You used the exact measurements for the waist band and you still added elastic waist band, would the waist band not be too tight because of the elastic?

Thank you ma for the tutorial,I noticed that you did not the side edges at the hem.like removing 1inch making the hem curvy

You only deduct one inch at the side of the hem if the tip is very sharp........ the wideness of the fold i used is 10inches, so i didnt bother deducting, since the edges of the hem wastnt too sharp...... the once inch doesn’t really have effect on the size of the fold i worked with

Just made this skirt using ur tutorial and it came out beautifully, thank you Nancy. My only issue is that my zipper has a lil bulge, pls how can I correct it?

Detach the zipper.
Then when sewing the zipper to the zipper allowance, don't try to curve the zipper.
Just saw it straight....
It bulge because you were trying to attach the zipper to be in a curved form like the butt spacing

I used 2 and half yard..... it depends on the blouse you want to make......
if its a straight blouse you can use 3yards for the skirt
But if its a peplum blouse, use 2yards and 22 inches

I mean if we are to cut together tail on mermaid skirt, we add at zip and down before it will balance. I cut memarid skirt and add tail at zip and I didn't add at down and it's not balance. Like your six prices nw you add at back and you didn't add at down

For a mermaid skirt, when cutting the tail together with the back piece, the tail shouldnt be to wide(much), so your’s isnt balance because you must have made the tail wide......
But if you want to cut the mermaid skirt with the tail included perfectly, then you have to do the splash and spread method of cutting.

I used the burst span measurement to get a accurate line placement.
The joining as replaced the dart already. So there is no need for an extra dart
