    Many thanks for the vid. Took apart and now using a pencil to hit the switch. Four hours late but coffee is served. Thanks

    Ooooh snap. Thanks for the details on this one mate. I did the button swap same yourself (first time soldering on a circuit board) and the fact it turned back on afterwards puts me over the moon. Thanks again mate.

    So useful to see the technique to detach the clips and open the casing. If you shook the switch back into place you could activate the grinder until it dislodged again. After opening following your video I bedded the leg from the broken switch in a large blob of hot glue behind the retaining screw so it stays seated in the right place. My Krups grinder is back to life!

    Thank you Alexis! With your video I could open my grinder (and not lose the safety spring - haha), and I repaired the switch by reattaching it with superglue and two cuttings taken from a small cable tie, glued to the switch's neck and wedged under the securing washer and screw. Now it works better than when new. I'm delighted!

    I was sure I wasn't gonna find anyone with this exact same problem but here it is. this is really helpful. I'll probably just glue on the old crappy plastic switch though since it's an easier fix even though it might not last as long

    My switch broke off and fell inside just like you showed. Very helpful showing how to open. I couldn't understand why I couldn't just push the power switch. Found the cup switch was jammed a little. Got that clicking again and grinder started again. Now i just use the handle of the brush to push the start switch through the original switch hole. No risk of damaging anything with soldering modifications.

    Thank you Alexis, you've expanded the lifetime of my grinder! without your video i would never have taken the chance of disassembling it. The faulty on/off button was not broken but not making contact with the switch, stupid to be so cheap on such an essential part! Fixed for now and if breaking down i'll just glue some more plastic to contactor.
    So much for German quality!

    I was having a similar problem with the switch, it was operating intermittently. With the help of your video, I was able to disassemble the unit. I found that the circuit board containing the switch had slipped from the retaining clips allowing it to move away from the on/off button. I reinstalled the board into the mounts and reassembled. I never would have gotten it open without your video. THANKS

    Great stuff! Thank you!
    I fixed my button (same problem, the tiny plastic had broken) by winding steel wire tightly around it, making a small loop for the casing-screw to hold. Works like a charm now.
    Thank you so much for the disassembly video! :D

    Success - once I took mine apart it was the sensor switch that the lid activates that was clogged up and just needed a good clean - but getting the outer case off was the main help. Thanks

    Great video to show how to disassemble the grinder to get to the switch. I was able to use crazy glue to glue the plastic tab that the switch is mounted back together. Then put a small piece of fabric on each side and glued with crazy glue. Put the switch back in and perfect. The actual switch was fine. Just the button that touches it was broken. Thanks for the video.

    In hope og helping any of my fellow nordic european inhabitants, (if youtube comments show up in a google seach?)
    this machine is identical to the OBHnordic G700.
    I opted to use the superglue/baking powder trick on the broken part of the button. On top of that I layed a thick layer of hotglue all over the fragile part. So far, so good.
    P.S. Designed to fail, like this button clearly is, should be forbidden by law!

Similar problem to your switch, the circuit board has flexed so the plastic push button does not make contact with the micro switch on the circuit board. I braced the board from behind with a piece of foam so the button now makes contact. Working again.

    Before opening - check the lid lockout switch, if any coffee dust is in the lip between the inner and outer case it stops the lid from pressing all the way down and deactivating the lockout, simply use a knife upside down to clean out the coffee from the well and it should work again!

    Super helpful - thanks. Like jacobsteel - I used the video to help with taking it apart, then I improvised (i didn't have a switch to hand) first supergluing the plastic clip back together and I also added a support baton, using tin-snips to cut up a spare terry clip to get a flat plate. It works, but no idea how long it will last, still for people without soldering skills this approach may help. (i've ordered a switch though for incase it breaks)

      @hansenyeo2117 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hikmat8329 hi, what issues are you experiencing?
      for my case initially the power button snapped, so i glued it back using epoxy adhesive. But after some time the grinder motor refused to start occasionally, motor seemed fine, so i suspected the timer or the motor capacitor was weak. Bypassing the timer and replacing new capacitor made it worked again, but there is no timer function anymore, you have to manually control it by adding switch at the power socket.

    Have anyone noticed if the grinder is little warmer on one side all the time?
    I hooked up a powermeter and noticed that in stby it uses about 1w when it not is grinding, just connected.

  • @GARDENER42
    @GARDENER42 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It is possible to remove the silver/grey front without taking the two screws out (1:49), as it unclips at the top. I have just done this.
    I then removed the screw holding the remains of the button bracket, folded a piece of very strong adhesive tape over it & the "leg" on button, made a hole through for the screw & put everything back together.
    So far, this works but I will have to see how long it lasts. I think I will modify the button with a small piece of spring steel replacing the plastic leg which screws to the front panel.
    Just found the switch on eBay UK for £9.99/€11.75
    Search for Krups GVX2 switch.

    • @mikekimura2532
      @mikekimura2532 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah since I removed the front dial before taking it apart the silver/grey front panel fell off after pulling it apart. For ours the button was not broken but it was hard to press in/out and would stick on. Turned out to be a layer of grime on the button that I wiped off and now it works great but I can see how flimsy the little plastic is that hold the button which will eventually probably break. Thanks alexis c for your video which helped a lot!

    What are the specs on the toggle switch you used ? What connectors to solder onto the toggle switch ?Im set in EU 240volts - what to look out for when I buy the switch and when I try to solder it onto the grinder ?

      I was wondering the same thing - is it a high voltage or low voltage switch?

    J'ai le même problème, merci pour le clip. Un peu plus d'info sur l'interrupteur aurait aidé. Le type rocker on/on ne fonctionne pas bien avec ce circuit.
