I’m 50 and I’m a sole care provider for an aging parent who needs round the clock care so dating isn’t really an option right now. I just don’t have the emotional bandwidth. But shows like this remind me that there’s another side to me too even if it’s on pause right now
you would really be a movie/show’s perfect marketing partner. i watch all of these shows just so i can watch your videos and fully appreciate all the jokes you’ll make. you are really talented! keep it up!
Lori's walls are high. Her kids had some hard things to say about her. It's sad. Martin seems like a hidden jewel. I hope he finds someone loving and grounded! Pam seems to be living her best life! Nate is as closed off as Lori. Greg saying he wished he could go back in time and not lose his first marriage was sad. The dating coach was so interesting in that she could spot the problem patterns and give ideas on how to improve. LOVE your comment at the end that no one is less than because their marriage(s) didn't work out.
I've been watching and I'm really here for it! Older people don't do gimmicks and fake personalities, and it makes the show so refreshing! More of this please🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
@@alexiswhitehead885 the way she was stuck on that man's tee shirt peaking from the top of his dress shirt was crazy. But the green goblin had on a t-shirt
Just finished episode 8 and your review! You raised excellent and funny points! As a baby boomer I appreciated how the show portrayed that age doesn't matter when it comes to dating. We face the same issues and challenges that the youngins do. I loved Pam because I could see her hidden pain and fear. Im glad she found a new friend and a new gig. Something about Willie rubbed me the wrong way. I hope he doesn't hurt Anise. Suzanne is a hot mess lol! Lori is hiding behind her show business persona. The coach called it with the glasses. They are like a shield. And the fact that Lori refused to take them off for even a moment showed that she is unwilling to change. But her knowing both dates was unreal! I identified with Nate the most. An injury led to living with chronic pain AND I have OCPD (a form of OCD). I also take too long to make decisions and that sometimes lead to me losing out on a good thing. Great show. A refreshing change to the toxic relationship shows like LIB, MAFS, and Ultimatum.
Ok, then none of your family is allowed to pop by? The problem is you calling her “baby momma” when that’s not what anyone in that family says. They literally said they are like siblings and with those jokes we all saw it over here. Healthy people don’t try to put labels on other people, and they’re not attracted to people who do.
That co parenting best friend duo is truly inspiring. Love to see people thriving outside of societal norms! Tait, as always, a new review from you makes my day a little better!
As a single female Boomer, I could relate to the Later Daters content. I’ve often wondered when and if dating shows would be created for us Boomers. I’m looking forward to more seasons❤ Boomers.
This show was so great and real. I wish more people were talking about it. I was so happy they had a dating coach and were home with their families and not in some artificial enviorment. The grandma who made a good friend at the end was my favorite. She was just so lit up at the end, compared to how guarded and isolated she was at the beginning. Also all the old people and phones moments were super cute.
I'm 72 yrs. old ,I watched the show and live in Atlanta. I understand each one's dilemma about dating very well. Nate and his ex seem to be very compatible. I hope Anise relationship works out. Good recap/review. And the traffic in Atlanta is real.
We often see older people as irrelevant or valueless, if we see them at all, so that was a really thoughtful take on the fact that who you are at your core (your humanity / soul / beingness / desire for connection ) doesn't change with aging. Much appreciated wisdom @Tait
I am gonna watch and then come back to hear your take. You should know that Baby Boomers stops at 1963, which makes the person that age 61. From 1966 until 1980 we are Gen x. Not that being a boomer is the end of the world, but I feel strongly that a 55 year old is pretty deep in the Gen X world. I look forward to your recap soon.💙
The 1st episode of course hooked me into the show and I was so shocked what came out of George mouth when talking to Anise I was like omg they don't mature with age 😳
I think Nate and his ex would make the perfect couple they have a solid friendship and child together what else do they want the sex fades but love and companionship doesn't
I just happen to watch the show the day before and enjoyed it. I’m a boomer, single ten years and related to the people in the show. Your review was spot on.
For Lori to be pining after her friend, Felton, for so long was crazy. GIRL! The dude shows no interest! He’s never even asked you out! How is she 57 years old and can’t take a hint??
My mom and I enjoyed watching this show. It was refreshing to watch a dating show without all of the drama involved and also shed light on a different age demographic.
Give me 15 minutes on your show.I had a good 2 hour date with Anice and we both left on cordial terms..she even hugged me before she got into her “uber”.I said everything in the show and she understood the contextual message which is why she stayed for the entire 2 hours

The explanation of how he died doesn’t make sense. It is almost impossible to burn anything down with a cigarette. Not saying she did that but the circumstances are questionable.
I saw this come up last night and was like idk about this, and then you said the Obamas and I was like 🤔 and now I'm gonna go watch because I want them to make another season of a wholesome dating show 😊
I woud get a nervous breakdown next to this kind of man. He's obsessed with order and control. He gets all freaky even when she goes to his fridge. He needs some serious therapy. It's not gonna end well for him.
your mergers vs start-up analogy was really well said, I don't have the patience for yet another netflix dating show but your takes were wonderful! Subbed for more!! Goood jollly!!!
Excellent observations and insightful review. I enjoyed the show. I like the way it portrayed these baby boomers as vibrant people looking for love in a good way.
I need a scene where Logan sits down with Lori's stylist. Why are the black box glasses non-negotiable? The graphic T seemed really casual for the party.
OMG Tait - I was so excited to find out that this show existed and immediately thought where can I sign up. Then I watched the first episode and I was like - where did they find these old people 😩. I’m in my late 50’s, I’m tech savvy and I actively roller skate 3 days a week. I didn’t finish the series, so I’m glad for your recap. I haven’t given up on dating - but I just need to find my people, continually learning active adults who are keeping up with the times.
I CRINGED everytime I saw the Green Goblin on screen, he barely even looked at her! And when he said "If Im in your dm, its because you have something going on or something ", I damn near threw my remote
He looked like he's just bored and wants some attention to fill up his empty moments. Extremely passive person. Arghhh. But telling her she's locked up - that was true and bold. He's right.
6:29 omg I was thinking the same thing!!!! Anise and Willie conversations were so damn shallow but clearly the attraction was strong 😂 talking about “my person”…girl you just wanted to hunch
Nate has a HUGE wall up. I think he is super self-conscious about his injury. My suspicion is he can’t perform in the bedroom like he used to because of his back. I liked the concept and most of the characters. I would have liked to have gotten more into why the daters made certain decisions. I would have liked to see waaay less of their family members and more of the expert. I only wanted to see the parts of the date that showcased each dater’s problem area and only wanted to hear about Nate’s accident and Matthew’s podcast once. Also, I want to know why Nate and his best friend aren’t together. Dating is rough so I hope that all of them find fulfilling and healthy relationships.
They asked them why they aren't together. You didn't watch that episode? :D They said they're simply not compatible and are like siblings. But honestly, who would want to live with the guy, he's super obsessed with control and order, she isn't even allowed to open his fridge. He gets all freaky when she goes to the fridge. For heavens sake. That's madness. He needs some serious therapy.
@@magicalisticable I did see that episode, but was fully unsatisfied with their answer. They gave the answer for publication, but they didn’t tell the truth, lol! Yeah, I really wanted that expert to move some stuff around in his closet and help him breathe through it.😂

Lori did NOT invite Martin to her birthday party. He invited HIMSELF. She reluctantly said, “Yeah, uh, sure. I guess you can come”. Let’s be real.

I don’t think Nate’s co parenting situation is healthy. His “kid” is 30 but his babymomma makes unannounced visits. They both seem codependent
This. She just pops up
