It's awesome what you guys do everyday keep it up I've always backed British farmers even tho I'm not a farmer myself always been interested in the work you all do, great job #nofarmersnofood
Hi Will good video nice to see your good lady helping you out 😊😊😊
Thankyou Paul!😁
We’re the dream team ❤
Great video Will 👍 so many differences from the way we did it 🤔 we washed every cow with warm water and wiped with cloths, then stripped every teat before milking to check for mastitis, then after milking they were teat dipped, nice of your girlfriend to help out by the way she deals with the clusters she's helped out a few times before 🙄💪💪 how do you detect mastitis without stripping🤔
Thankyou Bob! We use to have a hot water wash for washing their udders in our old parlour set up although we rarely used it apart from washing clusters with. We have mastitis detectors that are in the pipe line just past the cluster, the idea behind it is that the filter collects any curds or mastitis so we can easily identify which cows are causing issues quickly.
I’ve learnt a lot about cows, I live next door to a farm but obviously don’t get to see everything that goes on.
Have you tried using the short milking sleeves? They keep your overalls a lot cleaner.
No I haven’t John are they good?
Predipping is the best change I made in a long time
What were the benefits?
I’ve debated it before but it’s another job aint it, our bactoscsns and cell counts aren’t too much to worry about atm
