10:00 - I understand Coppola’s and Puzo’s point of view: Amerigo Bonazera was a man who wanted to shed his Italian identity and assimilate into the American Identity. It clearly mentions in the book that Don and his gang and every true Italian take pride in their Italian identity. And Amerigo never wanted to associate with The Don and the gang because they are gangsters and also was worried that they might ask a favor in return if he was in touch with them or asked for a favor from them.
So he distanced himself from The Don. These are a few lines from the novel which goes like this:
"The first time the Don behaved coolly. He did not embrace the visitor or shake hands. The sallow-faced undertaker owed his invitation to the fact that his wife and the wife of the Don were the closest of friends. Amerigo Bonsaera himself was in severe disfavor with Don Corleone.
[another line here]:
“The undertaker [Amerigo] never called Don Corleone 'Godfather’ as custom dictated.”
Also, when he explains his situation, Don asks him, " Why didn't you come to me at the beginning of this affair?" Amerigo also replies to this in a way that offends the don.
Amerigo only considered The Don as a Goonda. He even said, "I will pay you anything you ask." So, this is the whole context of Don's cold response to this man. But Don decided even before this man entered into his private cabin that he would help him. Italians don't show emotions just like us Indians. That's the change in sensibility.
Both Maniratnam and Ramu, when adapting the story into the Indian realm, made the dons very sensitive guys: Mani's Don (Kamal in Nayagan) cries, "waaa waaa waa" and Ramu's don doesn't cry but gets angry and emotional, which was decent when compared to the first approach (the mani approach)!
The hosts voice is vary low

Tessio said so because he feels guilty about what he did after being very loyal and faithful to Don Vito Corleone and The family for a very long time. He, in some layers of his mind, couldn’t fathom the thought that the family he worked for at one point in time is now watching him as a traitor which he is. They were all bloody close, once. Now that orders were given to take him down, he was just trying to tell his ex-friends that he was not that bad!! Maybe, that’s his last attempt to induce a feeling of sympathy in his friends who might stop the execution for the sake of the old times. But, still, Tessio being in the business for so long knows that once an order is given, it can’t be canceled because a traitor will never be forgiven in the mafia.
We would want to have similar discussions on The Dark Knight . RGV never spoke

RGV from 1989-2003 was a different film maker. 2004 was the start of his bad days.
I wonder why the interviewer did not asked about the most chilling scene when sarkar's men go to beat the rich brats in the mall. Ramu's every movie scene is a short film in itself.
19:17- Paulie Gatto’s cold was not real! Cold was Paulie’s excuse not to be with the Don and gang on the day of his shoot-out. Paulie dramatically taking out the handkerchief in front of the gang and wiping his nose was his way of subtly convincing the gang members that he had a cold that day so that nobody would doubt when he took leave the next day (the day of Don’s shoot out)!! Otherwise, if he had taken leave without any reason on the day of Don’s shootout, gang members easily would have assumed that he was the traitor.

My own opinion means on Godfather is own self respect not others .. every body have a Godfather inside (insider) their mind to motivate towards others .. I having ready a film subject on God father different way through my perspective style Director A D
@rgv with Shiva in 1989 you struck like a lightning, in 90's you roared like a thunder, in 2000s you were a bold voice, in 2010s you turned into an echo which is getting fainter by the day and in 2020s you are rumbling noise. I don't think anyone is looking forward to see in 2030s. Frankly, I wish you cease to exist rather than decline.

Why are you guys asking him about Godfather? Did he direct or Are you guys gone mad?
1. Learn English before you speak English. 2. He didn't direct The Godfather but he has been an avid fan of both the book as well as the film so much so that he himself made an adaptation of it. I don't see any harm in someone wanting to know how he interprets his favourite film and then uploads it to his TH-cam channel. I don't understand what's there in it that offended/triggered you. Really, people on the internet get offended over anything. Get a life!
