Nier: Automata opens with 2B and 9S opening the way for a future incursion into machine territory, working to clear out machine threats for the local Resistance. With help from Anemone and later Pascal, 2B and 9S defeat multiple machine threats. During their missions, they witness the birth of Adam and Eve, physical manifestations of the machine network who reveal that their alien creators were destroyed centuries ago. 2B and 9S also encounter A2, a wanted YoRHa unit. It is eventually revealed that the machines are beginning to feel emotions and gather in groups, and some like Pascal's group have grown tired of fighting. 9S is eventually captured by Adam, who 2B fights and kills. Deprived of his brother, Eve goes mad with grief and drives the machines under his command into a frenzy. 2B and 9S kill Eve, but 9S is infected with the machine's logic virus, forcing 2B to kill him. Despite his android body's death, 9S's personality is saved in the local machine network, allowing his transfer into a temporary machine body. Ending A is narrated by 2B and shows 2B and 9S both surviving.

For those of you that don't know, route A is only one of five main endings, with the final one (E) being the true ending. There are also 21 other "joke" endings. With that in mind, this video only shows less than half of the content of this game. Also, NieR isn't all about pretty graphics, it's about the amazing and fluid gameplay (a mix of hack n slash, bullet hell, and platformer), top-notch soundtrack, and memorable characters. If you don't let the occasional weirdness of this game bother you, it's really a gem. Also, the ending of route E has one of the BEST "boss" fights/sequences I've ever experienced.
Da Chen I think the simple fact that this is a Yoko game, already makes it a gem. His twisted storytelling is what I truly appreciate from these games. the first NieR had such an interesting lead-in from Draken-1's canon "joke" ending. The story of the Gestalt project, the deployment and back story of the Devola and Popola models, how the Black Scrawl virus sent the replicant project into a state of extinction, every detail of this story, of course including ending E, keeps me invested in wanting to see where they'll end the NieR saga, and what kind of new saga will unravel in the timeline.

The route I choose and accept. I can feel OK with 9s becoming a machine it would explain the imagery of 2b interacting with that big machine in the screenshot.

This is what videogames should be, i.e. invaluable "virtual [life] experiences in a box". This would accelerate a young humans growth and development- for the better and it would authentic too. Things like this should be common place in the future as a societal norm that would accelerate the collectives rate of consciousness into that of being a high-sentient society.

I think that Adam and Eve should've been the villains of the game from the beginning to the end. sure, this would've made the story much more "simplistic", but I prefer a simple a story that it simple over an over complicated story, like that of Nier Automata.

I know some japanese games are strange, but THIS, This is one of the weirdest janky japanese games out there. But beyond having the jank, it is also very bad. The story is almost non existant, the writing is very simplistic and childish, like a stupid teenage anime and the voice acting is terrible. The graphics look like some early PS3 era and the whole thing just doesn't gel in any way for me. It's like a bad japanese sci-fi anime with quirky and janky characters, but in a bad way. Japanese stories are weird, man...
Maybe this game would appeal to silly teenage anime fans, but i really cant get into it...
