Now I need to find an earlier generation and see if the exploit is present (or worse)

Thanks Thumper 😊 These cuffs are pretty secure at first glance. But when you dive in, there are some major oversights that could be easily addressed. And this is the latest (2021) variety.
I'm trying to find an older generation model, just to compare.

I was so glued to your video I didn't notice time passing. Still under 5 minutes, still a quick video.
It's crazy that if they know the exploit, on three attempts they didn't fix it.
I know it's a bloody daft situation. I know on the no 9 it's a proof of concept, but it's still there. I need to refine it I reckon, maybe use an elastic band 🤔

I think handcuff manufacturing Companies take all minor exploits very seriously and swiftly roll out changes. Look at the French rivilior cuff modele 2003/2004, they recalled and attempted to destroy them all so the secret wouldn't get out. Its one of the few lock makers that do take stuff like this seriously.
Smith and wesson added rivets after prisoners used the seatbelt clip to pry open cuffs.
It's a very rapid changing scenario based on reputation.

Nicely done. Bit of an oversight there. Supprised at the lack of anti shim in there. I was expecting split pawl up top too. (Still want a set🤣)
I think they thought the double lock was bullet proof. Not even a ridge or groove in the pawls. Major design oversight really. I still want the 209 (rigid) but I may have to patient 😕
