I still don’t understand why people call it worst movie. In my opinion either they don’t have the intellect to understand the cryptic narrative of script with symbolism or they did get it and are falling for propaganda spread by some biased group. The script is one version of Ramayana where Rama is the villain and brothers do turn against the family because that’s what vibhishina did to Ravana and Shurpanaka. Writing this to align with today’s culture and from Tamil’s perspective is not easy guys.
I'm tamil, but I love the movie. I don't understand why people hate this movie. It is most interesting movie. If you really like cinema, you will love the movie. If you only want heroic movie with same story, then it is their loss. 😂
The hospital scene was very provocative to me. As the victim rightly said, either agree to sell or deny to sell. But how Dhanush threatened him was totally immoral and wrong. We have too many people in the society who get away with this same kind of behavior. Many hundreds to thousands are victims of those perpetrators. And the rest of society fears them and this power gives them to climb highest positions like an MLA or MP. We as a society are a victim of this exact same behavior that is destroying the lives of many and taking away the voices of more. Nothing to celebrate. Tomorrow we are going to celebrate the rapists and call it art and hero elevation? Distasteful.
In Raayan he never portrayed Prabhu Shri Ram as a villain. He just added some visual metaphor of a Ravan to his character. That too didn't add anything narrative wise or to character depth. So it's useless in my opinion. Also Dhanush is a devout Hindu. So he'll never do it. Only a few brain-dead creatures in K'wood will do such things.

The plot that siblings turn against each other the way they showed here was the most un-convincing story telling I have ever seen. It was just ridiculous... Great music, great action but what were the writers smoking they couldn't find good reasons for rivalry between siblings
