Today I’d agree with you on the 120 thousand, but then, trucks weren’t usually driven like we do today, they didn’t run to Walmart and McDonald’s every day…..
It ain't got no gas in it.sorry couldn't help it.😊😅😂utube sux😊
Driving a truck like this was hard work, especially on the rough roads they had back in the day. 50,000 miles in one of these is like 300,000 in a modern vehicle.
Love this channel. Please see these trucks through, or do more on your stuff. Not enough channels finishing projects.
I like the simple to the point and helpful tips,no drama and four letter words!God Bless youall -Vic Prineville Oregon!
It's disrespectful to watch a channel and not subscribe! It doesn't cost anything nor does it obligate you to anything. It just supports the channel and helps the people who spend their money and time making the videos that you like to watch. these guys earn it. And if they've kept you entertained or engaged for the video. It ain't gonna hurt you to hit the like button. They've earned that too.
Appreciate that 💪🏼💪🏼
Really enjoy this content. Love the interaction with dad and son. "Work that throttle!" "I am!" Love it.
That old pickup is “Ram tough.” Love it.
Ill say the coolest thing is that you are fortunate to work this project with your dad, I wish i could work my projects with my Papa RIP dad I miss you ❤
Amazing how suspenseful it is when that engine is turning over and almost running...I was thinking, "Come on, come on...please start so I can breathe easy again!"
Great trk. I had a old dodge pickup Iam 76 years old I got to see all the old cars growing up. No computers just good old basics. I've had alot of the old cars . Really like the idea of you and your Dad saving thes old cars and trks.
The 49 is going to take a little work. You men do a great job on this old Iron. And your dads body work is awesome on El Camino The 46 International is cool. Parts I can see going to be tough. Thank you for sharing! ❤️💯
That's a cool old truck! I miss Arizona. I use to live in Thatcher right outside of Safford and also Prescott Valley. Someday I'll make it back to visit family
Not a bad area and thank you for the stickers just got them
Hope you guys get another chance to get that old Dodge running. Such a cool truck. Kuddos to Daddy Rick on the El Camino body work. It's looking great.

