegetables and meat in the bowl.
Hebrew Nationals or Nathan's are my goto hot dogs to add to Ramen. I'll drop in a raw egg while cooking. Lots of green onion. Then finish with some Tapatio hot sauce, sesame oil and a touch of rice wine vinegar.
I would never have thought of adding tomato to ramen!! He just made Margarita Ramen!!!!! Margarita pizza is my favorite! For those who don't know Margarita pizza is fresh tomato, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil! I will be trying the tomato ramen this weekend!! THANK YOU Shitoshi! I would never have thought of making this! OK I'm going to make both, but the tomato one has got my brain working over time! LOL
You are my lifesaver. The raman company in the US use to have a tomato raman and now I can't find it anywhere. Now I know how to fix that problem. Thank you a billion. Hugs.
Mindy's Mom - absolutely love him! I’ve been watching Shinichi and Satoshi for about 18 months after TabiEats came up in my recommendations. I knew very little about Japan, but thanks to the channel and everyone who contributes, I’ve been introduced to the most incredible food and culture. Can’t wait to visit!! 🇯🇵 🇬🇧
Louise O’Connor ......Sweet! TabiEats’ channel is amazing, and I’m so glad that it’s given you the opportunity to learn about Japan. I truly hope we get to see you at the next livestream. Happy Holidays’ to you and yours! ♥️
I made the tomato miso ramen today. We just happened to have two packs of the Sapporo Ichiban miso ramen. My wife loves tomatoes so she was definitely excited. It turned out fantastic. The umami of tomato, miso, and mozzarella was wonderful.
I really love all of this! I might have rolled the basil and cut in fine strips for the tomato ramen so it would look like seaweed strips. Both recipes look so good! Great, as always.
Love the upgrades to the basic ramen bowl. The 'label' when adding the 1 cup of diced tomatoes says that's 500 mls ... it's 250 ml (1 cup) of water with 250 ml (1 cup) of diced tomatoes with liquid. If you don't have any fresh basil leaves I'm sure a tablespoon of jarred Genovese pesto made is with fresh basil would be delicious.
Oh gosh, both of the ramen look way too good! The tomato version reminds me of a caprese salad. And I love nabe so much. What a splendid idea! You’re an absolute genius, Satoshi-san! Thanks so much!
I want to try these so much now! I love tomatoes, and that thick stew-like texture is perfect for a cold day. The nabe ramen is more difficult since I can't get anything other than the carrots at the local store, but maybe one day I will get some supplies. :) My favourite topping for ramen is cheese - I put a little bit of extra sharp cheddar in Samyang cheese soup ramen and Shin Black ramen as well as sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds, and green onions on top. I usually also put some frozen peas and corn in the pot just before the noodles go in to boil (a minute less than the instructions because I like chewier noodles too, and I eat slowly).
Satoshi, this was a great demonstration on how to up the instant noodle game. I like to throw whatever ingredients I have on hand to make a unique dish, and you’ve given me ideas to improve!
Your recipes look delicious Satoshi ! In Canada in the winter I make lots of homemade soup, stews, chili and meat pies...any kind of comfort food will do...also love Shepherds pie as well. Thanks for sharing...I will give your recipes a try !!
These look tasty. My grandmother used to make beef stew in winter. I like to make chili. Those are the closest thing to hot spots I can think of here in the US.
Satoshi san, hope you are feeling all ok by now. Adding miso soup base into tomato juice was something I had never thought of doing it myself. Another a-ha! moment for me from your shows. Thank you for a great idea!
Hi! I just made the tomato ramen for me and my maa alongside my homemade fried curry gyoza for dinner! It was delicious! Also you were right about adding the miso to the tomatoes yum! yum! Maa says my cooking skills and dishes I make are magic these days ever since I found your channel. Maa absolutely loves the korokke recipe! They're so good it's dangerous, so I only make those once in a while or otherwise we'll put on too much weight lol! Thank you from Australia 😁👍🌸💖🌸💖🌸💖🌸💖
I have a spicy instant ramen recipe that I like to use for chicken flavored ramen. It's really good on a cold winter day, or just anytime you feel like having a spicy ramen. It's not restaurant quality by any means, but for me it's just an enjoyable meal with a good amount of heat to it that's incredibly easy to make. - 2tsp shichimi togarashi - 1/2tbsp low sodium soy sauce - 1 clove minced garlic or 1/2tsp garlic powder - ramen seasoning packet, or using homemade spice recipe down below - 1 pack instant ramen noodles Homemade ramen seasoning - 1tsp McCormick poultry seasoning - 1tsp garlic powder - 1tsp onion powder - 1 chicken bullion cube, crushed to a fine powder - 1/2tsp black pepper In a disposable or reusable spice pouch add in the shischimi togarashi, garlic