I am right there with you, Catherine. It’s me against the weeds. And here we have two types of weeds that have the worst thorns ever. I have to wear multiple types of gloves to be able to pull them. And I swear they grow back in a day!
@Stacy Hoch Be careful HOW you weed. Some weeds have seeds hanging under the leaves (!!) and when you pull them up those seeds are broadcasted and ready to replicate!
Hello from Northern Germany... Oh Catherine, it is so heart touching that you take care oft your plants, flowers and the little creatures (birds, bugs or worms) 🌱🌺🦋🐞 Your beds turned out very nice 😍 you were really very busy again
Oh Catherine you are sooo funny, I remember a great tip a gardener gave years and years ago but never put it into practice till this year, when you are walking around your garden bring a bucket and a pair of secateurs, dead head and weed as you go it only takes about 10 mins. So no big clean up every month. Then you have all day to enjoy 😊🤗
Not only are you happy, but look at the happy garden. You've mentioned getting a greenhouse, that means more plants. Perhaps you would find it beneficial to start a mulch area...you will find it is like black gold for your garden.....it will take all the garden debris you tossed and break it down to fertilize and enhance your gardens. The Eveready Bunny doesn't have the ambition you have. Great job. I hope the mint is not in the ground....very invasive...uff da....speaking from a lesson learned. Your gardens are lovely.
I totally agree, no matter how hard I try I must have sorted, reorganisation and moved around my 3 small storage cupboards at least every other month for the past year and each time has have stuff🤔 to de clutter.... looks so different in one day , girl you got staying power. Stay safe stay well xx huge hugs to you both 🤗
We are American-Irish I'm Rich my wife is Fran we love💕 you so much. I'd like to tell you a garden hack ,when you take a plant out of a pot, take your fingers through the roots gently open them up then place the plant in the ground or other pot. This technique helps the plant grow.🍍🍉☕
It is always such a pleasure to watch your videos! You are just a sweetheart and a doll and it brings joy to me every time I watch anything of yours ☺️❣️❣️ But a few things to let you know one is to not get rid of your lavender but go ahead and cut it back all the way down put some of the manure around it and see if it comes back next year, give it one year 👍 secondly is to add some of your manure to the hydrangeas in the pots and that will give them some good nutrition to help them have what they need to put on blooms and give you the show you want from the flowers 😉❣️❣️ Just a little bit of my many years of knowledge to pass on to you 🤭❣️🥰❣️❣️❣️
Almost spit my coffee out when you said, "Jesus himself has come into the shed". LOL. You totally motivated me to get up early tomorrow to weed, it's much to hot to do it most of the day here.
You did a beautiful job ……I wish I was more talented like you with the gardening and your beautiful home… keep up the good work..looking forward to more inspiring videos. Now please go rest your back… that was a lot of WORK. Bless you. 🌸💞🌺

