Very impressive job on this Van, I watched your videos in reverse. Both where done very nicely. As I said in the other video, there is room where the old gas tank was for moor batteries if you ever decide on a longer range. Great job on the interior.
Only about 30kg of raw materials will be lost over the lifecycle of a lithium battery used in electric cars once recycling is taken into account, compared to 17,000 liters of oil. Nice job again, you just answered one of my earlier questions in your latest video, Netgain.
Desde Lima Peru en estos tiempos que hay bastantes aniegos veo que el motor esta libre por la parte de abajo si le salpica el agua o el hielo no le pasa nada?
Hello Patrick, Nice Job! I like the Teakwood very much. I see you bolted the Hyper9 to the gearbox without any suspension on the rear. These motors are quite heavy and tend to twist. So you have no concerns about stability? Best regards, Heiko.
I think you did an incredible job with the conversion and your information was very education and understandable, but I think if you're going to do TH-cam longterm it would be a good idea to invest in a better editing software and a microphone above all else, Im assuming it's a rendering issue as to why the video quality is so low in 2021 so you should be good with that camera, having clear audio is super important, poor audio makes things near unwatchable
I see all these EV VW bus conversions and the big question always is "where do I put the batteries?" Why doesn't anyone just use all the empty space in the engine bay that the tiny little EV motor just gave us? New to cars and mechanics and just curious.
Hey Ian - two reasons. One is that you'd have to weld in new "shelves" in order to secure hold the batteries in place. The other is that all the weight (which would be more than the original engine), would be way in the back of the vehicle, upsetting suspension and handling.
it's much more effective if you put the batteries under the car, so that the weight distribution is even. It can help lessen the stress from the motor which results in increase range and efficiency to the car.
great job, thanks for sharing!! I really would love to do this.
Thanks for the video. I've just started my 75 restoration/EV conversion. Due to my schedule, I'm looking a 3 years to completion.
Inspirational my friend.
You should try airless wheels or plastic wheels.
Very nice conversion! I would be interested to see the battery setup / boxes under the wooden floor. You did inspire me!

Such a beautiful T2 conversion :)
I’d love to do this to my T25 one day here in the UK :)
Nice conversion. Small kitchen next?

Nice Job.
I am working on my 73 type 2 bus, and trying to decide on motor choice.
What is your range withe Hyper9 & 7 model S pack?
A real world range of 100 miles - meaning a combo of surface streets and freeway.

Simply impressive. How much did it cost you to do this conversion?
Any estimate on the € for parts?
I personally don't like the Hyper Nine. It's too big. I would get something smaller.

The bus is rock solid with the bulk of the weight low down and in the middle.
