    I love the slow motion close up showing the push off the front wheel - in other instruction videos it's hard to see/visualize, but seeing it in slow motion really helps :)

      I’m always nagging the poor camera that I need more slow mo. Lol. It does seem to really show the weight transfer.

    Learning the T-stop at stand still is important and yes rather a skill to learn and strength, balance etc because you need that for your figures which I do hope you do a video on that one day, Love you videos !

    Hi Kate-I started back skating 1 week before Christmas after being MIA from the skate game 35 years. Gosh!!! anyway, its coming back to me; and the most challenging for me was getting my confidence back and not being afraid to fall...I mean it's bound to happen at some point and time. The 1st fall was pretty brutal, but I got back up and purchased gear (should have made that purchase prior to putting on skates...smh) and been at it ever since. Thanks for the videos for they are really helpful. Skating really calms me and I enjoy doing it. I'm excited to learn more so keep the videos coming. Blessings

    Thank you Katie! I can see exactly how to perform these maneuvers because your explanations are very straight and clear. I just have to get a little more confident in my abilities. I just got a pair of bubble shorts which will save my tailbone if that should ever happen. I have never worn so much gear before. Protection at all costs.

    I just started roller skating (I did it sometimes as I was a kid but stopped in middle school) and the problem I’ve been having with this is that I’m very comfortable ice skating, so I keep trying to do this as if I’m on ice skates

      One major difference on roller skates is you want the weight near the ball of the foot all the time. I find when I ice skate I put the back half of the blade in first more like walking don’t do that on rollers. 🤕.

    Thank you for these videos! Is there a video explaining foot balance? I feel as though my weight is in my heels. I’ve been practicing a bend in the knee and more forward leaning, but to get more upright causes a weight transfer. Any tips?

    Is it just my rollerskates cause like mine are heavy so it’s hard to keep my leg up especially since my legs are weak

      Skates are pretty heavy. You’re muscles will build up over time. ⭐️🛼

    What type of skate should be purchased for a beginner? Skater blades look more sleek. Can we purchase a skater blade. I hear blades are better than the roller skates. Please advise

      I personally prefer quads but if you’re looking to trail skate distances I’d recommend inlines.

    Is this "T-Stop" also considered an Angular take off? (( the the other would be the "And" take of or stroke?)) Not sure if I am saying that right?

      The T-push is a great way of gaining speed and it can be considered a stroke take off.

    Hello, I'm an overthinker struggling with getting the technique of going forward. I understand that the feet need to be more slew-foot/turned out/V shaped, but I've watched too many videos & everyone has a different method & I'm getting info overload. Some recommend staggering feet, then pushing off with back foot at an angle. Either way, it all feels unnatural to me. I understand shifting weight movements, but I'm still confused about the feet. I've been told to not push off with my heel, but to instead push off from the inner side of skate, or do kind of a flick motion, but I've also been told to push off at the toe, which sometimes interferes with my toe stop. Is it more like pushing off at the ball of the foot instead? This is all doing my head in😭

      For this technique the last wheel to leave the floor should be the forward inner so all the weight needs to be over that wheel for pushing off. The skating foot needs the weight towards the ball of the foot. You never want the weight towards the heel of the skating foot as that makes backwards falls more likely and they are horrid.

      @@Skatie **overthinking continuation** so basically regardless of foot position (be it V-shaped or staggered with skatefoot facing outward), the pressure & weight should be on the inner forward wheel with flicking/light slide outward motion? (If that makes sense)

      @@BoxOfShockolates yes. the rolling foot should be on the ball of the foot and the foot that’s pushing needs to be pushing from the inner front wheel.

      I absolutely understand. Take it at your own pace. Perhaps try some static balance drills to help your confidence. I have a balancing video which may help. You’ve got this 💕🛼😀
