I think you should use lagging span for the better confirmation, for this strategy.
Which chart do you use?
If you only made 1% you're a bad trader and shouldn't be trading. You can also customize the style of the clouds to make it readable and more cohesive. The Ichimoku cloud isn't for scalping trades, it's for position trading. The lagging span is so you can get into a long or short early even if the clouds aren't in your favor. The cloud's purpose is too allow you to stay In a trend a lot longer by confirming your bias as you long and short. You were trading choppy periods which is not recommended with the Ichimoku cloud which is probably why you lost so many trades.

interesting video, but it's clear you haven't read his book. it was never created as an indicator, but a "system" to always be in the market (hence the term stop and reverse). I agree with you that it should be used alongside a backtested breakout system that demonstrates an edge in the market(s) one trades, but you use the word 'indicator' many times and Parabolic SAR was never created as one. Anyone who's read Wilder's work will marvel at, and respect, the work of someone who use pen and graph paper to plot and discover concepts that are at the root of nearly all technical and volatility models in use today. That being said, I agree that most traders (myself included) can't handle the swings that are inherent with the system. In my worthless opinion it was his least amazing feat.
Wilder had nothing more than an HP hand calculator used by architects back in the day. Genius.
Honestly this was just a bad video. The lagging span DOES help to confirm the trend. It's not useless. I'm not surprised you got such a bad win rate when the only thing you used was the cloud.
Yeah but if he used the lagging span and the other two, instead of taking 100 trades he would take like 10 lol
But Parabolic sar acts pretty much like the future cloud to determine to take entry or not
Trading Ichimaku in 15 min chart and wonder why it did not work? better start again learning that indicator. this is not an indicator for low timeframes...

the ichimoku on its own is a mater class trading system using it this way you'll loose money

Thanks for the video...Question: what time frame are you looking at here? I normally trade on the 30m and 1 hour for swing trades but often look at the daily for trend...which time frame do you use and why? Thanks! I will copy this and add to Ichimoto as well. Thanks!

what is short and long position?
while you were backtesting, how many pips was your aim for each trade? because I'm thinking it might work for 20-30 pips trades
This exit strategy was based on the indicator itself, but in my next video, my exit strategy would be based on pips
I use this strategy along with RSI to scalp. If i see cloud break, T/K cross lining up with a @50 RSI I scalp 75% of my shares and let 25% go with a stop loss break even on the 25%. Out when T/K cross again.
