"Africa" appears on Toto's fourth studio album, "Toto IV." It was written and composed by David Paich and Jeff Porcaro, recorded by Toto in 1981, and released in 1982. The 2018 Weezer re-make was instigated by fans on social media and then went viral, bringing the song back to life with unexpected success as a number one hit on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart in August 2018.
Now, "The Monsters of Pop" are breathing new life into "Africa" once again...

Simi Valley was treated to an incredible night of music with "The Monsters of Pop" on Friday night. With pitch-perfect vocals, shredding guitar, and rock-solid drumming, this trio of virtuosos reimagine the hits you know and love as they would sound in a rocked out/metal universe. Their versions of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Toto's "Africa" are two stand-outs on their incredible setlist. Front-woman Jennifer Wylde's voice, look, and stage presence really light up the stage, and the entire band are incredible musicians in their own right.