Wow young lady, you are a hoot. I laughed so much, (which is what I needed today), especially talking about you bag of poop. Your garden is beautiful. I have so much work to do in my own flower garden but in my area of Virginia, south of Richmond , the temps are unbearable this time of year. Hot weather at my age is not healthy. I always enjoy your videos and can’t wait for the next one. Thanks for a good time today. Ann from Va. USA 🇺🇸
Cup if tea 🍵 and Catherine to relax 😊🤗. So true... Love watching decluttering 😂.. Hate getting started.. But once I have, I don't want to stop😂. Your garden looks lovely 🤗. I just did 4hrs gardening today in 30c and humid😭... Cut my trees and hedges.. Filled 2 organic bins.. Had to stop.. No room for more in the bins. I will finish the rest when the bins have been emptied. My reward was a cold shower and iced coffee 😊. My fennel grows 3 m high... And comes back bigger and stronger every year.. The birds love the seeds in Autumn🐦🤗. We like using the leaves with herbs in cooking. But it is strong, so you don't need much.
@@DaintyDiaries I always have to fit gardening around kids, work and rain.. This year we seem to have torrential rain in Germany or really hot😭.. After yesterday, I am considering doing gardening at night if this heat carries on😁.. It never gets really dark at night in the summer.. So as long as I don't make a noise eg cut the grass.. Looks like Blondie was enjoying the garden work with you. Your supervisor no doubt. Haha Hope you had a lovely and comfy evening after all of your hardwork that you will able to enjoy everyday. Your garden & yard look beautiful. I don't know how you remember all the flower names. I would consider you more than an amateur gardner. No matter what you tackle, it all turns out beautifully (maybe not the rice & chocolate treats- but you moved on & learned from the experience. LOL) Keep being your true genuine self. I so enjoy all of your videos & vlogs. I have watched all of them several times. Love from Texas, USA.😘💜🐈🌹
I use Cow and Horse manure. My plants love it. I also buy several bags of Bat guano (poop) each season. Chickens manure is great for those plants that need nitrogen. 5 inches out, rake, and then layer. Cover with dry leaves or straw. It is amazing.
The manure you buy is aged and generally has little to no smell and is VERY good for your garden. This year I bought TWENTY 40 pound bags of it. Last year the same. I about died laughing when "Jesus himself has come into the shed".
My dad used manure in our flower beds when I was a child. Long ago. Smelled horrible. 😆😆😆 Hope yours didn’t smell. We have a weed preventer here in the States called Preen. Maybe you have it there too. Works great. Used it for years in all my flower beds. Did a great job. No weeding all summer. Wouldn’t garden without it. You’re a hard worker!!!

My stars Dainty! You certainly put your back into whatever task you take on. But now your garden is looking beautiful and a great reward for all your hard work 💪. I hope you had a good long soak in a hot bath 🛀 and an early night 🌙. You certainly deserved it! 💚💚💚💚💚
Too bad you're so far from me in Michigan! I have a bunch of perennial flowers to dig out in spring. I divide roots every couple years when they first appear. The gardening and quiet tour were fun, you better be proud of what you've accomplished at such a young age. Having a few power tools make many jobs possible, glad you have them! Keep making vlogs, I love watching !!!!
Even though you did all that work 10 months ago, I bet it still look's lovely. Hope the Hydrangea did well. I'm so glad you fixed up your tree up too. It was nice to see how to trim it. Now I'll know a bit more when I trim my tree's too. Lot's of hot, hard work but well done.
Oh my goodness! I have just discovered your channel Catherine and.............I just love it (you). You have such a fresh, honest, bubbly and funny outlook and I think that is lovely, especially when tackling weeds! I have seen future videos and you have done an amazing job on your garden. Your greenhouse is bea-u-tiful! Keep up the videos, lots of us are enjoying them 🌷🌷🌹🌹
Your flowerbeds look so fresh and vibrant. Flowers and such are beautiful, but does take some work to maintain. Fruits of your labour is evident. " I aint no Garden Answer" , that is a great garden chanel, is Laura just such a workhorse. I love that yoy watch her videos too. Your home is gorgeous.
I really like your garden. Bill Bryson said in one of his books that England basically just wants to be a garden. That's so descriptive and probably twice as true for Ireland where you get even more rain. Why don't you make your own organic compost from veggie peels and grass clippings? We've been making our own compost for years. It reduces the amount of stuff that goes into landfill and saves you buying compost. We even put it on our lawn because we have to feed our lawn here in South Africa.
@@DaintyDiaries I’m just watching all your videos now. Thanks so much for sharing! We started gardening in 2021 and it’s so heartening to see a fellow new(ish) gardener create such a lovely space!
Thank you for your time catherine I just love watching other people work as I'm always busy so I find it very relaxing when I see the result I love your channel ..x
Hello Catherine, how are you and Blondie? Well I hope. Catching up here I missed this one. A Tip :- There's a technique to improve soil every now and again. It's called "Spit digging " back breaking but great for improving soil.f you Google it that would easier to follow than me trying to explain. My late father did it regularly in his veg patch BUT if you want to improve your soil in general around the garden it is worth it. It helps get air into the soil which of course improves plants. Your Foxgloves are coming to an end of the season, hence the yellow leaves. The "season " seems to be early this year.Mine went very leggy and tall to this year, it's like they're clamouring for the light. I've harvested my seeds already, make sure they're very dry before you store them, they are sneaky and hide damp bits. Don't let your nature bit in your front lawn get too established because you'll end up with a lawn of weeds. Watch out for Wild Geraniums or Cranes bill they can spread like wild fire. How do I know, happened to me. You work so hard indoors and out. I'm hoping these tips will help to save you time or at least nudge you in the right direction because Dainty does planning and likes to make sure it's right. I think you are doing brilliantly. Your a lovely inspirational young lady. Many thanks for your wonderful content, always a welcome sight to watch. Take care, keep safe. Lesley-Ann xX
Every spring I put sheep manure mixed with soil. You can buy in bag . I put all around flowers and also I put shake in feed ( by miracle grow)flower fertilizer around plants every spring. I have beautiful beds .Whenever I plant a new flower I sprinkle the shake and feed around it and water.
I love looking at your garden. I used to grow all those "old fashioned" flowers like sweetpea and snap dragons, but I live in Australia and because of climate change you never see them any more. Everything is drought tolerant plants. But this year is raining a lot because of La Nina (it's a weather pattern) and I want to plant them! They look so happy! A lot of people put manure on their gardens here. Another way is to make a manure "tea". Sounds gross but you add the manure to a lot of water and when it's dissolved water on the fertilizer. It's good for doing large areas. Enjoy your garden. Your deserve it. 💖
I had a good laugh about Jesus joining you in the potting shed lol! Needed that though as we lost our little 15 year old cat who passed on to cat's heaven a week ago. Your garden is looking lovely, it looks lush and green. In my neck of the woods everything browns off late summer and we're flat out watering🐈🌺 🇳🇿.

