@@detroitgarage9430 It may only apply to models 980/981. But on the dash of the Tank Transporters commissioned by the UK in WW2. There was a guage called the 'Viscometer'. Presumably somethiing to do with the consistency of the oil. When the Hercules engines were replaced with Rolls Royce units post war, they had a slightly smaller displacement, but max power and max torque came at more useful revs. Making the best of the power available. The viscometer guages were removed then. Just wondered if anyone could shed any light on the purpose and calibration, and how they were used, and how helpful they were!
Nice, the Cadillac's of trucks.:) What model do you have? Thanks, I measure again today and would love the 6V53T, but looks like it just might be another 4-53T.:) Thanks for watching.:)
@@detroitgarage9430 I've got a 306h it's a short hood. A 453t is going to be really tight. I'm trying to find a good Trans. The 453t I have came with a Clark 5 speed not sure how its going hold up. I'm planning a ramp truck to haul other vehicles.
This will definitely run, part 2 will be a fun one :)
It has good compression, so it should run.:) Thanks for watching.:)
What was the purpose of the legendary Diamond T viscometer, and what use was it?
I'm not sure, never heard of it.:)

@@adrianliddell329 Nice, the Clark is a good trans, but might not have enough gears. I think they used to be paired to a two speed rear end.
@@detroitgarage9430 interesting my diamond has a 2 speed Eaton rear end in the back. Could be workable.
@@adrianliddell329 That will work, my Diamond T also has a two speed rear axle.:)
👍
Thanks for watching.:)
Start it already
You need to go to part 2 to see it start.:)