What a great moment preserved for prosperity.
Father and son side by side as it should be.
Awesome channel. I really enjoy seeing the 40, 50s model trucks. Keep up the great work! You and your father make a great team! My late father and I were best friends and we worked on everything together..trucks, tractors, dozers etc. he’s been gone 15 years now. Treasure what you have there together!
Love the old trucks. I have a 68 Dodge. I wish mine had a hemi instead of the 318 now. Thumbs Up and have a good weekend also.
I love these older machines. Looking forward to the next installment. 🇬🇧👍
You don’t have to worry about me. I will keep watching a video with old cars and a father son team. Not to mention I love the El Camino.
If it was up to me, I'd pull the day light's out of it till it ran.
If the tires woulda held air ida tried
You guys are great! Glad to hear the International is still around!! Looking forward to seeing the following video!!!
I see wheel studs with lug nuts. That means 3/4-ton. Half tons had wheel bolts. That is a great find!
Your Dad is good at everything 😁👍
Definitely is
👍😁
Working with your father can be pleasant and fun, or miserable and aggravating.
My father and I do carpentry, flip homes, build decks, do landscaping... That kind of thing. He's broad strokes, work fast, see the project being completed.
I love the meticulous small things. Taking the interior out of my car to deep clean it every couple years, making sure everything fits perfectly, figuring out the why and how.
It's nice you two have similar interests and goals and can have a back and forth like 21:47.
I like many, am enjoying watching the two of you work and rebuild things together.
Appreciate that thank you for sharing
Hell yeah, new video. Much love from Texas
Thanks for watching from Texas
This is beyond cool. I hope the subscriber comes through with the door and other parts you need. I can see tons of content coming onto youtube. Please be safe.
That tail fin ERASES any possible “disappointment” I would have over not getting that Dodger started. I never appreciated beat up old trucks before you folks showed me how cool they could be. Not even “Mater” from “Cars” could make me like rusted old hulks, lol. Mahalo for another super video. I know the Sun is unrelenting out there and that you couldn’t bring Boo with you, but maybe you just needed a pinch of his supervision and inspiration, lol. Take care and Aloha to all three of you.❤
I’m glad you enjoy our vids and yes boo had to stay home
El Camino. ❤ 👏👏🤘🏼👍👍 I'm happy to see those vehicles coming together. Thanks for the updates
Nice to watching you guys working on these classics.
keep going with good simple content.
greets from belgium ;-)
Thanks for watching from belgium!
And the lifetime achievement award goes to the starter motor at 70+ and still givin the beans.
Seriously it ran better than the engine lol
Greetings from West Michigan. I enjoy your videos. Staying tight to a budget and being creative in getting those rusty treasures going again. I especially like the '60 El Camino project. Your Dad, Rick is working some magic with his metalworking skills. Good luck and keep the videos coming. 👍
Yes he’s a wizard
That make two of us from the West Michigan area!
@@Ranman451I am in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan myself.😊
Oh man nice work on the El Camino guys. That looks amazing 👌 you guys are doing the right thing by repurposing old parts👍 love that international.
My Dad had a '49 dodge pickup like that one. Would be cool to see the old girl running again
Always a good time seeing what you find
I’m in cochise
I too am always keeping my eyes open for things like this 👍
Great to see the ‘46 International again. One of my favorite trucks on anybody’s channel. Can’t wait to see the next video on it!
Kept a can of ether behind my seat for days like you're having. Never failed me.
You're so lucky to have this passion to share with your dad!
Yes very lucky
This has become one of my top 5 favorite channels to watch. I can’t wait to see more about this ‘49 Dodge, and thank you for the updates on the El Camino and the ‘46 International! Keep up the great work!🙂🙂🙂🙂
Thank you for watching. The more views the more we can do!
The last conversation I had with my dad was him wanting to build this truck. He was very detailed about what he wanted. 225 slant 6/904 automatic. He preferred the 3 on the tree but had just had hip replacement and couldn't clutch. 2 days later I got the call that he had passed. I want one of these in his honor.
Sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing
Can't believe what a great job your dad did on that Chevy nice
Pretty insane . Looks so good
Great vid. Halfass Customs have a unique way of getting the compression up for starting. He puts it in gear and drags it around the yard with a forklift for half an hour. Seems to work. Probably would break a bent valve though.
Yeah that’s a good way of doing it if you can
I never knew there was such a thing as an 8 volt battery. Thanks for sharing that with us.
Not very common yea
Awesome channel you dad is doing a great job on El Camino and love that International!
Thanks yeah he’s killin it !
Good job dad
You and your pops are a great team love it guys
Thank you
great video again! keep us up to date with any luck you have finding parts for the cars.
Kool old skool Dodge, nice patina. I never heard of an 8 volt battery.
Cool thanks for your time 😊
28:12 you have a great channel here - the interaction between you and your dad is amazing. You work on the types of vehicles I love. I hope to hear this old Dodge flat six run soon.
I had N 8 volt battery in my 1940 Pontiac. Worked great.
Love the father and son squabbling haha
LOVE THE VIDEO,S. YOU AND DAD DO GREAT WORK. TRUCK VIDEO,S ARE GREAT. SAVE THEM ONE AT A TIME. WAITING FOR MORE. THANKS GUYS.
Fantastic episode Ur doing a fantastic job
Man you and your dad are doing a great job with the Chanel I'm a true sob and I love the Chanel so keep on keeping on
Heck yeah thanks for the feedback
If you look at the shackles either a full size Chevy half ton OBS or an S10 shackle should work in replacement for the shackles that are on it right now that are rotted
I can't believe someone would park such an awesome truck over a flat tire!😳
First thing on a points carb car to do. CLEAN THE POINTS. ALWAYS! LOL. GREAT VIDEO! Thank you for the fun! You know that BMW in the background would be a lot more popular and a lot more fun. But keep up the videos!
It's pretty amazing how similar the Dodge is the the IH of the same year. I still own my KB2, like the one you worked on, but no longer own my old 1953 Dodge-same engine as the 49 you're working on now. Both trucks should have a provision for a hand crank through the grille, just below the radiator.
Great video. Old man has skills doing the metal work on the El Camino . Enjoy your videos
Keep up with that international truck
I can imagened
Already. Sharp full restored.
Thanks guys.
I've got a 48 dodge truck myself. Have yet to wrench on it. Good to see you getting after this one. It's givin me the kick I needed to start on my project. As always great video!
Thank you for watching 💪🏼💪🏼
Thank you for your APPRECIATION to your subscribers Travis.
Always appreciate those who support us!
@@theetravisb ya
Can't wait for the return trip for that 49 Dodge! That engine WILL RUN if you take off the head and fix the valves.
Cool old truck. We had a B F Goodrich in my old town funny. Thanks from. Sc.
On the Dodge use a 12 volt battery and a resistor to send 8 volts to the coil make the spark a little hotter
Great job on the el camino an the truck , can wait ones u guys finish does projects. God bless 🙌
God bless 🙏
Love the oldies but goodies 😊
Loyal follower here. I love what you guys do! A old timer told me about a trick with these Dodge Flat Heads that have been sitting for a long time. Add some ATF down the Carb when cranking it or while it is running not much just a wee bit. I loosens the Valves up usually. I have a 53 Dodge Pilot House Era like yours except it is a 1 ton with a 237 CI engine. A little higher RPMs but you are correct yours should be the 230. 👍👍
Cool video, love those old trucks
As you were panning around, explaining that you were in the middle of nowhere, I was half expecting an AutoZone to appear in the background 😊
So close, If it would have fired up and gone through a heat cycle, I think it would've fixed the compression issue. Nice job on the El Camino too.
Thank you
Cool ol' Dodge!! 😍 👍
Awesome find men
Boy the tail fin on that El Camino is looking sweet! Keep the videos coming (I subscribed the first time I viewed).
Thanks for that support
Love the looks of the old truck.

Valiant effort Dad Son combination remains me of Indiana Jones movie

You should drive the truck into a city where fans can go and take a picture with it for only 5 bucks each!
Subscribed✋🏼. Love your videos. My greeting for your father
Good Job 👍
I love the show. Like in Savannah, Ga and have ripped through most of your videos in the last two weeks. You and Rick are great.
Thank you that’s awesome !
@@theetravisb live in Savannah. Lol
You two need to find an old wrecker, you guys could load it with everything you need to do the job, generator, fuel, first aid kit, snake bite kit, lol. You would look good in a rat rod wrecker.👍
I’d love to find an old wrecker
Nice job on the body work! You don’t owe anyone an explanation!
I would love to see your dad doin his fabrications.
I wouldn't mind living there. I liked the video.
