It's January 2025 and I'm a new Phoenix player watching your video! Excellent and informative, even if a bit old. Because this video is a bit old, I have questions.... Many of the flex cards you mentioned aren't played anymore. I'm thinking specifically about Saheeli and Spikefields but I'm wondering if that's a mistake. There's a very new version of the deck which drops Shredders entirely for exactly the reasons you point out: it's very weak against Rakdos and mono-Black. With demons all over right now, this makes a lot of sense. However, I didn't have much success with that list on the Arena ladder so I'm running Shredders again. The most common additional threat I see is Iconoclast. I think he's good, but he suffers the same weakness as Shredder: dies to Fatal Push. Do you think Saheeri is a good call in 2025? I'm going to finf out. I'll also be trying out a couple Spikefields: mono-Green Devotion isn't a thing anymore, but there are still TONS of stupid elf dorks around who need to die :)
Worth remembering that Titi can't bounce Hullbreaker Horror. Faced an opponent in RCQ with Neoform that fetched Atraxa instead of Horror and was thankful for him missing that detail.
Hey, very ok video. At the end you said that you stream regularly, do you have something like schedule that you follow so your viewers can always expect the stream more or less the same time? Thanks and goodluck!!!
Hi! Like your guide and list, and wanna try it. But in my community we have 2 RB midrange, Greasefang, UW control, Boros Heroic and RB sacrifice. Is it ok playing 2 extra turns in main deck against this meta?
Creating tokens is the main ability of Saheeli! -2 can be used to turn a Servo into a Drake or Arclight Phoenix (like you see when I talk about Saheeli) to push some extra damage, but that's minor and not used all that often
thank you based kaniki, I will now put this on repeat in my ears for the next 12 hours
Brilliant. Midweek Metagame truly is a based form of content
1:37 Oh yeah! Schism by TOOL is an absolute banger
obviously greatly improved tho, with guest vocals by Kanister
Hello!
What are your thoughts about the new Picklock Prankster brew?
Are you going to analyze it?
I have now actually watched it and it is great, very dense in information

Good point!
I will be playing phoenix at the rc this weekend. thank you kaniki
Good luck!
@@kanister 6-2 day 1, with your blessing
Thanks for the guide!
I'm learning this deck so thanks for the insightful video! What do you think about the UB phoenix lists showing up compared to UR?
I prefer UR, because I like playing Phoenix like a combo deck
Recently started playing phoenixes, first fnm was 3-1. Deck was fun. Now I am watching this tutorial, and realized why I lost this one against atarka.
OP guide as always mr streamer
nice video kanister, thanks from brazil!
Would u say this is a good start into pioneer? Never played it but was interested in this deck idea
Sure, why not! Having a guide you can follow should make it easier at first.
Very cool guide mr kanister
Thanks for the great video! What are your thoughts on prankster over/additionally to pieces?
Haven’t come around to giving it a go, but it seems solid, althought weaker at assembling the time walk combo and hard to play alongside pieces…
thanks for the reply@@kanister
solid advice thanks for the vid have always been a huge fan
Incredible video, thank you.

Very good question! Currently my schedule is in kind of a turmoil, but I will make sure it’s easily accesible once it solidifies again!
Why should i play saheeli side instead of young pyromancer in side?
She’s much more resilient to removal, including your own Brotherhood’s End
What about the grull match up
How do you deal with deafiing silence when its game 2 or 3
Crackling Drake and to a lesser extent Saheeli are good ways to fight through it
Hi! Like your guide and list, and wanna try it. But in my community we have 2 RB midrange, Greasefang, UW control, Boros Heroic and RB sacrifice.
Is it ok playing 2 extra turns in main deck against this meta?
If that’s all the players then maybe 4 Cruise 1 Trespass would be preferable!
@@kanister Thank you for the advice!
Nice Tool reference
What are your thoughts on 17 lands + 2 spikefields VS 18 lands + 1 spikefield?
I would prefer to stay with 18 blue even if I added extra spikefields - red mana can be pretty hard to ise in some hands
I have not watched it yet but i am sure it's great!
Excellent guide! Do you think that the latest Picklock Prankster replacement over Pieces of the Puzzle is the way to go?
From what I’ve seen, probably yes
You just lose vs deafening silence? Any ideas to play vs it?
it is not game over but forces you to sequence differently and plan several turns ahead since the deck is over 50% non-creature spells
Crackling Drake, Saheeli, and Thing in the Ice help playing through Deafening Silence
if they have multiple silences and other answers to shredder you could just take them out
This is great
This video has made me regret submitting raksac 😂
I submitted phoenix yesterday, was happy to flip over my round 5 opponent’s list and see racsac 😈
ty
Love u kanister!
Goated Video
it's funny how serious people look when shuffling their deck. Like, smile dude, you're playing a fun card game lol
it's serious business!
I will a b s o r b this
Szkoda że nie ma wersji po polsku ;)
What does saheeli do? I get that its creates tokens but how do you use its -2 effectively? And can't you only use it twice then its done?
Creating tokens is the main ability of Saheeli! -2 can be used to turn a Servo into a Drake or Arclight Phoenix (like you see when I talk about Saheeli) to push some extra damage, but that's minor and not used all that often
