The Definitive edition is literally just the designers turning up the brightness and colour saturation. All the brake lights on the cars are like bold LEDs you would get on a premium Mercedes today which bear in mind this game is set in the 90's looks goofy. They have made the map feel insignificant as this video shows it looks small and the sense of depth is ruined.

I'm don't know about that. I played SA for years and never got bored with it. I also didn't do any of the things he's pointing out in the videos, other than working out in the gym. I definitely didn't listen to the ocean, I do remember the fire sounds though. Never thought about looking at the character to see if he actually gripped the handle bars. Didn't know that windows weren't effected by bullets if it wasn't the windshield. I spent most of my time aiming for tires because I liked it when the AI tried to drive on them. The point being is I haven't seen much in this series of comparisons that had a single thing to do with my enjoyment of the game way back. I do remember things that I didn't like in the original though. Like dancing, or the lowrider competition. Those were just boring to me. I have watched several hours of playthroughs of the DE and the only thing that stuck out to me is an invisible bridge out in the middle of nowhere. I remember that part of the original map though, and it's not a road that I ever used after I learned the map, so that wouldn't be a problem either. I think everyone had a different experience with the original game, and these videos just point out certain things that certain people did with the original. I may be wrong, but I haven't seen anything yet that would be a game breaker for me.

I still loved it just as much as before and except for the invisible bridge, none of the things in the video were noticeable to me to distract me in any way. Like I said. Everyone has a different experience, and expectations with things.

Of course, it comes at the cost of reputation as Rockstar rightfully takes the blame. Ironically enough, their old PC ports of the GTA Trilogy and IV were also outsourced which is why they aren't as good as their console counterparts, the PS2 and 360 respectively. It's not the first, second or third time Rockstar does this. It seems they prioritize 1 or 2 consoles and then outsource the rest. GTA V and RDR2 seem to be exceptions from what I know.

The actual playing of the game is SO boring, unresponsive and limited that I couldn’t even finish half of the main campaign. At least in the first red dead you could run at a normal speed and jump more than 3 inches total, collect items without the animation taking an entire weekend and basically fuck around without constantly fighting against your own character’s limitations

They removed higher atmosphere layers, flying high you can see end of map, in original it was endless ocean and sky, in addition to missing sounds, i noticed npcs stopped giving pos/neg comments to CJ, extinguishing fire is bugged in some missions, colour/contrast/gamma is bugged on some mission areas also. They should have fixed some bugs from original game, like OGs not shooting , non stop standing directly in front of you, CJ body/muscle textures are worse in Definitive edition, some cars that did not spawn at all in original game, still don't spawn at all, constantly auto centering camera when i don't need that (it should be less intrusive), and many more things!
The definitive edition of Grand Theft Auto trilogy it's like copy and pasting within your mobile phone with too much bugs and glitches. Rockstar needs to remaking the game a whole lot better before it'll get much worse. Great vid.

Since the definitive edition I have a far greater appreciation of the originals. A lot of detail that I never noticed before and at a time with limited tech
What I see in all 3 games - Textures made high def, some changed, same low poly models scaled and smoothing without quality control (serious rigging issues). I'm very sure the offset of characters and many items in game is directly linked to how much of a loveless rushjob this was, hitboxes and sound events not triggering properly as well.. Shame, I loved playing the og's.
You have to remember that half life was a game for PC while gta was released for consoles, and consoles had (and still have) many limitations compared to a pc

imagine paying 60 bucks for a defective OLD game
They removed higher atmosphere layers, flying high you can see end of map, in original it was endless ocean and sky, in addition to missing sounds, i noticed npcs stopped giving pos/neg comments to CJ, extinguishing fire is bugged in some missions, colour/contrast/gamma is bugged on some mission areas also. They should have fixed some bugs from original game, like OGs not shooting , non stop standing directly in front of you, CJ body/muscle textures are worse in Definitive edition, some cars that did not spawn at all in original game, still don't spawn at all, constantly auto centering camera when i don't need that (it should be less intrusive), and many more things!
I think peds mainly give negative comments, particularily regarding to CJ smelling bad when he shouldn't be; it was a bug in the mobile ports iirc.

The definitive edition of Grand Theft Auto trilogy it's like copy and pasting within your mobile phone with too much bugs and glitches. Rockstar needs to remaking the game a whole lot better before it'll get much worse. Great vid.
The only thing they upgraded was the graphics, that’s it. And trying to update the graphics they created bugs that completely broke the game.

What I see in all 3 games - Textures made high def, some changed, same low poly models scaled and smoothing without quality control (serious rigging issues). I'm very sure the offset of characters and many items in game is directly linked to how much of a loveless rushjob this was, hitboxes and sound events not triggering properly as well.. Shame, I loved playing the og's.
