The tired thing is real. How are you today. I reply I'm tired. When an intp is busy they don't have time for emotions or feelings. Even if you just say I love you and care about you they will say ok and get back to work. Intp's don't have time for silly questions when they are busy.

That happened to me when someone once told me that. I asked "Why?" because.. i mean...why did he love me?!?? I just couldn't comprehend.
Oh boi, the pikachu face he made. And then he asked me if there had to be an explanation why he loved me. If there had to be one....uhh, duuh! Yes?!!! Because if you can't explain the reason for WHY there was love, how should i see this being valid and believe then this to be true??? Hn?!?.. If you can't explain and validate it, then how should i believe and trust in it?! Please tell me?!....right,exactly one can not. Because there is no reason to.
Do i really have to explain it didn't work out with us? Yes? Really?!? - well, it didn't work out because I didn't even start something😅.

Accept that you can't change it and that is ok.
For example try to think of some really stupid stuff that happened to somebody else.
Now what do you think about that person?
Probably nothing bad. Maybe you can't even remember most situations that didn't involve yourself.
Most people will even remember less than you do.
But in the end sometimes you just fuck up and that is a good thing. Just do your best next time and move on. There is nothing to gain by living in the past, focus on what is right now and what really needs your attention.
We get taught that mistakes are bad, but that's not right. You need to make mistakes in order to grow.
The difference between a student and a master is, that the master has failed more often than the student has even tried.

@M Rod I am aware of Fi and how it impacts INTPs. I’ve been reading about it two years now and it has helped me to understand him better :) thanks a lot for the explanation it was very helpful to read.
What I meant with my comment is that my INTP friend is actually very empathetic with his actions and not necessarily with words.
Other example I have of him is one time when my INTJ brother was in severe pain and he was the only one that took the time to search for a good doctor near the city. He was also worried about him days later and kept sending messages of how he was doing.
I can sense he does it with such pure and genuine intentions. I would say that even more than me that has Fe as 1st function.

      @ST710 3 ปีที่แล้ว +39

INFP here, and indeed I would say that looks more like an XXFJ because:
      - I'd NEVER tell someone what they should or should not say unless they ask first.
      - If they believe something is a feeling, I would NEVER argue that it is not, because I'm not in their brain to evaluate it, so I don't know how that "something" feels.
      - That hippie-style way of therapy is definitely Fe, and I simply can't stand it. If I want to to know about someone's feelings, I ask about them ONCE, and then SHUT THE FUCK UP, period. If I want to hear what someone says, I just do that, listen, not judge (at least not verbosely), until there's nothing more remaining to be said, and listen, because it's a nonsense to ask something just to not allow to answer whatever thing.
      - I can speak a lot, but only if I have something to say. Above all I'm an introvert, so I need to have a clear need to be willing to small talk. It's better to hear silence than to say shit, or even worse, to hear shit in return 😑
      - Lastly, I do care about people who are not an asshole. That doesn't mean I'll be calling everyday to ask how it goes. But don't worry, if I have to, I'll be there, no matter what, no matter how.
P.S: If I try to know how someone feels, I do it by trying to understand every detail, and then summing everything up to get that person's perspective (empathy), not from a pre-defined own set of square-headed categories and stereotypes that are just cosmetically friendly (sympathy).

INTP who doubles as Captain Obvious.
INTPs follow their own logic, and basically live by the definitions they personally assign to things, so by that logic, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that this particular INTP very early on assigned physical exhaustion as an what they would believe to be an emotion, in the same way that someone who’s hungry might respond to a question regarding how they feel. Disagreements usually stem from a lack of common understanding or completely disagreeing with the foundation of their argument that would lead to the conclusion they’ve met. These two disagree on what qualifies as an emotional phenomenon, and it is at this point that I am physically and mentally exhausting from typing all of this, and this is why tired can qualify as an emotional phenomenon.

This ending literally happens to me all the time. People think it’s hilarious too to throw illogical stuff at me and then kinda make fun of it to get a rise out of me. Cause i honestly can’t help but get frustrated when there’s absolutely no logic behind an argument. It blows my mind to a point of me not even knowing what to say because it’s so stupid.

In rl I only know one INTP, and we were talking about emotions and the looking for meaning of emotions and why we need them kept running in my head for a week and I came to these conclusions:
    - emotions help us connect with others by caring for them even if we don't have a valid logical reason for that.
    - emotions are like a fuel, they give you power to do things you wouldn't do otherwise.
    - I forgot what the rest of my conclusion was sry🤣

@@Nina21_ well the problem was that they were confessions without even knowing me, so it is very important for us to make sure that the other person is making a conscious decision about us. Like reaaally knowing what they are getting into... but I think this works for everyone, not only INTPs, because we tend to idealize people and have an imaginary idea of what we want them to be.

    How am I feeling?
You ever have a knot in the muscles of your shoulder that just won't go away? You could have 10 people try to work out that kink and fail. I acknowledge my deepest innermost feelings could be likened to that knot. Too much time has passed and too much effort taken to fix it but it will never go away. That knot is my inability to truly vibe with "the now". But I made my peace with it decades ago when I was a child. So when I say what I'm feeling is "tired", that's truly the only thing left I can say that won't open a whole can of worms that neither of us want opened.

Side note- I like being punctual, and my little sister forced me to fix my sleep schedule, it’s not a good feeling, but technically what I just said isn’t a feeling, and I’d have to elaborate to no avail. Man, emotions are weird.
