  • Just a quick idea of what the omni QTC40 STERO OH sound like. No verb just light EQ. Kick has a SR20LS on it.
    Always super impressed with what Earthworks puts out. 3 mics to me really captures THE SOUND of the instrument. I hope everyone is doing ok during these crazy times.
    Cheers

    Carter, you have got to be one of the most efficient drummers around; Zero wasted motion and It looks like you’re literally pulling the sound out of your kit. Freddie Gruber and Joe Morello would approve. Great video!

    Four points
    1-Those mics are some of THE best o-h mics I've ever heard!..........I've never used two omnis as a pair. Thought maybe there would be phase issues?.; Obviously there aren't any ;:-)
    2- That kit is one of those NEVER sell kits!!......and the toms sound even sweeter with those Bovid heads!. the fl tom makes me weep!!
    3-The headroom on those Earthworks pres is fantastic!!. No sag or saturation.....perfectly open
    4- Do you find the 30th Anniv 22" dried up at all after the rivet install?.
    .................Beautiful playing as always!

    Love how your sticks are marked green exactly at the rimshot location of the sticks. Can’t wait to buy some when they become available. I’ve tried to search for them, even on your website and couldn’t find them. Keep up the impressive drumming. You’ve made me a huge fan of your work. Certainly became my most favorite drummer, almost overnight. Bonham is my all-time, but you are my favorite drummer alive! And you beat out Danny Carey in my book. Which I thought he couldn’t get overthrown. But you did. Your drumming is more interesting to me. That says a lot!

    Why nobody use Paiste Cymbals for jazz ??

    • @jamesyistheman
      @jamesyistheman 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Some people definitely do, it all depends on the sound you want. I feel like drier sounding cymbals work a bit better for jazz, hence why people probably lean more towards other manufacturers as they have great ranges for it.

    • @rhythmista7707
      @rhythmista7707 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jamesyistheman Paiste has 3 series for jazz. Signature Traditional, Signature Dark Energy, and Masters. Although they don't have a wide variety sizes, but definitely enough to cover your jazz needs. They even have the Big Beat and Giant Beat series that definitely have that smokey, warm and dark vintage jazz vibe, and are multi purpose cymbals, which can be used in most genres..