I wish I had your energy. You are amazing. 👍🏻👨🏻🦳👩🏻🦳🇺🇸❤️🇨🇱🤠🙏🏻
Even though you did all that work 10 months ago, I bet it still look's lovely. Hope the Hydrangea did well.

Your garden is beautiful Catherine, you've done a fabulous job and you do deserve your cheeky bottle of Guinness 👍😉😘😘
Thank you so much Donna, a large bottle was had! 😊
Your both gardens look sooo fine and colorful. I Love them😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
I Love your Videos 😍
Thanks so much sweetie 💖
It was so satisfying to see you tackle that flower bed - makes me long for spring again!!!
Aw me too! Love a good tidy x

Hello Catherine, how are you and Blondie? Well I hope. Catching up here I missed this one.
A Tip :- There's a technique to improve soil every now and again. It's called "Spit digging "
back breaking but great for improving soil.f you Google it that would easier to follow than me trying to explain.
Like your mug. Like to get something like it. I love having tea.
Ps: I love your little wildflower patch in your lawn 💖💖💖
I just wish I had your energy lol, your home and garden are amazing. Such an inspiration to all who watch xx
Dear heavens your videos always make me smile! Your authenticity is a beautiful thing! Thank you for being you!!!!
Aww, thank you Kelly x
I had a good laugh about Jesus joining you in the potting shed lol! Needed that though as we lost our little 15 year old cat who passed on to cat's heaven a week ago. Your garden is looking lovely, it looks lush and green. In my neck of the woods everything browns off late summer and we're flat out watering🐈🌺 🇳🇿.
Oh I'm so sorry for your loss 💖 thats awful tough! I'm glad you stopped by, hope you have a wonderful weekend xx
You are so Irish....I love watching and listening to you. You love your home and garden and you work so hard. I live in the US and so enjoy this peek into your life. Thank you