powder (if using minced garlic do not add into the spice pouch), and ramen seasoning. Bring 2 cups of water to a near boil over a medium-high heat. Add in low sodium soy sauce up to 1tbsp if desired, the minced garlic (if using minced garlic), and the spice pouch. Leave to boil for 5 minutes before taking the broth off the heat and removing the spice pouch. Cover until ready to plate. If you do not have a spice pouch, put the spices in a 10cm by 10cm (4in by 4in) square of cheese cloth and tie it with twine. In a separate pot, bring another 2 cups of water to a boil over high heat and add instant ramen noodles. Boil for about 3 minutes, or until noodles are soft. Drain the pan of water and put noodles into a strainer or colander. Rinse under hot water to cleanse any excess starch. Add noodles and pour broth into a bowl. For vegetables, if desired: boil 1 cup of spinach in 2 cups water until stalks are softened, finely chop one stalk of either American or Japanese green onion and dispose of roots, peel and Julianne 1 small carrot into 5cm (2in) strips, add about 5 strips seasoned bamboo shoots (menma), and 1 strip of seaweed paper (nori) to the bowl after plating noodles and broth.
What maybe goes well with the tomato ramen is raw ham or pancetta, for those who don't eat cheese. The nabe ramen looks delicious. I'm going to try that this winter :) We do have some winter dishes, but not really like a hotpot. The most famous two are thick pea soup and a dish called stamppot (cooked potatoes, vegetbales and meat). Of the latter there are many different variaties.
Wa Sugoi ne, brother! I never thought to pair ramen noodles with tomato, miso, basil, and cheese. I love that brother Laurence loves the combination as well! Definitely something we will try! Our local Japanese market has a tray of fresh veggies, specifically for nabe, so now I have reason to purchase it. ☺️ My all time favorite is shabu shabu. Everything is so fresh, and the O niku is so thin, that along with the dipping sauces, and finally ending with udon noodles-So oishi! Thank you for sharing these two delicious instant ramen dishes! 😋♥️😋
Those look so good! I've never had real Hot Pot, but I've made my own versions of Chanko Nabe using what I could find here in the US. I live near Seattle, so it's not TOO bad trying to find authentic ingredients.
In the USA well at least in Michigan we eat a lot of soaps and stew in winter time, I don't know if you'd call it a hot pot but yes we do something close.
I love adding toppings to my instant ramen so give it a little something extra. But it doesn't come close to the hotpot restaurant I found last year. Soooo good perfect on a cold rainy day like we're having here in San Diego.
This is GREAT! and it gives me an idea for my instagram account. I usually post food pictures but I want to try ramen upgrades #RamenUpgrades Thanks Satoshi!
Ramen is comfort food for me, both upgraded (i love curry and cheeseburger ramen the most), and basic, they used to have pizza ramen which was so good for basic ramen! I also like adding shredded ham and green onions to most ramen for a fast upgrade ^_^
Thank you, Satoshi, for the cooking lesson! Both ramen recipes look very good. I love nabe, so the second one looks especially good to me! Thank you so much for your video. :-)
I eat hotpot the last time when I visited Tokyo. In The Netherlands we have stamppot in wintertime. I want to try the hotpotramen. Thank you for sharing.
Your combination are so yummy I always watch too get new and different ideas please don't ever stop Satoshi I also like my noodles like you not to soft where is Justin ?
This entire video makes me "very warm!" Such an enthusiastic teacher!!
Satoshi, your enthusiasm is contagious! I enjoy watching you cook!
I love Satoshi's creativity in the kitchen :)

I will definitely be making tomato, cheese miso ramen, Satoshi says they are friends so it must be delicious!!
Louise O’Connor.....Right?!? Brother Satoshi is THE cutest ever!!! ♥️

The pork and vegetable ramen hot pot looked fantastic!
Love it...I usually put konyaku (sp?), diakon, Chinese cabbage, thin chicken, green onions and yam noodles. I want to try this one too!

Looks so good.
I grew up eating macaroni and tomatoes. The food you made looks much better.
Yum! Great ideas! I love your recipe videos.
so cool
The tomato ramen looks soooo good, Satoshi. 🤤 Especially with the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
The nabe ramen looks soooo goooooood! I can really make that at home.
I love hot pot, I usually go to the Chinese hot pot place all year around.
What maybe goes well with the tomato ramen is raw ham or pancetta, for those who don't eat cheese. The nabe ramen looks delicious. I'm going to try that this winter :)

鍋、最近は市販の鍋スープ使っちゃってますね。大根をスライサーで薄くしたのと揚げ麸を入れるのが好きです😊
I love adding toppings to my instant ramen so give it a little something extra. But it doesn't come close to the hotpot restaurant I found last year. Soooo good perfect on a cold rainy day like we're having here in San Diego.
That nabe ramen looks amazing!
