    I'm not sure how to put this in a nice way, but I see you're using the 'youtube facial expression thumbnail' a lot, I don't think that it's working for your target audience. Looks a bit silly :)

    Mario, thanks so much for all your videos, they`re life saving ;-).
    I`m moving to CPH in 2 months and am in search of apartments now. Would you say it`s better to first find some furnished short term accommodation and find a long(er) term home while being there? I`ll arrive not sooner then some 10, 14 days prior to my first working day. Also, my work is in the center (Amerika Pl.) so I wonder if there`s any area you would specifically recommend (or the opposite). I have a dog and wouldn`t like to live too far, leaving him home alone for a very long time.
    Grateful in advance for any useful feedback!

      Lots of expats live in Amerika Plads, so you could even consider living there as well. I had a furnished rental for a while before buying, that's good - but also, in the end, IKEA is cheap so don't pay too much for that option.

    Hey Mario, thanks for the video! You mentioned, that cpr number is required for the contract. This is the first time I'm hearing it and I got a little scared. I'm moving to DK as a freelancer ( as an EU citizen), and I'm probably not going to have a local project for a while. Does it mean I can not rent an apartment?

    Mario, great content! Why are move-in deposits so expensive now? I am looking at a 3-room furnished apartment, and the move-in price is 95150 DKK. I noticed on your video that the property you were looking at in 2023 was ~30.000 DKK. That's 3x.

    Hey mario thanks for the videos. Is it a viable strategy to obtain a rental contract at a market rate and then try to get the rent suppressed by rent control? Do you know of anyone who did this successfully? Can the landlord kick you out after you’ve done this…? I’m in a short term let at the moment and want to find a more permanent place!

    • @MarioScianHQ

    We're moving from Japan to Denmark. We own in Japan but have to rent in Denmark. We don't have much time to do research as the company accommodation is very short term. There's a lot that we don't know. We actually don't know what we don't know. Would it be unusual to visit a lawyer or real estate professional to ask if our rental contract is fair? We'll be in a smaller area so we'd have time to do this without the property being taken, but I don't know if this follows proper etiquette. Thanks!

    • @MarioScianHQ
      @MarioScianHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can always check in with a lawyer if it helps you. But if the property is built after 1993 there is no rent control i.e., no "unfair rent". What I noticed is that for many people the first rental is not great but after a few months they can find a better deal.

      @@MarioScianHQ Thank you so much for the response! Unfortunately for us, the company that hired my husband isn't paying for our move so everything is out of pocket. So whatever property we pick, we're stuck there until we build our safety net back up. The property is definitely older than 1993, likely 1940s or earlier. We're mostly worried about the landlords ability to increase our rent and put us in a bad place financially. Anyway, I really appreciate your response. We really just don't even know what questions to ask but trying to learn everything we can in the next few days.

      Toilet paper and cleaning products will never be included. Utilities can at times be included (but usually there will be an annual adjustment, so just because it is included don't let your tap run 24/7 and think you're covered, you WILL be slapped with a massive water bill for the excess use), same goes for electricity, and heating, if you use less, you get a refund of course, someplaces will have one utility included but not the others, so you can get all possible mixes from all to none included. But you can ask how much to expect for non-included utilities.
